Pettigrew Joins Wolves !

Wolves FC had only announced the Departure of Glenn Hoddle hours before the young talented scottish manager Sandy Pettigrew was taking the hot seat and looking forward to the challenge.Pettigrew was asked a number of questions at the press conference.

Sky Sports : Hi There , Sandy what do you hope to bring to Wolves that is different from the likes of Glenn Hoddle

Mr Pettigrew: Well first of all I hope to bring a fresh enthusiasm and fun to the clubs training and take the lads back to basics to get them ready for the fight to the Premiership. We will see what happens.!

BBC Reporter: Do you plan to make many changes to the squad?

Mr Pettigrew: Well i see no need to make that many changes to the team seeing as Glenn brought in two younger English players who i am yet to get to know. As you well know from my years in lower league scottish football i like to bring youth the the team but with Wolves that will come in time as i dont want to rush anything. I have chosen Colin Cameron to be the Club Captain as i worked with him when i was a apprentice coach at Tyncastle until Vladamir Romanov came in.

ITV Reporter: What are your goals for the season Sandy?

Mr Pettigrew: emm..... To get promoted. Could we please keep the questions interesting , I dont think i will be answering anymore questions for you.

Aussie Sports Reporter: Ive Heard rumours that Harry Kewell is ready to move to Wolves with you , Is there any truth in that?

Mr Pettigrew: No , Do i look like i have money falling out of my pockets. Thats all for now guys . I look forward to seeing you all again before my first Championship match.

Pettigrew has been linked with a number of players , a number of them being from Scotland but is having trouble getting them to move to a championship side!

More news to follow from a later date ... ... ..

-----Sky Sports News-----

-----BREAKING NEWS-----

Kelly Dalglish: Breaking news right now, we're heading to a Press Conference at Ipswich's Portman Road Ground where Ipswich Chairman David Sheeepshanks has sacked Manager Joe Royle.

The scene changes to a press conference and in the middle of the table sits David Sheepshanks and beside him sits the relatively unknown Tony Hall.

David: I would like to confirm to you all that I have terminated, with immediate effect, Joe Royle's contract with us and I would like to thank him for his work he has done with us but it is no secret that I have been very disappointed with the start we have made in the Championship this season, lets get one thing straight first it was not all Joes fault, certain people have under performed in this team and I intend to employ somebody who will take care of those who have under performed, I would like you all to meet our new Manager and Head Coach Mr Tony Hall, I would like to let Tony say a few words and answer any of your questions."

Tony Hall: "Thank you David, it is a great honour to be made Ipswich Manager and I realise its going to be a very big challenge and I intend to win that challenge, as you all know I am a former player of the game, I've had to retire early from playing due to a injury and I am grateful to Mr Sheepshanks for giving me my first Managerial role in football. Any Questions?"

Reporter: "With Ipswich lying in 13th place at the moment can you realistically hope to gain promotion to the premiership and will your inexperience hinder the teams progress?"

Tony Hall: "Now lets get something straight here, I came here to get this team performing again and that is what I intend to do, I may be inexperienced at being a manager but I will not let that hinder the teams progress, as for gaining promotion to the premiership I still think its a possibility, I mean its still early in the season and there are plenty of games to play and at the end of the season I hope we will be in a position to gain promotion, be it in 1st place, 2nd place or via a Playoff Final. I'm not saying it’s going to happen this season but we will gain promotion"

Reporter: "Will you be making any changes regarding the team? Will you be selling and buying any players in the near future?"

Tony Hall: "I haven't made a decision yet and I won't be until I have watched the team play a match or two and I will also be evaluating the team during training sessions, I expect each player in the team to play to the best of their ability. Any body not performing will be finding themselves on the transfer list and if I see a player that I like I will talk to the chairman and see about making that offer"

David: "Ok I think that concludes our press conference thank you ladies and gentleman."

The scene returns to the Sky Sports News Desk and Kelly Dalglish continues with the rest of the day sports news
