Tout Mon Samedi - Le Journal Intime de Mon Succès. Ou Echec. Post #6
Bonjour. Mon nom est Sebastien Fernandez, et c'est mon histoire. L'ampèreheure mais moi vous entendent dire, je ne peut pas parler français ? Je continuerai en anglais. Juste pour vous.
I was born in a small town called Ouanary, on the coast of French Guiana, not far from the border with Brazil on the 24th December 1967. My father was French Guianian, my mother Brazilian. It was not surprising therefore that I grew up with football in my blood, and my great dream was to represent Brazil in the World Cup Final. That particular dream never came true, although I did play football. I played for my local club in Ouanary till the age of 17, when I was signed by one of the top sides in Guiana, AJ Saint Georges who were based only a few miles inland. I could have spent all my career playing for them, had it not been for my call up to the French Guiana national squad for the 1988 Olympic games. It had been a great achievement for the country of my birth to reach this tournament, and even at the age of 21 I realised I would never play for Brazil, or even France, for whom I was eligible. I accepted the call up, and from that point there was no turning back.
French Guiana lost all their matches at that years Olympic’s, but I did manage to score our only goal in a 5-1 defeat to Belgium and I must have caught someone’s eye as I was offered a contract by French Ligue 2 side, Cannes. It was a hard decision for me to leave my homeland, but the opportunity was too good to turn down. My family was not rich, and playing football at this level game me the chance to help them reach a higher standard of life. After three years at Cannes, where I failed to make to much impact, I was sold to Rouen, and it was there I was to spend most of the rest of my playing career. I carved out a decent enough career there, and eventually took up a coaching role as well as playing, until I retired in 2002 aged 34. I became assistant manager at Rouen, and at the end of last season was offered a chance I could not turn down. I was to become manager of National side FC Libourne Saint Seurin sur L’Isle. I had been at best an average player, but I was determined to become a successful manager, and make my family proud of me. I hope I do not let them down.
The squad at Libourne is not the worst in the National, but its not the best either. If it was, they would not be in the National. There is a little bit of money to spend, and I will spend it. That, of course, is always assuming I can find the players who will want to play for our club, and who will be better than what we have. This is not a guarantee, and I will just have to see who is available to me once I sit down and go over it with my scouts and coaching staff. The board are expecting us to finish mid-table, and I believe this is something I can deliver. Our longer term ambitions are to reach the Ligue 1, but for now our aim is to compete in the National, and then we will know where we can go from there.

You're dreaming if you think I'm writing this all in French gonch :p
Anyway. As some of you know I've hosted a CMO clan based in France for the past 2 years and the league has grown on me. This is an attempt to get a proper career story going, something I havent done for a long long time. Leagues running are all French and top two in England, Italy and Spain, so the options are still limited in a way, but its the best I can do speedwise. The days of running over 30 countries are long gone
This is FM5 of course, and I have a French Guiana retain all players option, but sadly there arent enough to make them manageable, which is a shame.

Sebastien Socie (28) France Former Lyon keeper, picked up for the massive sum of €2000. He is a decent enough keeper at this level and should be first choice.
Jean-Christophe Colard (23) France For a keeper, is still fairly young and isnt overly bad. Signed from Brive-la-Gaillarde for €22,000.
Christian Potel (30) France Has played for a number of crap teams, was already at the club. Merde.
Said Nadir (28) France Another keeper who was already at the club. Tres Merde.
Defenseurs
Lilian Astier (26) France In his 4th year with the club, a decent full back who can play either side.
Davy Merabti (27) France 3rd year at the club, the left back is also a decent enough player and will be the club captain.
Jean-Francois Douence (32) France In his 14th year witrh the club, has played his whole senior career with Libourne, which in reality must means he's merde. Looks not too bad though.
Sebastien Mazeyrat (25) France Can play in the centre or at left back, a €22,000 signing from Clermont.
Jerome Adam (25) France €3000 signing from Croix de Savoie, a decent enough looking player. Cant play football though.
Ahmed Berkouch (30) Maroc Another long serving player. Merde sur un baton.
Joel Venceslas Kouassi (22) Cote d'Ivoire Rather sadly named for a christmas carol, but a half decent player. In his 3rd year at the club.
Francois Marque (21) France Merde.
Laurent Strzelczak (33) France Bit old, but will do the biz. €16,000 from Wasquehal.
Stephane Santini (31) France €3000 signing from Bayonne, he isnt great but he was better than what we had.
Milieux
Mathieu Zandona (21) France Young player who can play the holding midfield role, and fill and left back. If only he could play the game, he'd be great.
Laurent Delchie (24) France There are a limited number ways of saying merde.
Mikael Michel (31) France Oh please, at least try and look like a footballer.
Lahcen Chakir (26) Maroc One of the better players who was at the club when I arrived but is currently injured for a wee while.
Pascal Theze (32) France Another long termer, and isnt overly bad.
Regis Castant (30) France Been here a long time, former Bordeaux player and if fairly decent.
Ernst Atis-ClothaireHaiti (8 Caps) His name translates as Cloth-Ears. Signed from Draguignan for €55,000 hes not too bad a player despite that.
Christophe Rossignol (30) France You have to wonder how some people can have the audacity to try and make a living from this game, when they clearly cannot play it.
