TWO PLAYERS OUT INJURED

We had some bad news after the Hibs game with the physio informing me that Bavidge and Whelan will be out injured after picking up knocks in the last game.
Martin Bavidge will miss a week of action with a damaged foot.He will miss the games against Dunfermline in the cup and Rangers in the league.
The physio informs me that Noel Whelan needs to see a specialist about a chest injury picked up in the last match. He will be out for 3 weeks to recover from this.We hope to see him back in january pushing hard for a place in the first team.
Calum McHattie was in fine form for the reserves scoring a hat-trick against Kilmarnock reserves. He will be called into the first team for the cup game in midweek. He is 19 now so he will need to keep those performances up if he wants to make it into the first team.He is one for the future, although if he played well in the first team i wouldnt be afraid to make him first choice now.
The league cup will give us a chance to rest a few of the regular first teamers. We won this cup last year but we have to think of fitness with the team still in the champions league.

RANGERS COME TO THE GRANITE CITY

Rangers head to Pittodrie for todays game with the Dons.
Rangers have been poor this year and im surprised Alex McLeish is still there. They finished a poor 3rd last season and sit 5th in the table this year.
In past meetings between the clubs Aberdeen have won 4 with 1 game ending in a draw.
Rangers havent been playing well but they still have the players who could cause the Dons problems,Lovenkrands and Hughes are two men that have to be watched closely.
Aberdeen have Bavidge back,He will still sit this one out to let him recover fully from his injury,Whelan is still out with a back injury.

MANAGERS VIEW:-
We struggled to create chances again in this one but with the ones we did create we should have scored.Im happy with the way the defense coped but in the final third play was poor.
We have our final game in the group stages of the champions league in midweek,We will train hard for that match in a bid to get the good form going again.
Stewart Devine had another good game and was trying his hardest to create something he looks like he is grabbing his big chance with both hands.

BIDS ARE MADE AS WINDOW OPENS FOR BUSINESS

The opening of the transfer window sees me looking around Scotland for any players out of contract at the end of the season.Only one player was found Stephen O'Donnell. The Dundee United player has a good future in the game and we hope we can do something to make him sign.A contract has been offered to him and he will decide where his future lies in the next few days.

A few bids were made for players that the scouts had found.
Bojan Djordjic of Man U who is listed came up in our uk and Ire search,We have bid 200k for him.Even though we meet the asking price im not sure he will want to move to Aberdeen.
We have also offered Partick Thistle 40k for Emmanuel Panther,He would be intrested in moving but Partick will want to keep a hold of one of their best player.
We are keeping a close eye on a few others and could make some bids in the next few weeks.

O'DONNELL REJECTS THE DONS

Dundee Uniteds Stephen O'Donnell has signed a new contract at his club. This ends the speculation surrounding O'Donnells future.Thier was talk of him moving to Aberdeen at the end of the season but the talk will end now as he commits his future to United.Aberdeen had offered him a 2 year contract which he rejected in favour of a 4 year deal at Dundee United.Mr Gunn had this to say"We offered him a very good contract,More money than United too so fair play to the lad he choose to stay at the club thats been loyal to him"

PREECE UNHAPPY

David Preece came up and told me today he was unhappy at not being first choice. The conversation was pretty stright forward:-

PREECE:-Im Unhappy at not being first choice boss,I might have to leave if things dont improve.
GUNN:-Ok David your on the list plus you can be first choice reserve keeper from now on.If your not happy with that you can train on your own.
PREECE:-Err thats not what i meant boss,I want to stay but not being first choice is hard.
GUNN:-I know its hard,I thought you could put up with a challenge but i was wrong.Im going to have to list you for your outburst if it happens again you will find your wages a bit short for a week.
PREECE:-Ok boss wont happen again,Sorry.

1 ARRIVES,1 REJECTED

A trialist arrived in Aberdeen just a day before the next game against Hearts,Noel Hunt arrived for a two week trial from Dunfermline. He is still under contract with Dunfermline and would cost 200k.The scouts have gave him glowing reports so we will have a good look in the next two weeks.
Man U reject the 200k offer for Djorjic,They have put his price tag up to 250k,We have put in a bigger bid as he looks like the kind of player we need.
