This is an old thread and I posted it when only the demo was out so now that we have a full game at our disposal, has anybody found a really effective way of making money.

My Man Utd side is currently losing money by the bucket load. I have a merchandising feeder club but that seems to have lost much of its effect. Obviously, United are not the best example, seeing as we have a £650m debt round our neck.

heres how i do it exept play and win stuff and tv.

i get many youth players. i mean many. all promising with decent psysical stats and detarmination.best are players from small eu lands.

then i raise them in my lazio u-20 teams untill they get 21. whenthey are 21 they get listed avaible for loan.if no one make offer for em i offer them out on loan to everybody.

hopefully when they are 23-24 they are decent players and can sell for decent amount.good amounts can be made for national player couse they have better rep.

most important never loan out players to bad teams and make sure they get first team place and not cover for first team status.

as united u gotta sell some high wage players and bring in some good cheap wonderkids in wage as back up players.

With Man Utd it's really tough to escape the red budget. With automatically -4M each month, it's easy to say about raising kids and sell them, but I don't think you'd survive for that long.

Cutting wage is an immediate thing you need to do. Getting commercial feeders will also help. But you must win games and games! If you slipped off UCL then you're done. No transfer budget for the next season (or very minimal).

I tried playing Man Utd earlier and I didn't feel like having to deal with that financial pressure for 40+ seasons.

I hope you can manage to see out the chairman debt :p

WIth Man Utd, I managed to get a Japanese feeder club around Jan I think and that was about it. At the end of the season I was only about £10 Million in debt but then the club was bought out. There was no investment as such, but the new guy did erase the £10 Million I was in the red and also one of the loans disappeared (The smaller one). Then the money came in for TV and the like and since then I've been under in the wage budget + there was a 16,000 increase in seating. That's helped too.. So I don't think, unless anything major goes wrong I'll have any problems with the finances now. Although staying in the Champions league is a must. The Gate Reciepts and prize money alone cover all the large loan payments.

Before the patch I could sell players I just signed on Bosman's, however I haven't tried this post patch and I doubt it works any more.
