I don't want to come across as patronising but thought it was worth checking this and hopefully help a good few people out in one swoop, apologies if you already know this stuff though
Firstly, what IP are you using to enter into the game? Many people are unaware that if you are using a router you will have an internal IP which your router uses to identify you (usually 192.68.0.X, replace X with a number between 0 and 255). If you are given that as the IP to connect to then you might be trying to find a game on your own PC. Ask the person hosting the game to find their external IP number, for example www.portforwarding.com i think is the site, has some good info on opening ports for network games.
Let me know if this helps or not.

Sorry that last sentence made no sense. That site shows you your external IP AND has info on opening ports. There ><

Hi, wondering if someone can help me please. I've read the FAQ's about an online game. I have an 8mb connection and have configured my Netgear 834GT wireless router using www.portforward.com but this still hasnt got anywhere. I have selected the run as server and i am supplying the correct IP Address to people trying to connect to my game. Anyone got any ideas on how to help? Much appriciated!

Also to mention, i have Norton Security 2005. I have all the SP2 upgrades and Norton upgrades and checked my Norton firewall which is permitting all access and my Windows Firewall is switched off.
