I have been playing the series on pc for years and however I still like it and the depth has its advantages, I find myself longing for a faster game from time to time. Rather than sitting behind my pc for hours and tinkering tactics, I rather have a faster pick up and play game. I heard FM handheld offers this, so I am thinking about buying a PSP, also because I can play it on my couch then and whereever I want. It seems that it is a nice way of playing.
I am curious about your experiences with this game and how it compares to the PC game and on what points it is a different experience. Do you like playing on PSP more than on the pc?

Oh yes, and I bought a PSP for FM, but then I was commuting for over two hours a day and needed something to stop me beating people up on the tube every morning.

The regens aren't quite as good as FM07 on the PC, but they're still good. The tactics can still be difficult, but it's definitly easier than the PC. You can't customise your formations which is a problem, but it offers most formations you'll ever want as defaults. It has the simplified instructions from the CM years but still offers enough to provide tactical depth.

I love FMH07. I play it whenever I get the chance. In the car, at lunch, 5 minutes of quiet time...anytime. It is easier to manage than the full pc version but still challenging nonetheless, so I recommend choosing a difficult challenge.
I'm currently managing Forest Green in the conference. My challeenge is to save them from relegation. My goal is to bring them as far up as possible. In my first season we are very safe in the mid-table, but unlikely to move up this year. Not much finances to work with and few decent players to choose from who will play at this level. That itself is the challenge.
I recommend it, you won't be disappointed.

I agree. It is worth buying a PSP for.
Vetsurg, I am also playing FGR. Won the conference in season 1 playing an agressive 4-3-3 which promptly ran out of steam in League 2. Came in next to last (above Boston United) and was relegated at the end of season 2. Now I am back in Conference in season 3 and at the bottom of the table. Hope you do better!

I bought one yesterday and played this night. It takes a little getting used to, but the feel of the pc game is there in the psp version as well it seems and man it goes so fast. I would almost say too fast I am wondering how much I miss the 2d engine. I am so much used to the engine that I now have to get used to playing with no engine.
I did already got that 'one more match' feeling, also because I did have an awful awful start and finally grabbed a win after 4 games with Chelsea. And thats why I am now too late at college
