Preston North End today parted company with manager Paul Simpson, the reason as to his dismissal not yet revealed, but the growing reports of player unrest the most likely reason.
The club moved quickly and appointed young rookie manager Craig Carr, who had been in charge of Glasgow Rangers under 21's. The club released a statement that care had been brought in to bring players into line, following his no-nonesense style of man management.
With some supporters unhappy with Carr's appointment, only time will tell to see how long this young manager will last. Carr had this to say at the press conference:
''I feel very honoured that Preston have giving myself the opportunity to manage at this level, giving that i havent got the credentials on my c.v that other applicants had. I hope to repay the faith shown in myself with automatic promotion to the top flight, a level i feel this wonderfull club should be''

Having been told by the chairman not to come to his office door asking for money, i knew right away that i was up against a big task to get the club moving in the right direction. After asssessing the current crop of players i realised i needed two thing urgently......... experienced players with the right mixture of young players. With no money i had to look at released players and loans.
I move quickly and brought these players in:
IN: Ronald Waterreus(GK)- Experienced keeper with alot to offer this division
Luigi Di Biagio (DC, MC)- hard tackling midfielder who has played at the top, who can drop back if needed.
OUT: Matt Hill- Reading £120k- not needed at the club and moved on.
LOANS IN: Jimmy Smith(AMRC)-Chelsea- young midfielder looking to prove he has what it takes.
Scott Sinclair(ST)-Chelsea-young striker with alot of potential and highly regarded at The Bridge.
Jamie Mole(ST)-Hearts- brought in as back up incase of any injurys to front players.
Rocco Quinn(MC)-Celtic- player with potential and one i will be hoping to keep if promoted.

Crystal Palace strives for GLORY! This years squad will be one for the record books! Some instant changes were felt necessary by new manager Brian Alvarez. With an already 'better than average' kitty then his competition, Alvarez managed to snag some more revenue for squad upgrades. This window was an active one for my boys. Spending roughly £ 700k i was able to tie up some of the teams loose ends. Some of which include: In
Pawel Golanski-525k
Sherman Cardenas-150k
Ismael-18k
Charles-Andre Doudin-Free
Benoit Costil-700k
The preseason this year was packed. In order to grasp a full feel of the team, I booked 10 friendlies. To be fair, the preseason went very well for us as we managed to go 3 Wins 3 Draws and 4 Losses. Losses coming from teams such as Arsenal Reserves, Ajax, Inter, and Chelsea.
After the first 12 games, we've managed to be in the middle of the pack in position 12 with a record of 4W 5D 3L . Tough losses coming from Leeds (0-2), QPR (1-4), Leicester (1-2)
Right now we're well under our Media Prediction of 5th, but there still a lot of season left to be played.
Over and Out
Brian

Rep Power: 0 | To get to the top , you first have to reach the bottom.
Well as with any season there has been a few highs and a few lows as we reach the half way point in the season, although far too many lows for my liking. Sunderland (H) 3-1 McKenzie, Kyle, Norris
Ipswich (A) 1-5 Maynard
Barnsley (H) 1-1 Maynard
Wolverhampton Wanderers (A) 1-2 McKenzie
(LC) MK Dons (H) 1-1 (6-5 on penalties) Maynard
Leeds (H) 2-1 Wotton, Maynard
Plymouth (A) 2-2 Mckenzie, Kyle
Preston North End (H) 2-2 Maynard (2)
Luton Town (H) 0-1
Queens Park Rangers (A) 0-2
(LC) Millwall (A) 3-1 Kyle (2) , Maynard
Stoke City (A) 0-1
Southampton (H) 2-3 Ward, Kyle
Leicester City (A) 1-3 Maynard
Norwich City (H) 1-2 Kyle
(LC) Doncaster Rovers (H) 1-2 Wotton
Sheffield Wednsesday (A) 2-1 Norris, McKenzie
West Bromich Albion (H) 0-0
Cardiff City (A) 1-3 Birchall
Burnley (H) 0-0
Derby County (A) 1-0 Adebola
Colchester United (H) 2-0 Adebola, West
Crystal Palace (A) 0-2
Hull City (H) 2-0 Wotton , Adebola
Southend (A) 0-1
Sunderland (A) 0-3 Position: 22nd Quote: Managers Comment Whitworth: There are a few things that have pleased me this season and a few things that I haven't been happy about. One of the positive points about this season is the emergance of young Nicky Mard whom we signed from Crewe at the start of the season, he has took the pressure in his stride to become our top goalscorer at the moment with 8 goals.
One of the negatives that have come from this season so far is our leaking defence , I thought when I brought John Potter & Lee Grant that it would shore up the defence but it doesn't seem to have gel'ed yet and this has cost us a few games this season especially the defeats against Luton and Cardiff and the draw against Barnsley early on in the season, to rectify this I am planning on bringing in 1 or 2 new players to help out with the defence in January.
Overall I think our start to the season was very dissapointing and this has lead to our current position , although in recent weeks my team have looked a lot sharper and more focused and I think given time we can drag ourselves out of the relegation zone and into the top half of the table.

After being predicted a season in the lower mid table, French's Derby are the season's surprise package lingering in the play offs just below the automatic spots. Can it be kept up. Here's what French had to say... French: Well before the season i knew with good tactics each game and the right motivation we could be lingering around the play offs which is where i wanted us to end up really, but we have had a good start. We have no done it the easy way though as the injuries start to creep in. We've had to recover losing home games to Coventrys and Barnleys by beating the Ipswiches and Prestons away from home. We have just Malcolm Christie on a loan deal because our strikers are not firing on all cylinders let's be honest.
The main goal now is to keep a gap between us and the outside of the playoffs and to keep pushing on, taking every game as it comes.
