While that's true, like with short stories the question is: where do you draw the line? Would flippers, Faramir, you or I ever rightly be called "underrated"? I ask, because one of those four is nominated...

The award was created for the unsung heroes, effectively to place those who don't get recognition through other channels in the spotlight.

Questions must be asked about the durability of the Perseverance Award though, the other Unsung Heroes category. The two often have the same nominees and more people have won both than just one or the other. Perhaps they can be merged from next year. But I guess we'll have a proper debate on that next September/October.

Well tbh unless its me, then thats farcical

But seriously, none of those are underrated. Really, there is an unwritten list of people who arent eligble for SOTW, simply because they DO get more than enough attention and therefore cant possibly be underrated.

I think we do need a bit of a rethink about the awards, but I wont discuss it in public just yet. Dont want to let people think they're POV means anything.
