Eagles Glad All Over Europe?
November is knocking at the door and Palace still lay nicely poised in the league and exceeding expectations in Europe
The Bluebirds, fronted by fellow EFB manager
Rob Perry were the first visitors of the month and they struggled to match the pace of this young Palace side in the first half. Andy Reid was first on the score sheet after just 6 minutes and Collins John added to his impressive season tally with Palaces second just after 20 minutes had elapsed. Cardiff believed they had a lifeline when Amarol reduced the deficit in the second half but Andy Johnson dashed those hopes just 2 minutes later when he struck the third for Palace and sealed the game at 3-1. Rouch congratulated Perry after the game on a fine game, but was relieved to have secured the bragging rights for now

Every now and then in a football season, a team hits their full potential and tears apart the opposition with embarrassing ferocity, that is what happened in this game as palace battered a bewildered Southampton! A hatrick for the ever improving Olivera, one from Diego, a penalty conversion from Anthony Vanden Borre and an own goal gave Palace a 6-0 win which neither flattered or deceived. A fine win and a vintage performance

After the footballing perfection that was the performance in the last game from Palace, a very lacklustre and wasteful performance in this one where the West Ham keeper managed to keep the hammers in the game and earned himself the Man of the Match award for his performance in the process.

Life with Palace at the moment is like a merry-go-round, the ride has stopped at perfection again in the penultimate Champions’ League group stage game. A new star is also born as Rouch fielded some fresher legs in this game. Nikola Zigic had scored twice in the first 5 minutes against the Italia Aristocrats, but his brace paled into insignificance against the performance of young Victor Moses. Making his senior debut for the club, having come up through the ranks and only just turned 18 years of age, the youngster impressed every one watching this enthralling match, and he is sure to be a prized asset for club and country! His performance and composure as he slotted in his 4 goals!, against Inter Milan!, in the Champions League!, on his debut!, at 18! shows a star in the making and everyone will be watching this boys progress from this point forward!, his own performance even managed to overshadow the fact that Crystal palace had just beaten Italian giants Inter 6-0!!

And this game was another event following the Lord Mayors show! Palace were on top but unable to score until the second half when Collins John netted first, only to see his effort ruled out by little Judas Cnutfaces equaliser. Yet another draw for the Palace

Bolton gave Palace a scare mid way through the first half when Martin Lotka gave Bolton the lead after 27 minutes and put the Eagles on the back foot. Freddy Guarin retrieved the position for the visitors at the stroke of half time causing a massive psychological blow to the Wanderers. Before the whistle went though there was further controversy when a penalty was awarded to Crystal Palace, but
Rob Perry’s cast off Figueroa missed from the spot! It looked like Bolton were going to hang on for the draw as the second half drifted by but Collins John popped up right at the end to steal it for the Eagles with a last gasp winner

The final match of the month gave Palace an opportunity to reduce some of the gap between 4th and 2nd as the Palace travelled to Anfield. Both sides were looking to play attacking football and this provided a real spectacle for the fans. Hatem Ben Arfa, a onetime transfer target for Paul Rouch, was the first to break the deadlock but no one believed that would be the end of the scoring! 3 minutes into the second half Palace got their deserved equaliser when Kim Kallstrom struck home. The only surprise left in this game was that despite the attacking play, neither side could score again and the game finished a draw :thdn:
