Default Awakening a sleeping giant!

Hi guys,

Hate asking this but I need a little advice. In middle of my first season with Nottm Forest and the January transfer window is on the horizon. I'm doin well in the league and domestic cups but I want to build a team now that can take me all the way to Prem.

So far I've signed some great players to cover most areas of the pitch but there are still a couple of positions where I need to invest.

I'm looking for a couple DC, DL and GK.

Only wanna spend up to 500K max on one player would prefer to spend less if possible.

Any recommendations you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a list of the players I've signed so far to give you an idea of the kind of team I'm building.

Calin Cristea - 40K
Balazs Dzsudzsak - 110K
Sabrin Sburlea - 14K
Bogdan Stancu - 120K
Pablo Piatti - 70K
Charles-Andre Doudin - 60K
Nejc Pecnik - 100K
Ivan Bandalovski - 130K
Rene Mihelic - 120K
Distel Zola - 400K
Birkir Bjarnason - Bosman on 01.01.08
Miguel Rebosio - Bosman on 01.01.08

GK - Bouzanis from Liverpool if he's not been offered a contract yet. Turns out great and I THINK you have to compensate them less than 500K. Dont remember for sure though.

DC - Craig Cathcart from Man Utd is *sometimes* available for peanuts really. Also, Nortveit from Arsenal. Depends on your luck.

DL - One of the hardest positions to find quality in. I think Michael Lea from Man Utd turns out pretty good. Not sure about that though and also not sure how much he'll cost you. Cant think of any others atm.

Thanks for the help guys.

Defenders-

I've actually got Man Utd as my "parent club" so maybe I can get Cathcart, Evans and Micheal Lea on loan in my second season (they're already out on loan).

Goalkeepers -

Enyeama is not interested in joining me right now but hopefully he will be in January or end of season...if he's still available.

I'll definitely check out Bouzanis.

What do you guys think about Preston Edwards?

Try Thiago from Barca, he's a wonderkid in my forest team in the prem
Also try Ishmal Miller, Goosens (becomes better than commons)

How did you manage to sign Thiago? Did you do it at the start of your 1st season?

Speaking of Braca, try getting Olazabal from them. He's potentially a good GK as well.

While you're there looking for kids, might as well make an enquiry for these 3 unknown guys there - Dos Santos, Bojan and Messi. They all have quite decent stats and might be willing to come to you!

Seriously though, you could try to loan Bojan from them. He's not in any way developed fully but will still get you lots of goals.

Seriously doubt any Barca players would go to a league 1 team??

For a GK - Try Daryl Flahavan from Southend I think, he's class.
