Default Time for a difficuly level?

I know some people hate the idea but i really think its time for a choice of difficulty level.

Some people, like myself, rather enjoy the direction the came is going with more detail, more choices and more consequences. When you play LLM these things, especially tactics, can lead to rewarding giant killing occasions. If you just relied on the inherent talent of the players, the better team would win every single time. These things create a type of "anything can happen" game which feels closer to real life.

I would hate to lose the minutiae of the game but some people clearly don't enjoy it and would rather have a "pick and play" style game where there's less to worry about. They want a game they can be good at without much effort and that's fine too.

I just don't want to see one of there ways chosen over another, alienating half of the FM market. Or worse, a compromise where no one will be happy.

no need for a difficult level. either you're good enough, or you're not. you can't go to your governing body of the league you're in IRL and say, "it's too hard! make my game easy please" so you can't do it in the game.

That's right. Each team is a different challenge, and even if you always choose the same team, every game will be different. So the "difficulty level" depends on your team choice, on how much you rely on your assistant manager, etc.

I think for some people the detail is just too much. Read the posts. There are so many people complaining about how they can't win with even the best teams.

Not me, however. I play LLM. smiley face.

What are the objections?

for those people that the detail level id too much, try playing the other offerings. they've always been "easy" in the past. fm is for those who like to be challenge. those who like to know what achievements are. I haven't managed to win a 2nd major trophy yet on 08, and that took me a few seasons and tactics, but, i'm not in it to win it, i'm in it to play it, until i win everything. success is hard to come by IRL, so why should it be easy in a simulation?

A resounding No so far then.

For my part I think a number of things are already geared for the user, but first the simple thruth that this is not a pick up and play game like FIFA Manager or LMA needs to be accepted as reality.

Your own reputation at the start of the game has a bearing. My 8.0.0 game saw me pick Liverpool as an International Footballer, now I'm playing 8.0.1 with Liverpool as a Sunday League Footballer but also as Belchatow of Poland as an International Footballer. Your players are directly affected in terms of morale by your reputation at the start which lends ease of difficulty dependent on your choice.

Choice of club is an issue, as is choice of league. I find lower league England much easier than lower league Italy, Spain, France or Sweden.

From my perspective, this is the only footie manager sim of it's kind, the rest are gimicky, low featured, graphics driven, console based, and unchallenging guff, so if you've picked Real Madrid or Chelsea with an International Footballer's reputation and are still struggling then people have to perhaps consider that it's not the game for you.

difficulty doesn't just depend on how good a club you are, the jobs the same, you have a club with certain expectations and resources and you have to match or surpass them, its the same whether you're chelsea, palermo or weymouth.

I'm against the idea of difficulty levels, its like when a friend suggested a while back there should be an option where you can't be sacked. had he been in the room (it was over the phone) I'd have glared at him in amazement. What sort of mickey mouse game did he think this was? It defeats the object of this game to have features like this.

Isn't that what the in-game adviser popups are for?
