*News Flash*

Latest news is that due to ongoing mental health problems Manchester City boss Stuart Pearce has endured over the last eighteen months, chairman John Wardle has decided to terminate Mr Pearce's contract with immediate effect.

The final straw for the chairman came at the AGM when Pearce appeared to be responding to voices and hallucinations, since this the national tabloids have jumped on the bandwagon with their usual style and sophistication.

"Drug induced psychosis" - Daily Mirror

"Schizo Stuart Sacked" - The Sun

"Voices were picking the team" - 1st team squad member

With City languishing in mid-table a hurried appointment has been made, with ex-Sunday league footballer 32 year old Jeff Gallagher the surprise choice for top at the City of Manchester Stadium.

This maintains the strong link that City have had with Liverpool over the last few years with Mr Gallagher being a scouser and a lifelong Liverpudlian.

John Wardle has given Jeff Gallagher his full support and expects Manchester City to be challenging for honours in the next 'few' years and for the immediate future to restore City to at least a top eight Premiership side.

Jeff Gallagher had this to say at the following press conference:

"I am highly honoured to be given this oppurtunity of managing of what I percieve as one of the top teams in the country, they have a renowned fan base and a superb staduim. To be honest, with the foundations in place ie - the youth team and decent first team squad I am grateful to Mr Pearce that I dont have as much work to do in that department as I first anticipated."

Gallagher was also asked his thoughts regarding the dismissal of Stuart Pearce:

"On a personal level I feel real empathy for the guy, I just hope he gets the required level of treatment he deserves as he has been an amazing servant to both Manchester City and England over the years. On the other hand Sutart's well documented problems have given me this wonderful oppurtunity which I plan to grasp with both hands."

Manchester Evening News - Fan Quotes:

- "An ex sunday league footballer? Do me a favour!"
- "Well, he can't do any worse than Psycho can he!"
- "I like the guy, he seems honest and ambitious, best of luck to him."

Rams Charge Forward With New Gaffer

After Derby Chairman Peter Gadsby gave Billy Davies the shove after just a few week in charge, suspicion was surrounding that the club were in turmoil, suspicion turned to anger when Gadsby introduced new rookie manager Ant Banach would be in charge of the club for the forseeable future signing a 2 year contract.

This is what Banach had to say on the matter
Quote:
I know alot of people are not happy with the way things have gone on in the past month, but people dont know what has gone on after the rumours that Billy Davies had touched children there was no way he could carry on in this job, im going that i can transfer my enthusiasm into results on the pitch for the fans.
After making a clear statment of the matter Banach hastely retreated into the boardroom to knuckle down to business

With only £100,000 in the kitty it was going to be easy to bolster the squad. First task was to generate revenue from the sales of fringe players and players who didnt feature in my plans. With 3 Goalkeepers i decided to let Lee Grant to leave he agreed a deal with Luton for £500k. With a healthy amount of cash available i decided to spend all of it on Czech winger Tomas Michalek from Wisla Plock.
Deals were also lined up for emphatic goal machine Mikael Dahlberg on a free transfer, he will join in December.
Doriva was also added on a short term basis for cover for the first team.
With the Derby board refusing to offer anything else in the way of cash the only other alternative was to use my contacts and line up a few loan deals, mainly with Middlesbrough and Fulham.

Firstly the 2 lads from Boro were Andrew Davies a versatile defender who had been loaned to Derby in the past and left back Kenny Thompson who Middlesbrough had just signed regarding him as one for the future.
Again 2 players agreed to sign this time due to Ben Austin allowing me to talk to them, Gabriel Zakuani a strong central defender who i now regard as my captain, and Chris James a flamboyant creative midfielder.

So this time of year has risen upon us... Let the games begin!

Derby 0 - 0 West Bromich Albion

A sell out Pride Park hosted Derby's first game of the season which was good to see following all the negativitey in the past months

It was going to be a tricky task up against recently relegated WBA, Razor was in charge and after he had secured some quality players I wasnt looking forward to this one.

Not much happened to be honest and i was definately the more happier of the 2 managers come the end of this game.

Hull 4 - 1 Derby

Not really sure what went wrong here but the flood gates opened after we went down to 10 men and some idiot got sent off.

Lupoli equalised at some time in the second half but having 10 men really affected usand we lost our way with Hull sealing a deserved victory.

Derby 0 - 0 Colchester

Another game in which chances were wasted by the offence, we had several glorious chances to take the 3 points but my players had their minds on other things like the Lee Owens sex tape which had just appeared on the internet.

QPR 0 - 0 Derby

A lack luster performance if im honest, we didnt deserve to win it, it was only thanks to the heroics of goalkeeper Lee Camp that prevented the score line being anything different.

Macclesfield 1 - 8 Derby
League Cup

This result came right out of the blue, after 3 crap performances i decided to mix things up a bit and made a few changes and boy did it work.

With the scoreline 5-0 at half time, not even these players could not win now.

Anyway it ended 8-1 which was of great relief to finally see some goals go in even if it was in the league cup

Derby 1 - 0 Southampton

On the back of the drubbing of Macclesfield my players were fired up to hit the target like they had done in the last game.

All be it not to the same scale, we still were victorious with a fine goal coming courtesy of Steve Howards head.

Southend 3 - 2 Derby

A game we played fairly well in and deserved something out of, Johnson & Howard put Derby 2-0 up in the first half before long it was 2-2 and in the 90th minute a sucker punch was inflicted as a deflecting long range shot trickeled across the line to give Southend the three points.

Derby 1 - 0 Preston

This was a well contested battle which could of swung either way if it wasnt for some top notch defending from the Derby lads

Howard scored his second of the season to give Derby the in.

Sunderland (Mike) 1 - 1 Deby

Not sure how we got a point out of this it was constant bombardment from the Sunderland front line

They went ahead deservedly just after the break, but a well worked moved carved a gap in the Sunderland back four and Lupoli cooly slotted home the equaliser.

Derby 1 - 0 Barnsley

Third 1-0 of the season a game we should of won by more goals but for some fine goalkeeping by Barnsley.
Chris James scored the only goal.

Derby 3 - 3 Middlesbrough
League Cup 2nd Round

Derby were always up against it against the premiership quality and with 2 of my best defenders unable to play due to being on loan from Boro we were quite frankly **** at the back.

Boro kept going in front but somehow we kept pegging them back, at the end of full time it was 2-2.

Boro started extra time well and scored early, only for them us to equalise in the dieing seconds so the game went to penalties which we ultimately lost due to my team deciding they would rather hir them over and wide than in the goal.

Coventry 1 - 0 Derby

This kept up our abysmal away form in front of the sky tv camera's, we played crap deserved nothing end of story.

Derby 0 - 3 Norwich

We were in a real mess, the fans were starting to get on my back and my players couldnt hit a barn door thing weren't looking good at all.

A defensive nightmare for the back 4 as they let slip 2 goals from set pieces i would of expected them to defend better.

Wolves 1 - 1 Derby

Our search for an away win continued after a better performace then we had shown previously.

Bisgaard was on hand to smash home a fine goal from a tight angle, only to see Wolves equalise towards the end.

After this game i re-shuffled my idea's and decided to change to a more attackive and attractivr tactic hoping to see an improvment from my team.

Derby 1 - 0 Crystal Palce

Just what I had been hoping for, a decent performace and a clean sheet.

Stoke 0 - 3 Derby

Hoorah! finally an away win Stoke only had 1 shot in the goal game which showed how much we dominated the game from start to finish.

Howard,James & Lupoli were the 3 goalscorer who have us the three points to help climb the table.

Luton 1 - 0 Derby

Im sure Luton were told just to go out and injure my players on purpose as i had to make 3 changes which probably changed the game, and the linesman disallowed a decent goal for us the *****.

Luton scored towards the end to make sure they won.

Derby 3 - 1 Leeds

A really solid performance one in which we badly needed and leeds were playing crap so we should have won Howard got 2 of our goals to give us a nice win.

This left us in 14th place in the table relatively close to the playoff spots and relegation, and with plymouth in front of us it was quite embarassing.

More to come...
