Firstly, this story is good enough. You don't have to _buy_ readers with Scotland finishing above England and putting them out of the competition .

i enjoyed that part let's face it, it's only ever going to happen on CM

I'm really enjoying this story. Good luck with qualificiation for Euro 2008, although I get the feeling that WC2010 is a more realistic prospect.

Aye, keep it up

Took me 8 years and my 4th qualification campaign with the Faroes to qualify for a tournament, but it'll be worth the wait when you get there

England were nobodies compared to Scotland in that game too

*Jimbo - First, I didn't know about the whole Scotland - England thing until I checked at the end. But read below to find out something rather harsh.
Second - Hurrah .
Thirdly, according to the game, Selva was born in Italy and has duel nationality*

*Skiddaw - yes, yes it does*
*Terk - again, look below for the harshness*
*Binny, if so roll in WC2010!!*
*Glamdring - if that is the case, my first should be Euro 2012 *
Thanks for reading all, glad you are enjoying it

WORLD CUP 2006 QUALIFYING - EUROPEAN SECTION - PLAY-OFFS
Below is the table for all the second placed teams throughout the nine groups. I have no idea how the table was worked out, but they all played six games. Scotland are the unlucky team who finish ninth on goals scored, meaning they miss out on a playoff spot.

Second Placed Teams P W D L F A PTS-----------------------------------------------------------------Spain 6 3 3 0 8 3 12Belgium 6 4 0 2 12 8 12France 6 3 2 1 15 3 11Turkey 6 3 2 1 9 4 11Finland 6 3 0 3 11 7 9Romania 6 2 3 1 14 11 9Serbia & Mont. 6 3 0 3 12 10 9Poland 6 2 3 1 8 8 9-----------------------------------------------------------------Scotland 6 3 0 3 6 6 9

The six games are the results against the sides who finished 1st, 3rd and 4th in the group. Results against the bottom nations aren't taken into account (they're generally poor, like San Marino!)

Good story, keep it up but I was just wondering, don't Scotland now play a play-off against an Asian team?

Aye, that 9th team missing out on the play-offs stuff is harsh! I didn't realise that in my game either until I had completed the group with Faroe Islands and then looked and found we finished 8th in that table, above Austria on goals scored thanks to our final game draw
