Millwall Spending Spree Pays Off
Millwall have rocketed to the top of The Championship after a fantastic start to the season under new boss Stuart Warren. The young Englishmen has made some fine purchases since taking over the club, and they've proved their worth on the field.
Three players in particular stand out from the 10 brought in. Carlos Daniel Hidalgo, a young Columbian striker brought in for £650k, has formed a formidable partnership with Bob Peeters, nad has already notched up 11 goals in Millwall's rise up the table. Jose Julian de la Cuesta has also been on top form. He started off playing left-back, but Warren has since moved him to the centre of defence to allow 18 year old Tony Craig fill the left slot. David Bellion, on loan from Manchester United, has been instrumental playing wide right, and has taken the penalty-taking role comfortably. He is with the Lions for the season, and will certainly be hoping to help get them into the same division as the club who pay his wages.
