When the Belfast Celts sing again... Part III - Back in Belfast Post #33
SO'M Life is good at the top. [i]Stevie said leaning back in the plush chair that use to be Frost's.
MJ It was damn nice of Frost to die and leave us all this. Marcus stretched his six foot six inch frame out on Frost's leather couch.
SO'M Frost isn't dead. He's hiding out in Brazil and before that Columbia.
MJ What you talking about Willis? How do you know he's not dead? It was in all the papers, news, everywhere.
SO'M I had to pay all Katie's collect calls to Ted Locke off the month after he was fired. Do you think he got the job based on his previous performances? No Katie probably softed up Frost with a little loving and got him to promise to give Locke the job.
MJ Damn she must be good.
SO'M How else do you think a barmaid got married to an upstanding man of means like Frost?
MJ I thought she just waited until he had 2 pints and pounced on the lightweight.
SO'M Yeh, after 2 pints Frost is up for any deal, whether marital or not. Well when he does come back the Raptor Group will back in a strong finanacial position. Football is all about blind passion, but Business is more a well conceived plan. And this crazy war isn't helping us any. It would take a moron to join us with bombs and bullets whizzing about all around. It will take a steady hand to weather the storm.
MJ If this wasn't better than the Ghetto I grew up in, I'd almost envy Frost living the high life in Brazil.
SO'M I would envy him if I wasn't leaving this country for a couple of months. Going to the Continent to check out the FC Bohemians Praha in Prague. They might be the next team to join the Raptor Group.
MJ Look what we have hear? Marcus pulls a couple of girly mags out of the drawer.
SO'M Tits and Ass. Young Girls and Oriental Babes. Damn **** me that Oriental Babe mag, maybe there are a couple of pictures of Kitty Yung in it.
MJ Frost that dirty little Belgian.
SO'M There not Frost's. PUlling out a bottle of Gin Looks more like Best's work.

When the Belfast Celts sing again... Part III - Back in Belfast Post #35
Stevie thought life couldn't get much better. He didn't even need to cheat on women to get his hands on money anymore (though old habits die hard), and he spent a lot of time in the Czech Republic. He made those trips under the pretext of checking out potential investments for the Raptor Group, but even if he really was interested in Bohemians Prague, O'Mao spent a suspicious amount of time gathering information on some of his rivals. It had been over twenty years since the Iron Curtain came down, but the former Eastern Block still hosted the finest spies in the world.
And so he returned to Edinburgh happier every time. On the pitch, his beloved Hearts didn't disappoint either. For a while, it looked like at best they'd have to settle for promotion via the playoffs, but then the Tynecastle outfit went on a brilliant run which saw them drop very little points. By May, they had swept all before them, and won the Football League with a record points tally of 103.
All that while just a few miles up the road, Hibs crashed back down to earth. In the end, they survived in the BPL, but only in 17th place. Early exits in both FA and League Cup proved to be some serious writing on the wall when it came to Europe. A lucky escape in the first group phase couldn't hide the fact the Hibernian era was over. In the second round, the Easter Road side were found out by Benfica, Lazio and Panathinaikos, and finished last.
Glasgow Celtic had to settle for the runners-up spot in the BPL for the second season running, after Newcastle United clinched the title for the first time in 84 years. The Scottish side didn't mind, as they ended a long wait of their own, by winning their second ever European Cup. In the final in Amsterdam, they faced, and beat, the same club as back in '67: Internazionale. And like 44 years before, the scoreline was 2-1. More silverware could follow in the Super Cup clash with UEFA Cup winners PSV.
Celtic also continued Scottish dominance of the FA Cup, succeeding Hibs, who won it the previous three years. Finally, the League Cup saw Liverpool reply to Merseyside rivals Everton's victorious 2010 campaign in style.
In Ireland, Celtic had already completed the League season with just a solitary defeat at St.Pat's denying them an unbeaten title. The season ended with Athlone and Derry (via a playoff) returning to the top flight, and Linfield beating Non-League Mervue United in an FAI Cup Final Replay to make up for the disappointment of missing out on second place. Days later, UEFA announced second wouldn't have made a difference, as Ireland dropped two places in the UEFA coefficients, to 16th. It meant the FAI could only enter one team into the Champions' League qualifiers.
