Indifferent start for Preston

After a somewhat successful pre-season the Preston fans were optimistic going into the opening game at H to Wigan. They were not to leave dissapointed as Prestoin came out comfortable 3-0 winners with goals from Daley, Jephcott and Cresswell.

The games following have shown just how inconsistent Preston are however. They can perform superb one week but then with the exact same team turn in a woeful performance only a week later. This has cost them dear as they sit 12th in the league with 9 games gone.

Bain has acted on the inconsistency and brought in Federico Magallanes, John Sutton, Amado Guevara and Tijani Babangida to try and combat this. All 4 players possess an enormous amount of talent which Bain hopes they can help the team achieve consistent results and challenge for a playoff place.

Paul McKenna, David Healy and Dickson Etehu have all had to leave the club to release wages in order to bring the new faces to the club and have brought in a combined total of £1m in transfer fees.

Preston face Liverpool at Deepdale in the 3rd round of the league cup after disposing of Cambridge and Oxford in earlier rounds. This should be a day to remember for fans and will bring much needed revenue to the club.
