The Physio informs me that Chris Clark will be out for 2 weeks,Its a blow at this stage of the season but the physio reports if he justs rests he will be fine.He twisted his knee in the last match.
The next match is up quick and a midweek tie against Dunfermline. The scout reports that they normally play an attacking 3-5-2 formation,He also notes they are a determined side with Gary Dempsey a potent threat.

ABERDEEN LINE UP:-
Preece,McNaughton,McQuilken,Anderson(C),McGuire,Ti ernan,Paulinho,Devine,Mackie,MacLean,Prest.
SUB:-Goram,Hart,Muirhead,Heikkeinen,Bavidge.

DUNFERMLINE 0 ABERDEEN 3PREMIER LEAGUE
It was Paulinho who went closest before the Dons went ahead,His Free kick going just over the bar.Aberdeen then had the lead MacLeans pass bouncing off Skerla then falling to Mackie who hit a fierce shot past the keeper 1-0(35mins.)Derek Young was unlucky not to score a few minutes later,Preece saving his stinging drive. The first half finished 1-0 and the score stayed the same as Aberdeen made changes to try and wrap it up,Heikkinen,Muirhead and Bavidge on for Tiernan,Devine and Prest.(64mins.)The Dons doubled their lead soon after Mackie playing the ball to MacLean who rounded the keeper and scored 2-0(70mins.)Mackies pace caused the problems for the third as he rushed up the right hand side,He beat a man before laying the ball across goal for Bavidge to tap home 3-0(81mins.)Gary Mason tried to get a reply for Dunfermline but his shot was high and wide of the goal. The Dunfermline fans head home after the third goal as their team are beat 3-0.

No new injury worries after the game,Clark and Tosh still the only concerns.
Steve MacLean has really impressed during his loan from Rangers. We would love to sign him but could be priced out of the move.Rangers want at least 750k for him and Aberdeen simply cant afford it.
Dundee up now and the scout informs me that they normally line up in a 4-3-3 formation. He also meantions they are a strong team with Nacho Novo the main threat.

DUNDEE 0 ABERDEEN 1PREMIER LEAGUE
Dundee started the brighter team missing chances through Nemsadze and Rae.Aberdeen came back into it but failed to make and clear chances and were restricted to shots from outside the box.The players battled for every ball as they went in level at half time.Aberdeen scored with the first chance of the second half,Paulinho flighted in the near post corner and McGuire headed it across goal only to hit Milne and in 1-0(63mins.)Aberdeen threw 3 subs on again Heikkinen,Muirhead and Bavidge on for Paulinho,Devine and Prest.(70mins.)Dundee won a corner and could have leveled it soon after,Burley with the corner towards Milne he beat McNaughton in the air only to be denied by Preece in the Aberdeen goal,McGuire was at hand to clear the rebound.Bavidge had the ball in the net in the last minute but made his run too early and was flagged offside.A hard fought victory but a victory it is,it finishes 1-0.

With three games to go until the league split and only eight left in the season we find ourselves in a very good position,We have to play Hibs twice and Celtic twice before the end of the season so we know its going to be a hard battle with Celtic for the title.
Russell Anderson returns to training,The very next day he twists his knee and will be out for a week.
That prompts me to meet the chairman and discuss better training facilities,He says a lack of funds and an outstanding loan prevents the club from being able to improve on the set up we have, which is adequate.A club like Aberdeen need the best but will have to wait until we can raise some money on the pitch.
The first of the month brings an award for Paulinho as young player of the month.

MANAGERS VIEW:-
With the season now over we can relax a bit and concentrate on building the team for the champions league next season. We could have never dreamed of winning the title in the first year and i dont think we would have if it hadnt been for Anderson and McGuire in defence they were top class all year.Preece deserves a mention aswell as he has been brilliant in goals. We will all go for a deserved few weeks holiday before we arrange some tough freindlies for the squad in pre-season.
