Played Attacking tactic for first 45 mins and was 3-0 up. Changed to Normal tactics for second half, controlled the game, had quite a few more chances but none went in. Maybe I should have stayed on Attacking. I'm greedy aren't I?

Yes, or normal.

You can try starting out defensive, see what happens. Raise the tactic if you go behind maybe? Sometimes though, "he who dares wins".

Hmm. That hasn't happened to me so far (giving the ball away a lot).

I'll just remind everyone about the importance of the media and team talks interaction. I wish there was an option to disable that altogether, so one could test tactics purely on their merits.

All I can say is, 14 matches in a row without losing so far, and they rarely hit shots straight at the keeper, and the opposition keeper isn't man of the match so often. Compared to what was happening to me before, the change has been astounding.

But be brave and experiment, tweak some things to suit your team maybe (I only advise you to stick to those two "rules" I mentioned). What tactic did you play against Man City away?

Generally, it works for me to start with normal yes, but he who dares wins sometimes. Try and "read" what's most likely to happen in every match. Go for intuition sometimes.

If you're heavy favourite you can do that. I put 3 past Blackburn in 45 mins of Attacking.

Experiment. I've posted the tactics and explained a bit because I'm confident they can serve as a kick-starter for struggling managers. Provide some ideas etc. I can't promise everybody success straight away with them.

I am Liverpool and I start most og the games with the normal tactic.

Here i my results:

LFC- Middleborough 0-0

LFC - Roma 4-0

Derby - LFC 0-2

West Ham - LFC 0-3

LFC - Blackburn 2-2

Newcastle - LFC 1-3

LFC - Celtic 5-0

This is the best tactics i have tested for FM 2008 - good work

If its ok for you i will link for this thread on a danish FM fan site called www.fmfreaks.dk

Hi I started with the normal tactic...also just pklayed West Brom in LC put out my strongest team cos i just want a win...took an arteta penalty in the 115th min to win...I had 28 Shots 16 on target 12 off...they had 3 and all off...Not being critical at all what so ever but most people make these taics with the "better" teams and con't try them on weaker ones...

It would seem by the problems I have described that i am having exactly the same problems with your tactic as I was will any other...i.e giving the ball away...missing loads of one on ones...losing a goal to a ball over the top after giving possession away...can't score after 28 chances from open play...

Maybe its just Everton lol..however I do have some quality players in season 3...I will stick it out though...maybe it will turn round...

A draw away to Newcastle but a cracker of a match. Started with Normal tactic, and Lehmann passed the ball to one of their strikers and he touched the ball into the net, LOL. So I thought okay, just Lehmann being his silly self, I'll stick with Normal for now. But then I went 2-0 down so I changed to Attacking, and it was 2-2 by half-time.

Aguero scored right after the start of the second half so I went on Defensive and held out until near the end when they got an equalizer. I'll write this one off as unlucky. But I'm thinking that going on Defensive when you're only one goal in front and there's still plenty of match left, is not such a good idea. Two goal cushion should do it maybe.
