A sense of numbness hung over Ethan. There was no way it could have been AL-Quada who carried out the bombing that had killed the future King of England. No way. He had him under surveillance nearly all the time, except of course the four hours he'd had to sleep. But surely Al-Quada had been asleep too? Surely to feck Smith had kept tabs? It was Smith's job to secure the area, but Smith had failed. And no Smith to was dead, but that was irrelevant.
The death of the Prince of Wales was also irrelevant. It wasn't Ethan's problem. And, it might not have been Al-Quada. Which would make it less of his problem. Yet now his package was on his was to China. This was worrying. Al-Quada had no previous links with China, but now it seemed he might courting people within the country. And that could only mean one thing. Nuclear bombs.
He could see now what the terrorist's plan was. As he endured another 90 minutes of mind numbing tedium that was a football match, as he Chinese national team ritually slaughtered the Kuwaiti's by 3-0. The Kuwaiti team didn't even have a clue what it was doing, even Ethan could see that. Al-Quada was no football coach and he was using this as a front. Ethan had followed him as he met with three Chinese, two men and a woman. He would have to investigate them but he had little time and his new partner would not arrive in Kuwait for two more days.
Ethan's depression had little to do with the death of another useless in his mind Royal. It was the thought that Al-Quada might have nuclear links. It was a devastating thought....

Dateline: Doha, Qatar. Again the football front is played, al-Hussein's "team" facing the Palestinian side on neutral ground. The match itself ended 1-1. The movements were again difficult to follow. For whatever reason the border guards opted to detain me for a good three hours upon arrival. Difficult to know what al-Hussein did in this time. Requesting further instructions before return to Baghdad. S.

This was getting frustrating now. Finding Al-Quada's real plans was like finding a needle in a proverbial haystack. Liechtenstein had been a port of call in March. Add that to Andorra, and the thought came to Ethan. He was courting European minor royals. Perhaps he would be off to Monaco next. The side had lost 3-0, clear proof the man wasnt in this for the coaching. Even Ethan knew that was a poor result.
A visit to Malaysia, a 3-1 loss, the meeting with people who were in the database. It was all adding up. The question was, what was it all adding up to?
At least he didnt have to go to the home match with Hong Kong. His new partner, Penelope, had been a welcome distraction. They had made love from almost the off, this was the life he was used to. It was just a damn shame he would have to kill her. She knew too much.....
