Vidic is a monster! Carragher is a champion though.

I'd probably rate the players as world class instead of being 'the best.' Because, really, what determines whether a player is the best in the world? Reliability, ability, consistency, etc? Everyone has a different view and it's all just an opinion!

I admitt that carrager is a wonderfull centre back but being a man utd supporter i don't go around claiming vidic (who imo is just as good as carrager) is the worlds best centre back. ergh sorry it had to be said </BLOCKQUOTE>


Blackcats - Vidic is perhaps the best cb in the world at the minute. He's a beast at the back, no-one gets past him and he scores a fair few dont he.

He was great in FM 2007, think he will be even better now. Playing in Feyenoord this season and doing a great job there.

Main people I've looked at so far, along with estimated cost.

Javi Martinez (Athletic) - £16.5M relsease clause - looks good.

Matias Fernandez (Villarreal) - £13M - Gets conditional work permit in season 1.

Bruno Mezenga (Flamengo) - £1.9M - Labeled the next Adriano?

Breno (Sao Paulo) - £3.5-5M - Looks class at a young age.

Mario Balotelli (Inter) - £12-14M - Next Luca Toni and only 16. Could be worth it.

Jonathan Franks (Middlesborough) - £3M - Decent enough and English

Alex (Vasco) - £500K - Seems alright and you can't go wrong at that price.

Lucas Trecarichi (Sevilla C) - £FREE - Hard to get to leave, even for £40k / week wages. Looks amazing.

Michael Johnson (Man C) - Unknown - English but will he be world class?

Anyone got any experience with the above players so far??

And why does Giles Barnes cost £11.5M to leave Derby!!

For lower league teams (not played as a higher team yet) Patrik Lomski from Finish side Turun Palloseuria. Only 24k and scored 14 in 21 and his stats fly in just half a season. Hull bid 400k for him.

Actually, I'm reckoning he'll get a significant boost. The Baggio comparisons have started, though he seems more like a Rivera type to me. He's been playing very well too, and I reckon that if he can adapt to life at Empoli, they might have another season to remember.
