Perry: I will be looking to bring in a few players to improve in certain places but Id agrees some of these players are very good.

Perry: For now all the backroom staff will stay as I don’t want to change too much this far into the season.
Perry: Id just like to say one more thing before I go Id like to thank Mr. Gold and Ms Brady for bringing to this great club and I hope I can get us back into the premiership first time round.
Good Luck Rob

Eagles Glad All Over Europe?

The nights may be cold and dark but there is –plenty to cheer about at Selhurst Park these days! Nicely positioned in the top four of the league, and battling well in Europe! The only cloud on the horizon are the goal keeper (Gorka) is refusing to renew is contract so may be lost free at the end of the season

The final game of the Champions League group stage and another run out for 18year old star in the making Victor Moses. It was Nikolas Zigic however, that broke the deadlock with the only goal of the first half and put Palace ahead after only 16 minutes. Mauro Rosales equalised in the second half but 5 minutes later Victor Moses regained the lead for the Eagles, only to see Rosales peg them back again just 3 minutes after that which is how the scores remained. Overall though a solid performance for Palace in Amsterdam as they strolled through to the knockout phase of Europes biggest club competition

Att : 49659
MOM : Anthony Vanden Borre - 8 (Crystal Palace)
Referee – Massimo Busocco
Weather – Dry 8c

A cagey game to start with opened up as the match wore on, but fans still had to wait until 5 minutes before the break to get their first taste of goal mouth action and a goal! Andy Reid scoring to put Palace in front. Wigan equalised just after an hour passed on the clock, Emanuele Calaio netteing for the visitors. It looked like that was how the game would stay until 6 minutes before the end Collins John finally broke free of his shackles and scored an exquisite goal which turned out to be the winner and continue Palaces incredible undefeated league run!

Att : 27194
MOM : Wayne Routledge - 8 (Wigan)
Referee – Graham Poll
Weather – Dry 9c

This has to be one of the games of the season! Man Utd started this game running at full speed scoring after only 3 minutes, Salamon Kalou on the scoresheet for that one. Both sides were playing attractive flowing football and the game ebbed and flowed between the two sides as Palace sought a way back in to the game. Collins John finally scored the equaliser just after the half hour, swiftly followed by Nikola Zigic’s goal which put the home side ahead! But as the game had already proved, leads mean nothing and Kieran Richardson levelled for United just before the break! Ruben Ariel Olivera struck just before the hour to put Palace ahead again, and from that point Palace never looked back, and after the Man U keeper, Michael Rensing was substituted injured with less than 20 minutes to go, the reds looked a lot more vulnerable. Palace took full advantage when Collins John and Nikola Zigic both added to their first half goals in the last 10 minutes to help record a memorable victory

Att : 38996
MOM : Collins John - 10 (Crystal Palace)
Referee – Ian Burns
Weather – Wet 8c

After the sublime performance against Man Utd, theis game looked like it was going to get better and better for Palace fans as the streaked to a 2-0 lead in little more than 20 minutes with goals from Collins John and Ruben Ariel Olivera, but Chelsea hit back and levelled before the break with 2 goals for Didier Drogba, the equaliser just before the break. Chelsea came out for the second half still buzzing from their comeback , and Kaka put the Blues in to the lead 1 minute in to the second half, Palace looked shocked! The eagles were desperately looking to get the game and stop Chelsea extending their lead at the top, but were struggling to break through the defence until the dying seconds of the game, deep into injury time when Ruben Ariel Olivera struck a stunning equaliser for the visitors and kept the run going and kept Palace in touch with Chelsea in the league

Att : 42493
MOM : Ruben Ariel Olivera - 8 (Crystal Palace)
Referee – Peter Walton
Weather – Wet 13c

After 2 very tough games, Palace had to face a very physical match against Blackburn Rovers, but always looked in control. Collins John continued his fine scoring form with yet another goal, this time just after the half hour to send Palace in to the break ahead. Nikola Zigic added to that in the second half to double the advantage. 10 minutes after Zigics goal Blackburns Galletti got himself dismissed to write off any hope for Rovers to get back in to the game

Att : 28030
MOM : Fabio Santos - 8 (Crystal Palace)
Referee – Phil; Dowd
Weather – Dry 8c

Monthly Round up

So as Palace finish the year, they are still in the top 4 of the league, impressing in Europe, and performing well! Collins John was runner up in the Player of the Month Awards, Anthony Vanden Borre won the Young Player of the Month Award and both will be looking to continue that form going in to the new year

The Forest Frenzy - Hepburn still missing so who cares about the football!!!

We enter the month of September and everyone at Forest is still worried sick about the kinapping of gaffer Hepburn. There has been no word from him or his kidnappers as to why they did this or what motivated them to do it so everyone is still worried sick. It has been left to Hepburn's assistant to take over meantime so lets see who he got on.................

Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forest - (A) Sat 6th September 2008
Final Score - Crystal Palace 3 v 0 Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest v West Ham - (H) Sat 13th September 2008
Final Score - Nottingham Forest 2 v 1 West Ham

Nottingham Forest v Portsmouth - (H) Wed 17th September 2008 (Carling Cup)
Final Score - Nottingham Forest 1 v 4 Portsmouth

Tottenham v Nottingham Forest - (A) Sun 21st September 2008
Final Score - Tottenham 2 v 0 Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest v Liverpool - (H) Sat 27th September 2008
Final Score - Nottingham Forest 0 v 3 Liverpool

It has been a rough month for Forest as the players minds have not been fully focussed on the jobs and it has shown in some of the performances, especially the 4-1 defeat at home in the Carling Cup to Portsmouth. Hepburn needs to be found before his team sink in the Premiership before the season has really begun.

The Forest Frenzy - Hepburn is found, pity the results are still p!sh!!!!

Nottingham Forest gaffer has somehow managed to escape the clutches of the Russian kidnappers and is now back in charge at Forest. Hepburn has been labelled a nutter for what he did but he said he did it for his love of managing Nottingham Forest. The results on the pitch have still not improved as FOrest are still in a rut but given what has happened it may take time for Hepburn to turn it around and get Forest moving in the right direction. Here is the latest from the City Ground.....................

Premiership

Man Utd v Nottingham forest - (A) Wed 1st October 2008

What a game for gaffer Hepburn to come back to as his side travelled to Old Trafford to take on the superstars of Manchester Utd. Utd dominated the early stages and took the lead after only six minutes when Rio Ferdinand bulleted home a header. The continued to look dangerous but slowly but surely Forest came back into the game and had thier chances but were unable to convert. It was end to end stuff in the second half but Forest just got no luck in front of goal and Utd were unable to increase their lead. A good performance from Forest who were unlucky not have come away with a draw from the game.

Final Score - Man Utd 1 v 0 Nottingham Forest
Goals - Man Utd - Ferdinand (6)
Sent Off - Patrice Evra (Man Utd)
Att - 75962
MOTM - Adam Drury (Nottingham Forest)

Premiership

Nottingham Forest v Wigan - (H) Mon 13th October 2008

Forest were low on confidence going into this game and Hepburn was doing his best to get the morale back to what it was last season when they were riding high at the top of the league. They faced Wigan at the City Ground and Forest found themselves two down inside five minutes. Forest were flat and really did not get back into the game until the second half after a rollicking at half time from Hepburn. They managed to get an early goal through Helguson to give them some hope and they tried in vain to get the equaliser but it was not to be and now they had went five games without a win.

Final Score - Nottingham Forest 1 v 2 Wigan
Goals - Forest - Helguson (52)
Goals - Wigan - Routledge (2), Calaio (3)
Att - 30372
MOTM - Jimmy Bullard (Wigan)

Premiership

Chelsea v Nottingham Forest - (A) Sat 18th October 2008

Next up for Forest was a trip to London to take on Chelsea and Hepburn to come face to face with the man who he thinks was behind his kidnapping, Roman Abrahmovic. The atmosphere was hostile to say the least and the Forest players froze. So much build up prior to the match and seemingly got to the players. Chelsea outclassed Forest in every department and won easily. Hepburn could not contain his frustration at what was going on around him and made for the directors box to have it out with Abrahmovic but security intervened and Hepburn ended up getting arrested. It was complete madness here at the final whsitle and who knows what the FA will do over this volatile situation.

Final Score - Chelsea 4 v 0 Nottingham Forest
Goals - Chelsea - Kisliy (7,22), Carvalho (67), Ferreira (72)
[I}Att - 42489[/I]
MOTM - Ricardo Carvalho (Chelsea)

Nottingham Forest manager Andrew Hepburn has remained in a Nottingham jail until furhter notice after a night of violence in the jail involving Hepburn. It is unknown what he is being charged for following his ugly incident with Chelsea owner Roman Abrahmovic at full time in the game between the two sides eariler today. Reports suggest Hepburn went ballistic when being questioned a hit officers and trashed the interview room. More on this unbelievable situation when we get it.

So with Hepburn gone again from the helm at Forest, his assistant had to take over yet again to help this team through a rather difficult period. The month ended with yet another defeat at the hands of Blackburn to end what has been a turblent month in the history of Nottingham Forest football club.

The Forest Frenzy - Hepburn in jail but the results are getting better!!!!!

The season is not getting any better for Nottingham Forest gaffer Andrew Hepburn. First there was the kidnapping and now he has ended up in jail for a month or more depending on his behaviour. He has left the club in the hands of his assistant and he has finally managed to stop the flow of defeats and he is getting the team back in the right direction. Here is the latest from the City Ground minus gaffer Hepburn..................

Newcastle v Nottingham Forest - (A) Sun 2nd November 2008
Final Score - Newcastle 1 v 1 Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest v Middlesbrough - (H) Wed 5th November 2008
Final Score - Nottingham Forest 2 v 2 Middlesbrough

Southampton v Nottingham Forest - (A) Sat 15th November 2008
Final Score - Southampton 0 v 4 Nottingham Forest

Norwich v Nottingham Forest - (A) Sat 22nd November 2008
Final Score - Norwich 0 v 3 Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest v Arsenal - (H) Sat 29th November 2008
Final Score - Nottingham Forest 0 v 1 Arsenal

Things have definitely picked up and with the manager back at the start of December it is looking a lot better at the City Ground. Lets hope he stays out of trouble and trys to guide this Forest team up the league.
