Player and Staff Interaction

I would like to see the opportunity to suggest players to your favourite clubs. For example Joe Royle told David Moyes about a teenage Darren Bent but Moyes did not follow up his interest (lack of funds).

Former players (who you sold earlier in the game) who have you in their favoured personell could ask you for advice on which club he should join if several teams make an offer for him.

You should be able to put a word in your board's ear if you are a successful manager / held in high regard with fans and help suggest a successor if you are intending to move on. Walter Smith recommended David Moyes to Everton.

If a managerial position is empty, an AI manager could recommend that you apply for the job. For example Alex Ferguson recommended Birmingham City to Alex McLeish.

Your assistant manager and coaches should recommend players to you who have impressed them.

Players should suggest players to you unprompted (i.e. not specifically when you ask them). Example here.. Tim Howard recommended Josh Lambo to Everton who later signedfort he club after impressing on trial. Tim Cahill recommended Vince Grella but Moyes decided not to move in on him.

Younger players could come to you asking to be placed on the loan list as they wish to get more experience in the lower leagues as they feel it would be beneficial to them.

Some youth players should have problems such as "Doesn't think he has the ability to become a proffessional footballer" even if they do possess the ability (based on ambition and determination) or if he was released by a larger club "Beleives his former team made a mistake in letting him go and is determined to prove it".

Some players should have "Feels xxx is not getting the international recognition he deserves" if a player is performing well but not being pick for his nation.

There should be a continent filter on the world rankings so you can see where your nation stands in comparison to other nations in same continent.

Nation Nicknames

Nation nicknames should be implemented for news summaries, for example Manchester United are known as the Red Devils on club level, but internationally England are
known as Three Lions, France are Les Bleus, Nigeria are Super Eagles etc.

Also they could have information as to when their FA was founded (similar to the club founded field) to give an indication of how long they have existed.

National Manager Interaction

You should be able to approach a national team manager and recommend one of your club's players (or another club's) to international recognition. David Moyes frequently calls upon Luis Aragones to call up Mikel Arteta, Berti Vogts was contacted re: Anichebe.

Team Information Panel

On the team information screen for nations, spoken languages should be stated.

World Ranking

ELO Rankings could be implemented

On the same screen there should be a mini table with your nations ranking in it, instead of it just saying World Ranking 29th, it should have a little league table showing you two positions above and two positions below and in a third column saying if they the ranking improved, stay as they were or worsen. For example:

Position NationImprove, Plateau, Worsen
27 Romania ↑
28 Bolivia ↓
29 Liberia ↑
30 Fuji Islands↔
31 Hong Kong↓

Failing that, display an arrow next to the ranking displaying whether the nation ranking increased or decreased. Also make the World Ranking text clickable so that it takes you to the World Ranking page.

Clicking on the world ranking number should take you the graph of the nations ranking.

Nice ideas, not sure I fully understand the last one though. What are ELO Rankings?

Liking these ideas. Although I think the World Rankings are currently good the way they are.

I'd particularly like for my players/former managers to recommend players to me without asking.

They are all good ideas, although the Elo Rankings are not really important in real life (they are not used for any competition, etc...) and most people have never heard of them.
