Default The Sir Alf Ramsey Challenge by argyle4ever

Here is my idea of what I think will be a great challenge:

Aim:To emulate Englands legendary World Cup winning manager Sir Alf Ramsey.

What To Do: Start with Ipswich Town and get them promoted, at Ipswich Town you must win the league (extra bonus for winning it first time just like Sir Alf) and get offered the England job. With England you must win a major tournament (EURO's or World) , again extra points for winning the world cup like Sir Alf.

Rules:At the start of each season you must nominate (and post screenshots) two under-20's that will both need to get 10 starts per season. Obviously this doesnt count for England.

At the end of each season you must post screenshots of your two under-20's.

You must win the league title before you accept the England job.

No cheating, but player naming is allowed.

Good luck, and try to keep me informed!!

I'm up and running and my two under-20's are Balazs Dzsudzsak, a 150k signing from debrecen he plays left wing, already has excellent stats and his value is already 225k after 3 starts. My other under-20 is Billy Clarke, aleady at Ipswich and has gained a bit of interest from premiership sides, not first choice but should still get 10 starts.

I have done 3 games and the results are:

Leeds H - Lost 1-0
Norwich A- Lost 2-0 , fierce rivals so it was a shame to lose.
Wolves H- Won 4-0 , great result, new signing Jon Sutton bagged 2 and the result shows what we can do.

I travel to Barnsley next so am hoping for 3 points.

Screenshots of Dzsudzsak and Clarke will be here soon just uploading.

To start with...
The fans outside Portman Road waited anxiously for the announcement of the new boss at the mighty Ipswich Town Football Club. There was a babble of excited chatter as the minutes ticked by until that annoucement was made. fans debated who would be the new 'gaffer', the ideas ranging from the Halifax Town boss Chris Wilder, to impossible tales of it being Jose Mourinho. Suddenly, a great roar went up as the chairman Dave Sheepshanks strode on to the makeshift stage.
"Thank you, thank you," he said to the now virtually silent crowd. "Now as you all know, ex- manager Jim Magilton resigned from the club at the close of last season. the board of direstors debated long and hard on who would be his successor. Nobody could come up with a suitable candidate. So, we went to the FA. we said to them: Are there any newly qualified managersthat were very successful in taking their coaching badges? And to our dismay, they replied: "No, i don't think there are any future Alf Ramseys in there. Unless...
"He dived under his desk and came out clutching a file with the name 'Oldhammad' on the front.
"This might be a suitable candidate," he said gleefully,"Top marks in everyting!"
"So we took the file and gave it to the board to read. They agreed that this manager had everyting required to become truly great. We took the number from iside of it, and gave him a call. Obviously, he instantly agreed to come to such a high profile club like ours.
"So, ladies and gentleman, fans of the club and media, let me please introduce to you our new manager, Oldhammad!"
A roar of outrage went round the town as the news was displayed live on T.V. in every pub and bar. Photographers clicked their cameras and reporters scribbled anxiously in teir notebooks as the new manager of Ipswich town Football club came in to view.

Update
Have just played my first game, a freindly against Celtic, but my captain Jason De Vos got sent off for a two-footed tackle from behind. At least we managed to win 1-0, the goal coming from half time sub Danny Williams. Our first half side were great, didn't give them space top breath and created a lot of chances. We were never gona lose!
Signings
I have signed Marcus Stewart from Bristol city on a free, he picked up a minor knock in the game but should be ok, hopefull he we prove a decent signing and will be able to mentir one of my under-2o players, striker Danny Haynes, who will start (hopefully) a lot more games than ten this season with finishing attributes that high. A new triallist has arrived for 4 weeks, he goes by the name of Daniel Perry, hopefully he will be decent cover for no. 1 right back Alex Bruce, as loan signing Simon Walton only stays until January.
Going away from Portman Road already is Matt Harding, for a very nice £500,000. he is going to Hull City.

My selected under-20 year olds are:
18 year oild striker Danny Haynes
18 year old central midfield player Owen Garvan
