Reading Report
Session Date: 13th April 2006
Results
Reading Scorer: Dave Kitson (86)
Attendance: 24,106
MOM: Lee Cook (Q.P.R)
Good match from both sides but it all came to a head when Dave Kitson scored a late 86th minute goal, is the striker perhaps returning to form?
Leeds Scorer: Eddie Lewis (47)
Reading Scorers: Vincent Pericard (22 & 61) & Scott Golbourne (90)
Attendance: 28,861
MOM: Scott Golbourne (Reading)
Reading Injuries: Vincent Pericard (70)
Red Cards: Aaron Brown (Reading)
A game we won comfortably, although Aaron Brown didn’t help things by getting sent off early in the game, Vincent Pericard scored two brilliant goals to cement his status as the clubs top scorer, Scott Golbourne scored another goal to cement his first team position.
4th Round
Wolves Scorer: Mark Kennedy (4)
Attendance: 24,070
MOM: Stefan Postma (Wolves)
Disappointed to be kicked out of the FA Cup by a side who I believe were not the superior side in this match. Wolves scored a flukey 4th minute goal and then were forced to defend as Reading unleashed attack after attack on their goal but the 11 people in the Wolves defence kept the score line at 0-1 in Wolves favour leaving Reading to concentrate solely on promotion to the premiership.
Preston Scorers: Dave Nugent (45) & Paul McKenna (56)
Reading Scorers: Glen Little (25) & Vincent Pericard (38 & 72)
Attendance: 17,801
MOM: Steve Sidwell (Reading)
A very close match between the two sides after Reading went 2-0 up only to concede 2 sloppy goals but Vincent Pericard came to Reading’s rescue again to add his second goal of the game to end the match on a 2-3 scoreline in Reading’s favour.
Reading Scorer: Vincent Pericard (10)
Norwich Scorer: Ryan Jarvis (21)
Attendance: 24,109
MOM: Jurgen Colin (Norwich)
Red Cards: Dickson Etuhu (Norwich) (8)
A game I haven’t got the clue on how we did not win as in my opinion we outplayed Sandy’s Norwich and we had a one man advantage after Dickson Etuhu got himself a straight Red Card in the eighth minute. All I can say is Sandy certainly used the tactics well to put all his players in defence after getting his equaliser. However I do have to say it makes my proud to have Vincent Pericard score another and his third goal against Sandy in a week.
Reading Scorers: Vincent Pericard (86)
Attendance: 23,597
MOM: Steve Sidwell (Reading)
What can I say close match but yet again Vincent Pericard scores a late goal to give us the match. Pericard is having a stormer of a season at Reading and I hope that if we go up he can take the Premiership by storm as well.
Luton Scorer: Kevin Nicholls (15)
Reading Scorers: Dave Kitson (9 & 78), Leroy Lita (48) & Glen Little (90)
Attendance: 10,458
MOM: Glen Little (Reading)
Red Cards: David Bell (Luton) (30)
Reading are certainly on the promotion drive and with this result it will just give the players even more confidence of promotion. I decided to give Pericard a rest for this match and by the looks of the score line the team didn’t miss him as Leroy Lita returned from injury to score a goal and Dave Kitson returned to form and scored two goals and Glen Little scored from a wonderfully taken free kick.
Reading Scorers: Dave Kitson (Pen 9 & 12)
Attendance: 24,083
MOM: Dave Kitson (Reading)
Red Cards: Robert Page (Coventry) (69)
Dave Kitson has definitely returned to form, with his two goals Coventry didn’t have anything to answer to them so with this result it puts us up into 2nd and my hope of automatic promotion to the premiership is intact. I think 1st place is out of the question as Palace are unseemingly unstoppable and its out of Reading, Southampton and Wolves to get 2nd position. Championship Position at end of session: 2nd
