The Eagle has landed

After an indifferent January, The Eagles finished with a resounding win against Luton, will this set them up to go on a run toward the coveted automatic promotion slot?

4thFebruary 2006

The first game of February for Rouch’s resurgent Palace was against fellow EFB manager and League Leaders, Sheffield Uniteds Rob Perrry was a payback opportunity for the tonking that the Blades manager had handed to rouchie earlier in the season! And that was exactly what it proved to be as Man of the Match Ben Wright romped to a hattrick, and Andy Johnson continued his impressive form notching up another as Palace cantered home to a 4-0 win

Crystal Palace 4 Sheff Utd 0
Palace Scorers : (Pen 31, 46, Pen 62) Johnson (34)
Attendance :26468
MOM : Ben Wright (Crystal Palace)

11th February 2006

This game had everything, sendings off, missed penalties, scored penalties, the lot! In form Ben Watson missed an early penalty, then Coventry’s Heath was sent off, Palace were then given another opportunity from the spot and “onesize” stepped up and converted to give the Eagles the lead. The second half saw Stern John (Giggling Johns serious brother) get the equaliser for 10 men Coventry and it seemed the curse of the unbeatable 10 men was going to strikje until Rouch tweaked the teams shape shouting instructions from the touchline sending the players wide, telling the players to use their own inspiration and step up the tempo, Supersub Morrison finally got the harsh but deserved breakthrough with the last kick of the game to send the away support into raptures AJ was the Man of the Match and proudly received the award after the game.

Coventry 1 Crystal Palace 2
Coventry Scorers : John (52)
Palace Scorers : Hall (Pen 40) Morrisson (90)
Attendance :19082
MOM : Andy Johnson (Crystal Palace)

14th February 2006

After three successive wins, Rouch was really looking for the team to continue this winning ways mentality and was not disappointed as his team tore Brighton apart in a brutal second half! A dominating first half failed to yield the goals it merited for the Eagles but that changed after the restart, when Ben Wright, the basement bargain signing, and now integral part of the team netted the first it opened the floodgates. AJ was next to score, swiftly followed by Ben Wrights second and the fourth was the first for the club from Iakovenko  Andy Johnson secured his second successive MOM award and match champagne too

Brighton 0 Crystal Palace 4
Palace Scorers : Wright (60, 75) Johnson (67) Iakovenko (88)
Attendance : 8977
MOM : Andy Johnson (Crystal Palace)

25th February 2005

A tough away fixture for the Eagles made even tougher when Jason Koumas fashioned an opener for the home side in only 4 minutes to silence the travelling support  Super signing Ben Wright finally grabbed the deserved equaliser over 15 minutes later! Another tactical swithcheroo at the death of the game by the manager saw Iakovenko grab another late winner and extend the winning run to 5 straight games!

Cardiff 1 Crystal Palace 2
Palace Scorers : Wright (21) Iakovenko (86)
Cardiff Scorers : Koumas (4)
Attendance : 10855
MOM : Jason Koumas (Cardiff)

February Awards

Gary Borrowdale came 3rd in the Young Player of the Month Award, Andy Johnson and Ben Wright occupied 1st and 2nd places respectively in the Player of the Month Awards, and Manager Paul Rouch finished runner up to EFB Host Andy Hepburn as Manager of the Month despite leading the team to 4 successive wins and maintaining a 100% record for the month

Monthly Motty Fact

This is the first 100% record for a month this season for the Eagles

League Position

3rd

Highest Rated Player

Johnson 7.94

Most Appearances

Gary Borrowdale (35)

Top Scorer

Wright 20

Alright I sit here writing this at 2:30am on Christmas morning waiting for my Turkey to bloody cook, Its only been in the oven for 6 hours!

Saturday 4th Febuary 2006 : Gretna v Alloa : Bell's League Division Two : 1-1 draw

Yeah a really crap game here, both teams knocked the ball back and forward for 45mins unti Richard Prokas finally managed to get clear of the Alloa defence to give Gretna a 1-0 lead at half time.
More of the same in the second half, dull lifeless p!sh before Paul Mortimer got free of the Gretna defence and pulled Alloa level in the 85th minute.

I amongst all that crap Chris Townsley was sent off for Alloa in the 7th minute.

Saturday 11th February 2006 : Morton v Gretna : Bell's League Division Two : 2-1 win

Gretna went at Morton from the start of the game and were unlucky not to have scored several goals by the time they actually did open the scoring through 106 year old Andy smith in the 30th minute.
Into the second half Gretna battered Morton and finally managed to add to their tally in the 54th minute through David Graham penalty.
Again the pressure continued from Gretna but they couldn't add to the score.
Andy McLaren pulled one back for Morton in the 90th minute but by then it was too little too late.

On a sad note for Gretna Kjartan Henry Finnbogason went off injured in the 19th minute with a fractured arm and will be out for around a month

Saturday 18th February 2006 : Peterhead v Gretna : Bell's League Division Two : 1-0 win

My bastard players seemed to think they were here for a stroll in the park here today

They done nothing first half, and Peterhead seemed to be happy settle for the point.

A quick kick up the arse at half time and my team went back out determined to get something from the match but at this point Peterhead didn't want to part with their point.

Wave after wave of Gretna attack failed to make the breakthrough until finally Kenny Deuchar scored a feckin goal in the 94th minute.

3 points and a lesson for the morons I call my team - simply turning up does not mean you will get the three points without trying

Saturday 25th February 2006 : Gretna v Partick Thistle : Bell's League Division Two : 4-3 loss

Top of the table clash here as both teams tied for points went head to head.

Daniel McBreen opened the scoring for the Glasgow side in the 10th minute.
David Bingham pulled Gretna level in the 23rd minute.
The celebrations for Gretna didn't last long though as McBreen put Partick back in front 2mins later.
Grant Johnson fired Thistle 3-1 ahead in the 38th minute.
David Bingham pulled a goal back for Gretna with his second in the 44th minute.
McBreen grabbed his hattrick in the 50th minute and that was 4-2 for Partick.
Both teams had chances to add to their tally before David Craig missed a penalty for Thistle in the 89th minute.
A minute later pulled a goal back for the Black and Whites in the 90th minute, injury time and Gretna had a chance to at least grab a point but were unable to take it.

**** off Thistle! take your three points and get out

Saturday 4th March 2006 : Stirling v Gretna : Bell's League Division Two : 2-0 win

Gretna quickly got back to winning ways after the loss to Partick the previous week.

Jamie McQuilken opened the scoring for Gretna in the 24th minute.
David Bingham doubled the advantage 4mins later.
That was that and nothing much else happened here.

So yeah three points

So teh report might be a bit crappy and littered with spelling mistakes but I'm semi and drunk and worried about my feckin turkey and my kids will be up in about 3 hours!

This sucks ass.

Merry Christmas fools
