I have a very good attacking M-RC player with crossing 20 and acceleration and pace 12. He is an accomplished M R and a natural M C but I would like him to use his crossing ability to the maximum so I decided to place him to M R, no forward arrow, in a standard 442.
But the problem is that he gets to pass only about 10 times per match.
These are his current instructionst:
I would like him to play a la Beckham - no runs with dribbling (although he has 18 dribbling) but to stand on the MR position and launch deadly crosses into the box.
So once again, the main problem is that he doesn't get enough chances to pass the ball. Any suggestons?
Do you mean he dosent get the ball enough or that when he gets it he dosent cross?
If he isnt getting the ball you could try making him playmaker or targetman with balls played into feet.
Set his Cross From to Deep and see if giving him holdup ball makes him more likely to dwell on the ball and spot the opportunity to cross into the box. Also try setting his passing style to direct to encourage him to get it into the box.

Ok, I'll try that. I'll have to take a chance with the hold up ball 'cos it seems that the opposition can smell when the hold up ball is ticked and that player almost instantly gets tackled or fouled or something like that.
and if he doesnt get the ball enough set his mentality to about the same as your MC's.. and put him on rarely foward runs.. that way he will drop deep getting himself more available to a pass from his teammates around him
