Session Dates: 1st August 2006

Results

Championship

Birmingham Scorers: Bjarni Thor Vidarsson (55) & Giovanni Torre (83)
Reading Scorers: Michael Chopra (19) & Mikael Forssell (45)
Attendance: 30,008
MOM: Pedro Vega (Reading)
Disappointing draw but still both my new strikers scored, Mikael Forssell scored against his old club, still getting a point from Birmingham is good.

Attendance: 15,530
MOM: Steve Simonsen (Stoke)
Reading Injuries: Michael Chopra (9)
Red Cards: Olivier Tebily (Stoke) (12)
This is really getting embarrassing, Reading can’t beat a team that is bottom of the championship, has 10 men on the pitch. I am at a loss for words, my side has really lost its killer touch.

Sunderland Scorers: Stephen Elliott (18) & Garry O’Connor (85)
Reading Scorers: Dave Kitson (77)
Attendance: 29,565
MOM: Emile Heskey (Reading)
I am slowly losing my patience with this side, I thought I had bought in top class players and it looks like I was mistaken, Dave Kitson and Emile Heskey were the only players wanting to win this match.

Reading Scorers: Dave Kitson (21, 65 & 74)
Watford Scorers: Iain Hume (12)
Attendance: 15,509
MOM: Dave Kitson (Reading)
At last a win, at long last my side has decided they don’t want to be known as losers, a Dave Kitson Hat Trick secured the points and hopefully has shown the rest of the team how to win matches.

3rd Round

Fulham Scorers: Paul Gallagher (44, 56) & Bernt Haas own goal (66)
Reading Scorers: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (4) & Dietmar Hamann (76)
Attendance: 15,708
MOM: Sean Thornton (Fulham)
Red Cards: Dave Kitson (Reading) (45)
I give up, I give up, I just can’t get Reading to do one simple thing, defend. They just don’t want to win a match under me, they seem to have one aim and that is to lose every match and get me sacked. Dave Kitson certain wants me to get sacked because he got himself sent off and Bernt Haas seems to be on the same accord after scoring a own goal.

Leeds Scorers: Shefki Kuqi (7)
Attendance: 26,350
MOM: Chris Riggott (Reading)
Reading Injuries: Sandro Bloudek (64)
Yet another disappointing loss and having made a decision of giving Reading 3 more games to prove to me they can win matches in a row they have lost the first of those three matches. If they lose the next game I will just resign because they apparently have a problem performing top class football under me and this is really depressing me.

Reading Scorers: Shane Paul (42) & Javi Garcia (70)
Attendance: 21,652
MOM: Shane Paul (Reading)
Now that’s the Reading I remember, goals from Shane Paul and Javi Garcia earns Reading a stay of execution. Reading controlled the match fully and never gave Derby a sniff at the goal.

Reading Scorers: Emile Heskey (20 & 89) & Dietmar Hamann (Pen 44)
Attendance: 26,483
MOM: Luca Castellazzi (Reading)
I’m staying for the time being at Reading it seems. Goals from Emile Heskey and Dietmar Hamman piled on the misery for Steff Browning as Wolves continued on the poor run of form.

Bristol City Scorers: Jason Kennedy (21) & David Lopez (37)
Attendance: 24,099
MOM: Brian McLean (Bristol City)
Back to the old losing ways and after this disappointing loss to bottom of the table side Bristol City. I think its time to move on

Kelly Dalgliesh: “Breaking news now in Tony Hall has apparently resigned as Reading Manager after 3 and a half Years with the club. A press conference has been called for by Tony Hall to explain his reasons for his resignation.”

Kelly Dalgliesh: "We now go live to the Madjeski Stadium for the press conference where Tony Hall is speaking."

At the Madjeski Stadium Conference Room where Tony Hall is sitting at the centre of the desk and starts to speak.

Tony Hall: "I would like to announce my resignation as Reading Manager. I have resigned for the resign that I feel the players have let me down, they do not have the passion to make Reading a successful club and I would recommend the next manager seriously consider selling the entire squad and rebuild it. I'd like to thank the spupports and the chairman for giving me their support and I wish the club success for the future."

[/b]Reporter:[/b] "Now that you have left Reading what will you be doing now? What are your plans?"

Tony Hall: "Well in the next few days I'm going off on a 2 week holiday to New York and when I return I shall be considering my options."

Eagles Glad All Over Europe?

November is knocking at the door and Palace still lay nicely poised in the league and exceeding expectations in Europe

The Bluebirds, fronted by fellow EFB manager Rob Perry were the first visitors of the month and they struggled to match the pace of this young Palace side in the first half. Andy Reid was first on the score sheet after just 6 minutes and Collins John added to his impressive season tally with Palaces second just after 20 minutes had elapsed. Cardiff believed they had a lifeline when Amarol reduced the deficit in the second half but Andy Johnson dashed those hopes just 2 minutes later when he struck the third for Palace and sealed the game at 3-1. Rouch congratulated Perry after the game on a fine game, but was relieved to have secured the bragging rights for now

Att : 37644
MOM : Ruben Ariel Olivera - 8 (Crystal Palace)
Referee – Phil Dowd
Weather – Dry 12c

Every now and then in a football season, a team hits their full potential and tears apart the opposition with embarrassing ferocity, that is what happened in this game as palace battered a bewildered Southampton! A hatrick for the ever improving Olivera, one from Diego, a penalty conversion from Anthony Vanden Borre and an own goal gave Palace a 6-0 win which neither flattered or deceived. A fine win and a vintage performance

Att : 29967
MOM : Ruben Ariel Olivera - 10 (Crystal Palace)
Referee – Andre Marriner
Weather – Dry 10c

After the footballing perfection that was the performance in the last game from Palace, a very lacklustre and wasteful performance in this one where the West Ham keeper managed to keep the hammers in the game and earned himself the Man of the Match award for his performance in the process.

Att : 35575
MOM : Roy Carroll - 8 (West Ham)
Referee – Andre Marriner
Weather – Dry 11c

Life with Palace at the moment is like a merry-go-round, the ride has stopped at perfection again in the penultimate Champions’ League group stage game. A new star is also born as Rouch fielded some fresher legs in this game. Nikola Zigic had scored twice in the first 5 minutes against the Italia Aristocrats, but his brace paled into insignificance against the performance of young Victor Moses. Making his senior debut for the club, having come up through the ranks and only just turned 18 years of age, the youngster impressed every one watching this enthralling match, and he is sure to be a prized asset for club and country! His performance and composure as he slotted in his 4 goals!, against Inter Milan!, in the Champions League!, on his debut!, at 18! shows a star in the making and everyone will be watching this boys progress from this point forward!, his own performance even managed to overshadow the fact that Crystal palace had just beaten Italian giants Inter 6-0!!

Att : 38878
MOM : Nikola Zigic - 10 (Crystal Palace)
Referee – Helmut Fleischer
Weather – Dry 11c

And this game was another event following the Lord Mayors show! Palace were on top but unable to score until the second half when Collins John netted first, only to see his effort ruled out by little Judas Cnutfaces equaliser. Yet another draw for the Palace

Att : 38992
MOM : Judas Cnutface - 9 (Spurs)
Referee – Mark Clattenburg
Weather – Dry 8c

Bolton gave Palace a scare mid way through the first half when Martin Lotka gave Bolton the lead after 27 minutes and put the Eagles on the back foot. Freddy Guarin retrieved the position for the visitors at the stroke of half time causing a massive psychological blow to the Wanderers. Before the whistle went though there was further controversy when a penalty was awarded to Crystal Palace, but Rob Perry’s cast off Figueroa missed from the spot! It looked like Bolton were going to hang on for the draw as the second half drifted by but Collins John popped up right at the end to steal it for the Eagles with a last gasp winner

Att : 28136
MOM : Freddy Guarin – 9 (Crystal Palace)
Referee – Dave Ward
Weather – Dry 10c

The final match of the month gave Palace an opportunity to reduce some of the gap between 4th and 2nd as the Palace travelled to Anfield. Both sides were looking to play attacking football and this provided a real spectacle for the fans. Hatem Ben Arfa, a onetime transfer target for Paul Rouch, was the first to break the deadlock but no one believed that would be the end of the scoring! 3 minutes into the second half Palace got their deserved equaliser when Kim Kallstrom struck home. The only surprise left in this game was that despite the attacking play, neither side could score again and the game finished a draw :thdn:

Att : 44458
MOM : John Arne Riise – 8 (Liverpool)
Referee – Peter Walton
Weather – Dry 13c

Monthly Round up

Crystal Palace Manager Paul Rouch was rewarded for his shrewd tactics with the runner up award in the Manager of the month award. Collins John continues to underline his importance to the team with his goals, assists and all round performance.

The Forest Frenzy - A new era at the City Ground begins!!!!!

After such as an amazing end to the season it was time for Hepburn and his players to go on holiday and relax before the really hard works begins again as Forest were back in the Premiership for the first time in years. Hepburn took himself and his army of women all over the Caribean before returning to the City Ground to start scouting for new players. He had already snapped up a couple of players before the end of the season but Hepburn wanted more as he did not want to just stay in the Premiership he wanted his team to make a huge impact. He has managed to secure the signatures of the following players:

Luka Modric AMLC - £4.3 million from Alaves - Superb signing of a very promising player who can play down the left and through the middle. Left hand side of midfield needed to be strengthened and HEpburn has found a beauty of a player.

Jeremie Aliaderie ST - Free transfer - Hepburn wanted a striker who could bang them in at the top level and in Aliaderie he certainly has that. Will compliment Harewood perfectly and should weigh in with a load of goals.

David Dunn AMRC - Free transfer - Another player brought in who has played at the top level in the Premiership and at international level. Should turn out to be a good signing.

Mathieu Flamini DM - Free transfer - Yet another top class player who wasn't getting anywhere at Arsenal so Hepburn gladly took him off their hands for free and will turn out to be a great signing.

Vincent Enyeama GK - Free transfer - This was the one position that Hepburn needed to strengthen as his team suffered last season with some real inept goalkeeping from both his keepers. When he heard this lad was out of contract, Hepburn snapped him up in a shot.

Jesus Navas AMR, ST - Free transfer - A truly sensational signing from Hepburn as this lad has the potential to be a world beater. He has all the talent in the world and Hepburn himself could not believe it when he agreed to join Nottingham Forest.

The players Hepburn has added are all of the highest quality and most have played at the top level. Hepburn was soon back on the training pitch barking orders at his players as he gets them in shape for the new season. It was off to Poland for a nice tour and to hopefully win a few matches, get the fitness up and Hepburn to add to his army of adoring women wherever he goes. Here are the results of the tour of Poland:

Polar v Nottingham Forest (A) - Sat 19th July 2008
Final Score - Polar 0 v 5 Nottingham Forest

Radomiak v Nottingham Forest (A) - Tues 22nd July 2008
Final Score - Radomiak 0 v 2 Nottingham Forest

Groclin v Nottingham Forest (A) - Thurs 24th July 2008
Final Score - Groclin 0 v 2 Nottingham Forest

Wisla Plock v Nottingham Forest (A) Sun 27th July 2008
Final Score - Wisla Plock 0 v 1 Nottingham Forest

A fantastic tour for Forest that proved very worthwhile in their prepartion of the new season. A few goals and none conceded had left Hepburn pleased at how his team were performing. Hepburn knew however the Premiership was a whole different kettle of fish and could not wait to get going.

The Forest Frenzy - The new season begins as Hepburn goes AWOL!!!!

After a great pre season for Forest, everyone at the club was looking forward to gettting the real action underway especially gaffer Hepburn. His team were looking in good shape and his new signings had bonded well. Here is the opening day fixture......

Premiership

Nottingham Forest v Man City (H) - Sat 9th August 2008

The new season began here and there was a full house inside the City Ground and it was packed to the rafters outside the stadium as no one wanted to miss Forest's Premiership opener against man City. There was a real sense of anticipation about the place and the atmosphere was just incredible. Forest were welcomed into the Premiership by Man City who had them defending for their lives in the first half and how they never scored is anyone's guess. Hepburn was happy to get his players in the dressing room and sort them out as they were all over the place. In the second half there was a huge change in the game and it was Forest who were having all the possession and creating chances as well. With fifteen minutes to go Marlon Harewood scored Forest's first Premiership goal and sent the crowd wild!!!! The scoring was not done there as in injury time new signing Jesus Navas scored his first goal for the club and sealed a glorious victory for Forest.

Final Score - Nottingham Forest 2 v 0 Man City
Goals - Forest - Harewood (75), Navas (90)
Att - 30594
MOTM - Luka Modric (Nottingham Forest)

A fantastic start for his new signings and Modric looks like he is gonna be a huge star at Forest judging by his first appearance in a Forest jersey.

In shocking news it has emerged that Nottingham Forest manager Andrew Hepburn has been sensationally kidnapped by Russian gangsters just hours after guiding his team to a 2-0 victory over Manchester City. Hepburn was last seen leaving the stadium about ten o' clock and it is thought these gangsters ambushed him and kinapped him. Police are appealing for witnesses in and around the City Ground area for any information regarding this matter. This has shocked the whole of football and lets hope Hepburn is returned safe and well after we find out what is going on with these gangsters!!!!

It is thought Roman Abramovich is behind Hepburn's kidnapping by of course he is denying any involvement in this sad incident.

Forest had to get on with things and Hepburn's assistant had to take over due to Hepburn's kidnapping. Here is how he got on for the remainder of the month:

Bolton v Nottingham Forest (A - Wed 13th August 2008
Final Score - Bolton 0 v 0 Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest v Aston Villa (H) - Sat 16th August 2008
Final Score - Nottingham Forest 2 v 0 Aston Villa

West Brom v Nottingham Forest (A) - Wed 20th August 2008
Final Score - West Brom 1 v 0 Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest v Cardiff (H) - Sun 24th August 2008
Final Score - Nottingham Forest 2 v 0 Cardiff

Hepburn's assistant and the team have done well so far in his absence but everyone is really not worrying about football at the moment as the search for Hepburn continues. The police are doing all they can but have nothing to go on at the moment.
