Relegation battle for new Stockport County boss, John Gallagher.
Recently appointed manager of Stockport County, John Gallager, realises he has a lot of work to do in order to achieve the expectations of his board and fans and avoid relegation.
Gallagher has already marked his authority on the team by stripping last seasons club captain of his arm band...many fans believe this is a statement indicating a wave of changes to be made by the new manager.
Gallagher has revealed that he is looking to reshuffle the squad by ditching the under-achievers and bringing in some fresh talent, with the aim of being in the Championship within 4 season--a view seen by many as being overly optimistic and un-realistic as he is only a rookie manager.
In a press conference during the week John Gallagher said, "I am slightly dissappointed in the boards decision not to look for a parent club as I see this as a good source of income and talent. I will approach them again regarding this subject at a later date hoping they change their mind. As of just now I want to concentrate on the playing field and get to know the current squad as I have yet to establish a solid tactic which will play to our strengths.
