The Manc update

So here it goes, the exciting part of the season, who will stay up, who will get fired, who will win anything? With not long to go in the season the excitment is hotting up. Lets have a look at how Citeh fare in this exciting run-in.

Transfer News

Left winger Kily Gonzalez has join us on loan until the end of the season. Sun Jihai has been shipped off to PSV for a fee of 650k. Stephen Jordan left to Leeds for 875k and Robbie Fowler's loan has been stopped early in order for Tottenham's Eddie Johnson to come on loan.

Premiership

Manchester City 2 - 1 Wigan

Citeh go into the game as 5-4 favourites but I am expecting a tight affair. Dabo gives us the lead after only 5 minutes with a total fluke. But Wigan equalised 3 minutes later. Danny Mills scores what will turn out to be the winner after 35 minutes. At half time the commentators describe the game as thrilling, but to be honest it has been a pretty poor game from City. By the end of the game though a total of 21 shots were taken by Citeh.

Man City Scorers: Dabo(5), Mills(35)
Wigan Scorers: Landzaat(8)
Attendance: 47968
MotM: Richards (Man City)

A nice win there and we are now sitting in 8th place.

Premiership

Liverpool 1 - 0 Manchester City

So another game against one of the top 4 and this time I was determined not to concede so many. With a defensive formation set up it looked liek it might work. A lot of pressure from Liverpool was soaked up by the Citeh defence. But a goal from Bellamy after 30 minutes was enough to give the Pool the win.

Liverpool Scorers: Bellamy(30)
Attendance: 40512
MotM: Richards (Man City)

An unfortunate defeat but its good to see Micah Richards showing his potential with yet another man of the match award.

FA Cup 4th Round

Derby 4 - 2 Manchester City

A good chance to progress int he cup now but chossing to play an attacking style was obviously the wrong decision as Derby come straight out and score 3 goals in the first half hour. Into the second half and Citeh are given a break as Gonzalez is sent off for Derby with 40 minutes to go. And the comeback looked possible as Johnson and Beasley pull to within one. But Prive secures the win for Derby late on.

Derby Scorers: Oakley(pen15), Rubins(26), Smith(30), Price(88)
Man City Scorers: Johnson(67), Beasley(84)
Attendance: 21291
MotM: Rubins (Derby)

A totally humiliating display from the lads there and we are dumped straight out of the FA cup leaving us with no chance of silverware for the season.

Awards

As a result of some good performances this month, Micah Richards is awarded with the young player of the month award.

Premiership

Blackburn 0 - 2 Manchester City

So its time again for a game against Andy's Blackburn and Citeh are given the advantage after only 12 minutes as Savage is sent off for a savage tackle. Lebohang Mokoena grabs his first goal for Citeh after being granted a work permit to play. Into the second half and Samaras adds another to his huge tally after 79 minutes and gives Citeh the win.

Man City Scorers: Mokoena(25), Samaras(79)
Sent Off: Savage (12)
Attendance: 20725
MotM: Dunne (Man City)

A nice win against Andy there to keep us in 8th place.

Premiership

Manchester City 2 - 0 Sheffield United

So hopefully another win here to move us up with a chance of European football next season. And its loanee Johnson who gives us the lead after 6 minutes. And who else but Samaras to secure the win after 78 minutes.

Man City Scorers: Johnson(6), Samaras(78)
Attendance: 46905
MotM: Samaras (Man City)

So another win to take us into 7th place. Not too far off the Uefa cup spot. But next up is Chelsea at home.

Premiership

Manchester City 2 - 2 Chelsea

After the drubbing at Stamford Bridge I was hoping for something a bit better here. But the bookies had us written off as 4-1 underdogs. And it seemed rightly so after 26 minutes when Didi Drogba scored. But Chelsea seemed to go into a defensive mode after that goal and allowed us to come back into the game. But it was Arjen Robben who grabbed the second for Chelsea in the second half. And just as it looked like it would be one of those days Dunne gets his head onto a corner and makes it 2-1. 3 minutes later Samaras added yet another goal to the tally and grabs the point from Champions Chelsea.

Man City Scorers: Dunne(65), Samaras(68)
Chelsea Scorers: Drogba(26), Robben(51)
Attendance: 47908
MotM: Robben (Chelsea)

A nice draw against Chelsea there and how can anyone expect to compete when their subs bench consisted of Adriano and Robben??

Premiership

Charlton 2 - 1 Manchester City

An away game here and a chance to claw my way into the Uefa cup with only 7 points in the way. But after a boring first half it was Charlton who took the lead eraly in the second. Despite an equaliser from new boy Pocognoli it was Charlton who took the 3 points with a winner in the 77th minute.

Charlton Scorers: Holland(58), Clarkson(77)
Man City Scorers: Pocognoli(74)
Attendance: 27095
MotM: Johnson (Man City)

Awards

Another good month for Citeh and as a result I was placed 3rd in the manager of the month competition and Lebohang Mokoena was placed 3rd in both the player of the month and the young player of the month competitions.

Premiership

Manchester City 2 - 3 Newcastle United

With Tony gone his Newcastle side face a tricky trip to Manchester to face our in-form team. With only 10 games to go I am looking for as many points as possible. And Dabo fires in a free kick after 30 minutes. Into the second half and straight away Dabo adds a second. Just as its looking like a Citeh win the referee decides to intervene and sends of Dunne for a weak challenge in the boy, giving a penalty at the same time, which was scored by Rossi. More to come on the referees decision there. With the players still fuming at the decision Newcastle take advantage grabbing the equaliser in the 66th minute and the winner in 83.

Man City Scorers: Dabo(30, 45)
Newcastle Scorers: Rossi(pen48, 83), Martins(66)
Sent Off: Dunne (48) - Revoked
Attendance: 47999
MotM: Rossi (Newcastle)

I am absolutely outraged at the referees decision to send off Dunne in the last game and had no problem going to the FA about it. It took them only a few days to review the incident and agreed that I had a right to feel aggrieved. They revoked the ban, however that doesn't change the scoreline since it was the resulting penalty that gave Newcastle the way back into the game.

But that's it for this session and this is how the league looks with only 9 games to go.

The Rovers Record - It's getting worse and then Hepburn goes awol!!!!!

Just when Blackburn need their manager the most to try and get them out of the mess they are in he goes and leaves them in the lurch!!!!! Their poor run continued into the start of December and seemingly getting no better. This is verging on crisis as a club of Blackburn's quality should be no where near the bottom of the table but they lie in 17th position and so close to the relegation battle they can almost smell it. Lets find out the latest from Ewood Park.......

Premiership

Manchester Utd v Blackburn - (A) Sat 2nd December 2006

The signs were not good for Blackburn who had just recently received a beating off of a virtual Man Utd reserve side in the Carling Cup a couple of weeks ago. The last thing the Rovers needed was another trip to take on their first team with Rooney and Ronaldo waiting to add more misery to Hepburn. Another one sided affair and Freidel kept the score down with some fine saves. Saha got the all important goal for Utd but it could have been a lot more and Blackburn were yet again very poor.

Final Score - Man Utd 1 v 0 Blackburn
Goals - Man Utd - Saha (11)
Att - 76200
MOTM - James McEveley (Blackburn)

Premiership

Blackburn v Bolton - (H) Sun 10th December 2006

A much better performance from Blackburn against a tough Bolton side intent on playing for a point. Rovers had real trouble trying to break their defence down but David Bentley could not be prevented as he fired in a glorious free kick from outside the penalty box. It looked as if all three points were staying at Ewood park until the 89th minute when Pedersen fired home an equaliser that was deserved in the end. Better from the Rovers but not good enough.

Final Score - Blackburn 1 v 1 Bolton
Goals - Blackburn - Bentley (63)
Goals - Bolton - Pedersen (89)
Att - 26451
MOTM - Gary Speed (Bolton)

Hepburn then went awol without telling anyone what was going on. It turned out to be family troubles back in Scotland he had to go back and sort out but he still left the Rovers in the lurch much to the annoyance of everyone at the club. While he was away assistant Mark Bowen did a good job on keeping Rovers ticking while he was gone. Here is how he got on......

Sheffield Utd v Blackburn - (A) Wed 13th December 2006
Final Score - Sheffield Utd 2 v 3 Blackburn

Everton v Blackburn - (A) Sat 16th December 2006
Final Score - Everton 0 v 0 Blackburn

Blackburn v Fulham - (H) Sat 23rd December 2006
Final Score - Blackburn 1 v 2 Fulham

Blackburn v Reading - (H) Tues 26th December 2006
Final Score - Blackburn 0 v 1 Reading

West Ham v Blackburn - (A) Sat 30th December 2006
Final Score - West Ham 3 v 0 Blackburn

So a poor end to the year for Rovers as they suffered three losses after a small turnaround in their fortunes at the start of the month. Lets hope 2007 brings a bit more success for the Rovers as they battle their way up the table to a decent league position.

Things down at the lane seem to be hotting up with the end of season in site will spurs be able to hold on to the Champions League spot they been after for years.....

Sheff Utd 0 Tottenham 2
Attendance 24704
Just like so many times this season Dimitar Berbatov opens the scoring for spurs this one on 45mins,Jenas then added the 2nd to secure the 3points.
Man Of The Match Dimitar Berbatov 8

Tottenham 3 Charlton Ath 0
Attendance 36227
Bit of a odd one this Berbatov opened from the spot on 65mins when Defoe was pulled down by out coming keeper Carson, he stayed on the pitch recieving only a yellow for his troubles,he would then let slip a easy tap in by Defoe on 68mins. Bet he wished he was off after those 2 goals but further more he couldnt stop Dempsey from slamming home the 3rd from the spot on 89mins to seal the win for Spurs as the CL push continues.
Man Of The Match Jermaine Jenas 9

UEFA Cup 1st Knockout Round 1st Leg

Villarreal 2 Tottenham 2
Attendance 22966
Clint Dempsey got spurs off to a dream start when he put them ahead on 19mins but then dreams turned to nightmares as Nihat went on the rampage scoring on 49mins before Defoe put spurs back in front on 52 but Nihat ruined the away win on 94mins with a simple tap in to take Tottenham back to WHL with the 2 away goals.
Man Of The Match Nihat 8

Fa Cup 5th Round

Tottenham 2 Bolton 0
Attendance 28419
Tottenham really wanted to win the Fa Cup this season and a good win here would set them on there way Defoe got both in this encounter his first on 13mins and his second on 44mins, Bolton couldnt find a way to break down the solid backline and this stayed 2-0
Man Of The Match Jermain Defoe 9

UEFA Cup 1st Knockout Round 2nd Leg

Tottenham 4 Villarreal 1
Attendance 34005
Nihat opened the scoring for Villarreal and spurs mustve thought the dream was gonna come slamming to a hault but for Defoe he made it 1-1 on 11mins, Dempsey enjoying a good run in the team at present made it 2-1 on 20mins before Berbatov made it 3-1 6mins later, Defoe then sent Spurs fans wild in the stands with a thunderos drive on 48mins to give them the win and advance to the next round.
Man Of The Match Jermain Defoe 10

now the cups take a break for a bit and its back to the premiership......

Newcastle 2 Tottenham 1
Attendance 51637
Seems Van Gaal can do what Tony Hall couldnt do hes got Newcastle climbing the table and they deserved this well earned 3points Martins opened on 5mins to give the geordies the lead but Defoe made it 1-1 on 38mins, Martins popped up again on 57mins to seal the victory for the dutchmans geordies.
Man Of The Match Shay Given 9

Tottenham 1 Arsenal 2
Attendance 36238
Fierce rivals as you well know but one hell of a game here Henry put Arsenal up after just 5mins and Defoe made it 1-1 on 45mins looked like heading for a draw, which spurs wouldnt of minded at all but Henry sent the spurs faithful home in tears as he scored a cracker from 35yards out on 82mins to give the gunners the vital 3points.
Man Of The Match Thierry Henry 9

Uefa Cup 2nd Knockout Round 1st Leg

Tottenham 2 Legia 1
Attendance 32295
Uefa cup football at the lane again and it looks like spurs wanna win this trophy more and more as it progresses, some great football in this one Zaccardo opened for spurs on 9mins but a mistake by Maduro put Legia back into it when he knocked it into his own net on 11mins, not to worry Jenas popped up on 32mins to give spurs the lead again and seal the 3points.
Man Of The Match Jermaine Jenas 8

Fa Cup 6th Round

Newcastle 2 Tottenham 1
Attendance 52366
Newcastle ended Tottenhams Fa Cup run here in bizarre fashion Defoe put spurs up 1-0 from the spot on 10mins Rossi then missed a pen for Newcastle on the half hour then 12mins later was sent off for a challenge on Maduro, Damien Duff came on for Taylor and they went to a weird formation with 3 back anyhow Duff then scored to make it 1-1 on 69mins and 3mins later Martins who was clearly offside scored to give them the win, Perry was then reported to the Fa for his behavior after the match and now faces a touchline ban.
Man Of The Match Obafemi Martins 8

Uefa Cup 2nd Knockout Round 2nd Leg

Legia 0 Tottenham 3
Attendance 10651
Tottenham upset at the way they went out the Fa Cup came here looking to revenge that loss and they did it in style Defoe put them up 1-0 on 34mins Dempsey made it 2-0 on 52mins before McBride in a rare start made it 3-0 on 58mins, thats how this one ended as they move on to the next round
Man Of The Match Luka Modric 9

Man Utd 3 Tottenham 0
Attendance 70596
League form dipping for spurs at the moment but hopefully they can still gain the Champions League spot Rooney opened on 24mins in this one and Ronaldo made it 2-0 on 67mins before Solskjaer sealed the win on 77mins
Man Of The Match Gary Neville 9

Tottenham 4 Bolton 0
Attendance 31244
Perry signed a new deal before this game and Chairman David Levy said it was vital to have it done so they can now move on Defoe opened the scoring after 13mins he then added no2 on the hour before Berbatov made it 3-0 on 74mins and then Lennon on 87mins to earn a vital victory at home.
Man Of The Match Dimitar Berbatov 10

Stay tuned for more from WHL as the Uefa Cup seems to be hotting up and the League looks pretty damn good too........

Pompey still clear of the relegation zone, has unknown Scots manager got it right?

Sunday 17th December 2006: Portsmouth v Man City: Premiership: 2-2 draw

A tough match that saw me come up against fellow unknown Scottish diddy David Johnston as his Man City side visited Fratton Park for the first time.
After a tense opening period where both teams tried to get a feel for each other the game was suddenly sprung into life when Nwanchwo Kanu fired home from the edge of the box in the 27th minute. To their credit City battled back and created a few good chances and their perseverance finally paid off in the 42nd minute as Bernardo Corradi pulled them level. There wasn’t much of a wait for a goal to come in the second half and it came our way as Manuel Fernandes out jumped his marker to head home to restore our advantage. But as in the first half Man City pushed forward in search of an equalizer and again they got their reward through Giorgos Samaras in the 67th minute.
That’s the way the score stayed until the final whistle; I feel we had enough chances to win this game and can’t help feeling a little disappointed we only managed to take a single point instead of all three.

Saturday 23rd December 2006: Wigan v Portsmouth: Premiership: 2-1 loss

A woeful performance from my lads, the score flatters us as we deserved to lose this match much more than a single goal.
Emile Heskey set the mighty Wigan on their way in the 34th minute, and somehow by the grace of god Wigan weren’t 5-0 up by the time the half time whistle sounded.
Someone up there must like us as in the 68th minute and totally against the run of play Manuel Fernandes pulled us level. We looked like we could somehow hang on for the draw until Dave Cotterill struck six minutes from time to wrap up the points.
If the Wigan strikers had their shooting boots on today this could have easily ended five or six nil.

Tuesday 26th December 2006: Liverpool v Portsmouth: Premiership: 2-1 loss

Regardless of the mismatch this game looked on paper it was actually a very open flowing game of football, with either side creating enough chances to win the game.
Craig Bellamy gave the Anfield side the lead in the 22nd minute and Steven Gerrard looked like he had set Liverpool on their way to comfortable victory with his 41st minute strike to give Liverpool a two goal cushion.
Pompey staged something a revival in the second half and had our strikers been a little more focused on the task at hand we might have come away with at least a draw, sadly we had to settle for Gary O’Neil’s solitary strike in the final minute of the game.

Monday 1st January 2007: Blackburn v Portsmouth: Premiership: 2-1 loss

Happy New Year! Or not!
As Blackburn’s first foot of the New Year we decided to bring them a gift of three points.
Paul Gallagher set the home side on their way in the 34th minute after taking advantage of some schoolboy defending from my lot. Benjani pulled us level in the 52nd minute with a wonderful piece of individual skill. Things where looking good for a point when suddenly in the final minute of the game the schoolboy defending returned to haunt as Gallagher found himself in plenty of space and was able to coolly slot the ball past the helpless David James.

Saturday 6th January 2007: Tottenham v Portsmouth: FA Cup Third Round: 2-1 loss

Our FA cup adventure didn’t last very long, did it?
A Judas Defoe penalty game Spurs an undeserved lead in the 42nd minute, clearly a dive and the worst refereeing decision I’ve seen in a long time. More of the same crap in the second half as Spurs raced into a 2-0 lead through everyone’s favourite Judas in the 56th minute. We pulled one back two minutes later through Benjani but alas couldn’t build on it.
Really gutted to go out of the cup when he had some many chances but sometimes it just isn’t your day and we have to accept that.

Saturday 13th January 2007: Portsmouth v Sheff Utd: Premiership: 5-0 win

The perfect pick me up to get over last week’s exit from the FA cup.
Niko Kranjcar set us on our way in the 29th minute and Benjani added the second right on the stroke of half time. We started the second half brightly and it wasn’t long before we had increased our advantage, this time through Ognjen Koroman in the 52nd minute. Benjani was on hand again in the 82nd minute to grab his second of the game. Mido completed the rout in the 89th minute with a fine strike.
Sheff Utd also suffered from a severe lack of discipline in this match having no fewer than three players sent off, Claude Davis in the 38th minute , David Unsworth and Rob Kozluk both in the final minutes of the game.

Wednesday 17th January 2007: Portsmouth v Chelsea: Premiership: 2-1 loss

Up against the billionaires in this one and I feel we had done at least enough to take at least a point from this match.
Things looked very good for us as we stormed into the lead in the 32nd minute through new signing Manuel Fernandes. We managed to cling on to our lead until the 74th minute when Luke Moore struck to level the match up, before we could even regroup and get ourselves organised Chelsea had taken the lead a mere minute later through Arjen Robben.

Saturday 20th January 2007: Charlton v Portsmouth: Premiership: 2-0 win

Back to winning ways after our misfortune against Chelsea.
Benjani opened the scoring in the 12th minute and although we created more chances in the first half we weren’t able to take advantage of them.
The second half was more of the same as we couldn’t take advantage of the chances we created; we finally wrapped the game up in the 80th minute as Mido headed home from close range.

Wednesday 31st January 2007: Portsmouth v Newcastle: Premiership: 2-1 loss

Newcastle done most of the hard work in this match in the first 30mins and it proved enough to secure all three points for the visitors.
Obafemi Martins gave them the lead in the 16th minute; he was on hand again in the 29th minute to double the score for his side. Per Ciljan Skjelbred, on loan from Spurs, pulled one back for us in the 38th minute but we never really looking like causing Newcastle any real problems.

Saturday 3rd February 2007: Arsenal v Portsmouth: Premiership: 4-3 loss

A cracker of a match this one as the teams shared seven goals between them, the only downside to that is there had to be a loser.
The fans didn’t have to wait long for the goals to start flowing, Thierry Henry set the home side on their way in the 4th minute, and Henry was on hand again to double the score for Arsenal in the 18th minute. Pedro Mendes pulled us back into the game in the 24th minute with a nice piece of skill, Arsenal however didn’t have to wait long before they found themselves with their two goal advantage restored as Emmanuel Adabayor coolly slotted home. As the second half got underway Arsenal sought to put the game out of sight, they appeared to have achieved their aim in the 64th minute as Julio Baptista blasted them into a 4-1 advantage. A mere sixty seconds later Garry O’Neil pulled another one back for us as we looked to get back into the match somehow. Benjani pulled a goal back in the 89th minute but it just wasn’t to be.

Saturday 10th February 2007: Portsmouth v Man Utd: Premiership: 4-3 loss

For the second time in a week we took three goals off one of the most fancied teams in the country and still managed to lose.
Wayne Rooney gave Man Utd the lead in the 28th minute, before adding his second of the match in the 36th minute, Rooney secured his hat trick in the 40th minute and their looked to be no way back for Portsmouth. Mido started the Pompey fight back in the 41st minute and quickly grabbed a second in the 44th minute. We started the second with more fight about us but still couldn’t find the elusive third goal and it was Man Utd who grabbed the next goal of the game through Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the 76th minute, Pedro Mendes put us back within a goal of Utd with his 82nd minute strike but we couldn’t find the equalizer as Man Utd ran out 4-3 winners.

Saturday 24th February 2007: Bolton v Portsmouth: Premiership: 2-2 draw

Another very open match this one, too open for my liking, we really need to work on our defending.
Kevin Nolan put Bolton into the lead with his 5th minute header from close range.
Benjani pulled us level two minutes from half time, but two minutes later Nolan struck his second goal of the game to put Bolton back into the lead.
Mido scored in the 68th minute and his goal proved enough to secure a point from the game.

Saturday 3rd March 2007: Portsmouth v Everton: Premiership: 3-1 win

Could Everton have a worse manager?
As they find themselves near the foot of the table they really needed to take three points from this game in order to start their climb up the table, sadly it wasn’t to happen this time around.
Mido opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before Benjani made it 2-0 in the 33rd minute.
Benjani added another in the second half (54th min) Tim Cahill pulled a consolation goal back for Everton in the dying seconds of the match.

Saturday 17th March 2007: Fulham v Portsmouth: Premiership: 2-1 loss

A game we really should have won this one, but alas we didn’t.
Bjorn Runstrom opened the scoring Fulham with only 4 minutes on the clock.
After this the game became very dull until the 80th minute when Benjani looked to have secured a point for my misfits until Tomasz Radzinski struck with only four minutes remaining to grab all three points for the home team.

Saturday 31st March 2007: Portsmouth v Reading: Premiership: 1-0 loss

An utterly rubbish match in which there was only one major highlight which was Kevin Doyle’s goal for Reading in the 68th minute, an utterly poor performance.

More from WHL as the season draws to a close who will play Champions League football next season well lets find out........

UEFA Cup Quarter Final 1st Leg

Benfica 2 Tottenham 0
Attendance 48553
Tottenham went to Portugal looking to come away with something to help them out in the next game but went away empty handed as Benfica marched on dos Santos on loan from Barcelona opened first for Benfica on 14mins and he showed Barca just what they missing with a cracking strike, Simao then headed them further into the lead just before the hour and it stayed like that till the end.
MOM Simao 8

Everton 0 Tottenham 0
Attendance 33427
Steve Gold's Everton looking to survive the dropped played a excellent game here and deserved the point even know I believe when Andy Johnson hit the net it shouldnt of been ruled offside (glad it was)Zokora was sent off after only 18mins and Everton couldnt capitalise on the extra man This one ended 0-0 but Goldies Blue Army marched on.
MOM Tim Cahill 8

Tottenham 1 Fulham 0
Attendance 36256
A wonderfully struck 77th min freekick by Anthony Vanden Borre was enough to give Spurs the win in this close encounter.
MOM Ledley King 8

UEFA Cup Quarter Final 2nd Leg

Tottenham 1 Benfica 0
Attendance 34860
All Benfica had to do was defend the lead they had from the first leg and they where into the semi final and defend they did until Defoe scored on 15mins to give the home side some hope, but it wasnt to be as every attack was shut down as soon as it started and spurs crashed out of europe.
MOM Ekotto 9

Reading 1 Tottenham 3
Attendance 24204
Nick Shorey got Reading off to a flyer putting them into the lead on 9mins and they looked like they might steal it here but Ingimarsson put into his own net on 52mins, then 2 late goals Jenas on 87mins and Dempsey on 90mins sealed the win for the visitors.
MOM Hedwiges Maduro 9

Tottenham 4 West Ham 0
Attendance 36253
Tottenham where told at the beginning of this match to take it easy by West Ham manager Paul Rouch well that fired em up even more and they proved what a good side they had become Maduro opened after only 4mins Ziegler then added no2 on 36mins Berbatov added to his tally for the season on 63mins and 'Judas" as the crowd called him from the West Ham end had the last laugh when he slotted home on 80th min to give Spurs a well earned victory.
MOM Dimitar Berbatov 10

Portsmouth 3 Tottenham 3
Attendance 20267
Very entertaining game this one Defoe put Spurs 1 up on 34mins and Arshavin made it 1-1 on 49mins he then added no2 on 55mins to give Pompey the lead before Berbatov made it 2-2 on 62mins it stayed that way till Fernandes silenced the away crowd with a stunning drive on 82mins only for Berbatov to do the same 6mins later to earn each side a point, Steff Browning's side looked dangerous on the break and next season I think will finish top 4 on this performance.
MOM Arshavin 8

Tottenham 1 Middlesbrough 1
Attendance 35347
Playing for places comes into play now as Tottenham go for a Champions League place 2nd before kick off Defoe opened the scoring on 35mins and they looked like it could be Spurs day until the 68min when Julio Arca struck a 40yard shot into the back of the net to tie it up and thats how it ended.
MOM Mark Schwarzer 8

Watford 2 Tottenham 4
Attendance 19480
So with Watford down Tottenham needing 1 point to finish 3rd they set about spoiling Tottenhams day DeMerit put Watford 1 up on 15mins which didnt last long as Ziegler made it 1-1 2mins later then Berbatov made it 2-1 to Spurs on 22mins Bangura made it 2-2 on 29mins, Defoe made it 3-2 on 39mins and at half time Spurs would go in the more happier side they came out in the second half and scored quickly through Defoe on 49mins and thats how it ended, so Champions League football finally at WHL...
MOM Jermain Defoe 9

Seasons awards have come in and Aaron Lennon has won the young player of the year award, Luka Modric finishing 3rd in the voting also. In the English Footballer of the year award Dimitar Berbatov walked away with the top prize Jermaine Jenas finishing 3rd in that pole. Dimitar Berbatov also finished 3rd in Premiership Top Scorers table with 23

Tottenham's Top Scorers
1 Jermain Defoe 40 2 Dimitar Berbatov 33 and 3 Jermaine Jenas and Clint Dempsey 10 each

More from WHL next season stay tuned to see how the spurs get on in Champions League Football

Welcome to the end of season report

Our first season started out a bit slow we had a crash but was able to get back on track and last night we finished the first season some odd stuff happening at the end but you will see later on from screenshots Ill post anyway on with it.

Carling Cup Final
Seemed like one heck of a game Liverpool opening early but United coming back into it but in the end Liverpool dare I say deserved winners.

FA Cup Final
This one didnt live up to the hype of previous finals with 2 smaller clubs contesting the final and Wigan coming out on top.

JP Trophy
The little clubs cup final I call this one The Johnstones Paint Trophy saw Swansea dominate in the final as they smashed Bradford for 5.

Premiership Table
The final table shows hard work by Tottenham and many other human managers to get european places,Goldy came into force at the end and survived the drop and Sandy just sneaking a european place ahead of Dave's Citeh.

Championship Table
Looking forward to seeing Wolves and Sunderland back in the bigtime lets see if they can cause a stir this time round.

League One Table
Millwall back to the Championship along with Crewe, Nottm Forest fail to impress yet again!

Leasue Two Table
Poor old Barnet cant seem to stay in the league very long at all bouncing up and down like a yoyo, Hartlepool move back up to League One and can the MK Dons make it back to the big time like the team before them Wimbledon did ??

UEFA Cup Final
This one couldve been so different had myself and rouchie made it to the final but Benfica killed us both off but werent good enough to defeat Arsenal in the final.

Champions League Final
Again this one couldve been so different right till the death in the semi finals both of these teams where losing and both Milan sides couldve been in the final but I guess luck was on Porto and Bremens side that night.

Premiership and Championship End Of Season Summary

League One and Two End Of Season Summary

Other Awards Summary

So all in all a successful season in our debut season for Fm2007 stay tuned to what will become one of the best clans around for this version and we move on and upwards.
