Here we goes like the one year ago i posted a long list of my FM Ideas.( i couldnt write this much in school
when the teacher asked me but for FM I CAN !! )
!! Warning !! THIS THREAD COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE, READ ON YOUR RISK !!
National Team/Manager
National managers use their own "strategy" when it comes choosing the players.
The biggest problem or issue has always been the players a manager chooses.
Some managers uses mostly star players or players that plays abroad/ better leagues,
others use players they think matches the tactics more or players that are less stardom but more
"for-the-team"-players if u get me .
Other Managers only mix those types together.
Now there is also the types that calls up the same players(about 20 players is always the same, then 2-3
players change due injuries, good/bad form etc) and some that almost completely change the whole squad after a
big loose.
Also after missing a qualification or bad performance on Euro/World cup etc...even if the same managers gets a
second change this often causes the team to "start from scracht",
which means that like brazil, croatia, serbia, hungary(Correct me here if im wrong) etc...have been starting to
call up the next "generation" even if they have worse stats or less experienced...well on this progress some
managers still call up players from the "old" selection...if u understand me
Well i dont want to explain every type of managers or way to select their squad but i think the National teams
must stop to callup every "best player"...for example im greek and in FM i see a completely different squad
than in real life...even i agree that FMs squad are the "best selection".
Lord Otto reghagel tries to build up a good working team with good chemistry..than a talented team with no
chemistry(even if 80% of greece disagreed with him before euro 2004, now we all shut the hell up to whatever
he do )
On the other way National teams with not some many good options have no choise than to select their 1-2 big
stars...even if they play poorly irl, for example Ibra for sweden...dont know any more examples ...
Correct me if im wrong in this boys...this "idea" of my is more for the National teams with crappy league/More
Players abroad
Well my i hope you get my point...i want the National teams to respond to reality more than to pick the best
and play...Because England isnt so overrated (even if many of us jokes around here)..i think its more a
chemistry/tactic issue (my opinion).
National Managers (Different types/Starting a team from "scracht"/Keep calling up the same
players/Calling Players playing in better leagues is a priority.
National team have its own "chemistry between players" and how good the teamplay it has etc.
Star players or players with bad character should have harder time to adapt witht he other teammates.
Also these players could create bad atmosphear when benched or loosing a game.
Changing the PA ability
Players PA ability should be unknown for everyone (incl scouts, AI)
A players PA should increase for example if he had a good season or if he moved to a bigger league/team, the
same way a players PA could decrease if he would go from (for example) arsenal to hibernian...same way it
would decrease if hes been benched for too many games or long time injuries(3 months+)
Players "PA" should also increase with a good perfomence during a World cup for example or Euro...beside that
hes status greatly increases also ..in my opinion.
There should be a number like PA has (-1 to -10)...but this values could be increased or decreased by the
following events: Injuries, good perfomence/good seasong (depends also on which league/competition this good
perfomance takes place).
Lets take Alexander Pato as an example...lets say hes PA is -9...he playes 10 matches and gets injured for 5
months then (in my opinion) he should loose one step to -8 PA...if he returns well and plays well for the next
10-20 matches then he could "regain" the -9 PA.
But if he returns from the injury and gets no playing time, and u decide to loan him out then the next season
gets sold to salzburg or something. If he stills manages to play blad/get benched...then hes PA could be
dropped to -7 PA.
I have taken some crazy theory now but i want you to understand how some young promising players could(with
bad luck) become a average player for serie a or something.
My idea here isnt perfect but i hate to know that (because of scout or because i checked the editor) that this
player will be this good. This also should act on the other way around...if a players has -6 PA..with good
performence, being called up for nationals...plays well there and with the club. Does an great performence in
European cup, then he would get like -7 or even -8 PA.
There should be an limit decrease/increase like +/- (-3 PA).
This one needs really thinking through it you think its sounds good .
I know that players dont max their PA everytime but this way will benefit the players that actually does play
good during games.
Scouts should report players that have been playing very good...for example...if you going to take up 2-3
youngsters from your u21 team then you should go after the best perfomings players...instead of the ones your
scout "knows" have best PA...My idea isnt flawless(spell?) but i hope you get my point
This could be a whole new "PA"-system, because this one we already have become way to easy for us experienced
players....u buy a player with 170+ PA with 100 CA than a 155CA/PA ...its both cheaper and you could get good
money for him...this has been a tactic i been using the last 2-3 FM's.
Scouts/coaches/medics (and little media down there)
The skills and the CA/PA should be removed from the staffs.
I always bring 1-2 seasons to get the perfect staff for my team, while in real life teams usually take an
retired player or some managers bring their "friends" as staff.
So i was thinking the staff should be balanced in this way...a young scout should be unexperienced and
therefor not so good...while a 50 years old would be experienced for ofcourse, should be more accurate on
scouting reports(faster in finding the player you need). He would also ask more in wage.
Also scouts with mission to looking for talented youngsters should automaticly scout u19,u17,u21
tournaments...beside the u21 league.
And a scout in conference scout should not "get" the same experience as a scout in Premier league...so in this
way there could be a balance.
And also if a scouts founds a youngster from Nigeria and brings him in for trial...if this player later on got
signed by the club and became a good player, then the scout should get a "level-up" in reputation/status(too
difficult to script?).
And coaches should only have a description "Good in offensive training" or "Tactical traning etc"...an retired
player should train what he was good at as player. And this staffmembers should get their status build up with
the years and with success in the league, cups etc...like the manager in sevilla has build up for example.
Many teams also use a staff member to manage the team while they look for a proper manager(or they decided to
let the staff member try out for a season)...but this alsom (sometimes) makes that staff member to not want to
return to hes old position. And makes him apply for manager position with other teams(if he gets fired or
asked to return to hes old position).
This also happens in real life and its the only reason im writing this .
I have most experience with the greek league...and im guessing this also happens more or less in other
similars leagues.
In real life many clubs have the "manager" splitted into 2 roles, one that will handle economic,
transferbudget etc(lets call this manager1) and one that would coach the team, tactics (lets call this one
manager2).
So manager2 wants a left midfielder that (besides the normal winger stats) would be good on marking and
helping with the defensive part...he tells manager1 i want this, manager1 with the scouts look for this kind
of player and signs him for the club.
I wanted to describe little background and the roles some clubs uses ...but this is not something i want to
happen in FM (which is playing only as coach ). But since we are playing both this roles in the game it
would be nice to tell the scout that you look for a player with blabla skills and an asking price on about 4m
(and i know you could use filter with the boring numbers). This scout would now only focus on this kind of
player for 1-2 months.
And lets say after a month the scouts reports back with some players (or with none if he didnt find any that
matches your wish).
Another thing i wanted to add about scouts...is that in real life clubs like chelsea, real madrid, manchester
united etc, is that they have eyes on EVERY player(especially youngsters). I watch greek league every weekend
and once in a month i hear the speaker say that a scout from chelsea is here to watch the game. Sometimes its
obvios(spell?) which players hes there to watch and most of the times its unclear.
So this is as much media thing also....because as soon it hits the newspapers we see a front page in the
sportspages that chelsea is watching (media often guess) playerA and would soon hit a 10m bid or something
like that.
I dont know how often this happens in premier league but this happens way often in leagues with lower standard
(greece,turkey, croatian, serbian etc).
Agents
I dont really know much about this subject but every summer (i guess) clubs(small clubs only?) gets tons of
trials offers with some non-european player by their agent. I even saw that Yaya Toure asked olympiacos to let
hes brother(yes another brother here) to try out for olympiacos...so players can try to use hes influance(am i
using the right word here? XD) to let hes brother try out.
This would mean a favorite staff/player thing or a teammate in u-21 or something .
Media
Players that have been benched by a manager and been sold/released after a while should have a big possibility
to say bad things about the old manager. Also players with bigger status then the manager should have a
possibility complaining about the tactics or methods the manager uses, when the team isnt performing well or
loosing an important game.
Players that play more positions than one (players should also have a favorit position for example left wing)
and the manager let him play defensive midfielder where the player wont perform so good(in 3+ matches), should
complain to manager in private or directly to the media (depends on hes charachteristics? ) about the
managers choise.
This could be little off media but players that goes on international or on vacation should have a small
change to turn up 1-2+ days late and get the media speculate a transfer away from the club.(this happens like
1/3 of times with africans players )
I dont follow the media so much in england but i have an idea that the media their cause problems to teams
with writing untrue stories or speculations. I have seen managers getting ****ed of during a after-match
confernce talk...because the newspaper/-s wrote something riddiculus about him or about the team...i dont
remember any good examples from real life but i have seen some (search Malesani on youtube where he says cazzo
every 10 secs ).
New Idea- Crowd that influence the players during a match
Well like in real life(im getting boring i know) the crowd react or some times overreact when a team isnt
playing well.
If a team plays badly for 3-4 matches in row then the crowd will boo them out from the 30 first minutes(if
they dont lead which is). This would affect the "weak/young" players more than the experienced players..the
same way they should get affected in a derby or very important match. I dont know if we would see an icon when
the crowds are unhappy with the team or the fans leaving early from the stadium.
This would also include us to comment the crowds behavior or support or asking them to fill the stadium for
support, pre-match and after the match.
Please keep in mind that England is lovely and fans there almost fill every stadium there is ..but in these
countries where football isnt as beatiful as english, spanish(,italian?) the fans wont pay 20-50 euro to see a
crappy match unless the team is winning, playing beautiful or if a big star player is playing or if a world
class club comes to town. I know this is the FM scouts job to do this...but crowds gets affected more in these
leagues with these events. This would more affect lower standard teams/leagues.
I dont know if Si games are ready to take the "Stadium" into next level but i have been reading this on
many threads that many ppl wants to see the stadium or at least the standings and the fans (moving coloring
dots XD)...this way you would see if many fans have come to see the match and also see how they behave or if
they leave early of dissapointment.
This would also be very nice if the fans(dots?) did jump as crazy when their team scored a goal(important=more
crazy)...also if the team conceded a goal then the fans would get frozen as ice for some minutes.
Well this is an idea that propably would not happen but you can feel free to comment or correct me in any way
.
Im done for now with my ideas . I not so very active in these forums so i dont know how often you read these
kind of ideas and for that im sorry.
Im also sorry for my bad english, the amouns of "like in real life", the dots (...) and the time you just
wasted .
I will refresh my ideas later this year or early next year and feel free to comment, critise me .
My only wish is that someone from SI reads my ideas (and of course the rest of the idea we fans write).
The truth behind the "PA"-ideas is that im slithly getting bored with FM the last 2 versions...even if i spend
way too man hours with it XD. I think its time to revive it!!!
