Thursday's session started with us away at Wycombe. We made a good start when Moussa put us ahead after 8 minutes. Wycombe equalised 10 minutes into the second half. We had chances to win the game but had to settle for a 1-1 draw, although we will play worse and win this season. We played host to Walsall in the JPT next. A good first half saw us go in 2-0 up thanks to goals from Saunders & Hunt, with Mitchell missing a penalty as well. Late goals from Roberts & Hunt made the final score 4-0 as we progressed.

Back to league duty where we travelled to Rushden. This was another really good performance saw us win 2-0 thanks to a Roberts double. It was FA Cup next as we hosted Stevenage. After we had dominated the first half Stevenage scored from a dodgy penalty on half time, 4 minutes into the second half things went from bad to worse as Moussa was sent off for violent conduct. We destroyed Stevenage for the rest of the half but thanks to some inspired goal keeping we couldn't find an equaliser and went out 1-0.

Back to the league were Stockport came calling. Hunt put us ahead after 20 minutes before Pitt was sent off 2 minutes later leaving us with 10 men. Stockport equalised 2 minutes later before Hunt restored our lead 10 minutes before half time. Some tactical changes at half time saw us go more defensive and it worked as we held out for a 2-1 victory. Tranmere away followed. We produced one of the worst performances of the season to lose 3-0, and we were lucky to get nil.

It was JPT next as we played Plymouth at home. We played really well in the first half and went in 3-0 up thanks to goals from ***, Moussa and an og. We struggled in the second half losing 2 goals but we managed to hold on for a 3-2 win. This game also marked the return of Crouch from long term injury. Stevenage were the next visitors as we got back to league business. A stunning performance saw us win 3-0 with Hunt scoring a hat trick. We travelled to Millwall next. We got destroyed in the first half, including Millwall missing a penalty, and yet we somehow went in 2-0 up thanks to goals from Crouch & Moussa. Wilson was sent off with about 20 minutes to go but we managed to hold on for a 2-0 win that put us top of the table.

Peterborough were next at Loftus Road. We made the perfect start with Moussa scoring after 30 seconds. Hunt scored in the last 60 seconds to give us a 2-0 win. This left us top of the league after 22 games, 1 point clear of 2nd and 6 clear of 3rd place.

Monday's session started with a tough run as 3 out of the first 4 games were away from home, starting at Huddersfield. We made a great start and were 2-0 up after 14 minutes thanks to a Hewitt-Fisher double. That was as good as it would get. Huddersfield had equalised before scoring 3 times in the second half and we lost 5-2. We looked to bounce back away to Hartlepool. We had a shocking first half performance and went in 3-0 down. The second half was a different story as Hunt scored twice to give us a chance of a point. A Hartlepool defender put through his own net to equalise for us and complete a stunning comeback.

We had a rare home game next when we hosted stan's Preston. This game was very even for the first hour and then we turned on the style. Hewitt-Fisher put us 1-0 up. Elliott added a second with just over 10 minutes to go before Saunders sealed it in the 89th minute to make it 3-0 and get us back to winning ways. We travelled to Northampton next. After dominating the game we fell behind shortly after the break. Hewitt-Fisher equalised 20 minutes later. We had chances to win but had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

We travelled to Rushden for our JPT South semi final. We took the lead when the Rushden keeper threw the ball into his net on the hour mark. Rushden equalised with less than 10 minutes to go. It went to penalties and Rushden knocked us out. Back to league duty and we hosted Accrington Stanley. We made a great start when hint scored after 2 minutes. Accrington equalised just after half time. It looked like it might remain a draw until Elliott scored a late double. Accrington pulled one back in stoppage time to make the final score 3-2.

We were away to Jack's Doncaster Rovers who were on a great run of form. We dominated the first half but went in 1-0 down as Rovers scored with their first shot on goal. Hunt equalised with just over 20 minutes to go and then put us in front 10 minutes later. We had chances to extend the lead but couldn't take them and we won 2-1. This left us top on goal difference with 18 games to go.

Just a reminder to the clan members that the next 3 sessions are cancelled. Play will resume on Monday 17th September.

Monday session was a terrible session for us, we started against the 2nd bottom side and
even though we dominated we lost by a single goal but we bounced back with back to back wins and at this point we were 7 points above relegation, next we played reading away they started with a 4-1-4-1 looking very negative but in the 1st half they totally dominated us creating a load of chances so in the 2nd half I took off a striker and added another midfielder, this stopped them from running the game but 2 1st half goals were enough for them to win, this annoyed me as they seem to create way to many chances for the formation they used but this may have helped me further down the line if I come up against a similar formation. The next 3 games where unbelievable bad loosing all 3 and conceding 12 goals 4 in each game even though the last was very even but they basically scored with every shot, the last game of the session we also lost but only by the odd goal.
Looking back I feel these result were really down to my transfer market management as I sold my best centre defender at the beginning of the season for 14mil and my best left back (possible my best play at the time) at the start of January for 6mil, he was 28years old and I always try to sell players at that age but in this case I should have kept hold of him as staying in the premiership is worth a hell of allot more that 6mil, anyway just before we finished I signed a quality 23 year old centre back (he can also play right back) for 6mil as I really need to strengthen my defence I will also try and sign a decent left back before the transfer window closes using up my quota of signings for the season, I should also soon be able to bring back 2 players who are currently on load at a feeder club to get nationality.
We are currently 1 point above the bottom 3 team and hopefully we have already had our bad spell of results for the season so if we think like its the start of the season and we start with a 1 point advantage on the bottom 3 teams all we have to do is pick up the same or more points than them to stay up and with the few new additions to the squad I feel we will have the players to do it.

We resumed our season at home to Grays. Elliott gave us the lead after 12 minutes tapping home after Pekhart had hit the post with a free kick. We dominated the rest of the half but couldn't extend our lead and went in 1-0 up. We played well in the second half but could not find a second goal. This lead to some nervy moments late on but we held on for a 1-0 win. Barnsley away followed. We found ourselves 2-0 down early on after a poor start. Pekhart gave us hope when he pulled one back on half time. We controlled the second half and just when it looked like we would leave empty handed, Pekhart scored his second to rescue a point.

It was a top of the table clash next as we hosted second placed Notts Forest. We fell behind on the hour mark before Pekhart equalised 10 minutes later. We probably had the better of the second half but we conceded with 2 minutes to go to lose 2-1. We bounced back with a 1-0 win at home to Crewe with Scott getting the winner. It was away to MK Dons next. A solid performance with a goal from Hunt in the first half and a second half Pekhart strike gave us a 2-0 win. Another away game followed at Hereford. We were really poor in this game and never looked like scoring as we lost 1-0.

We looked to bounce back when we hosted Gillingham. A fine first half performance saw us go in 2-0 up thanks to goals from Crouch & Hunt. Not much happened in the second half and we ran out 2-0 winners. We hosted bottom club Southend next. After a poor first half we started the second half brightly with Beesley scoring after 60 seconds. Pitt was sent off with 15 minutes left to make it a nervous last few minutes but we held on to win 1-0.

It was Blackpool away next. We dominated this game from start to finish. It took until the 79th minute before we broke the deadlock thanks to Pekhart. We couldn't hold on as Blackpool equalised in stoppage time to make the final score 1-1. We finished the session with Rushden at home. Beesley opened the scoring before Rushden equalised. Pekhart struck to give us a 2-1 half time lead. Elliott scored to give us a 3-1 lead before Rushden pulled one back. Beesley scored to put us 4-2 up and cruising. We conceded in stoppage time but held on to win 4-3. This left is top of the table, 4 points clear of second and 10 clear of third with 8 games to go.

A fantastic day for Doncaster with a number of fantastic victories. Now all we need is a good finish to secure a play-off place!

We started the final push at home to Wycombe. The game was moved due to international call ups although when it was played we still had several players away. We really struggled with the number of players missing through international duty. It looked as if we would have to settle for a point until Saunders struck in the 94th minute to give us a valuable win. Stockport away followed. We were really poor for the first hour of this game and found ourselves 2-0 down. We played much better after that but couldn't find a goal and lost2-0.

We were away again as we travelled to Brentford. We got off to the worst possible start when Masaryk was sent off. 6 minutes later we went 1-0 down before going 2-0 down on the half hour mark. Nothing much happened in the second half and we lost 2-0. We looked to get back to winning ways at home to Tranmere. A first half double from Moussa saw us go in 2-0 up. Nothing much happened and we ran out 2-0 winners. This left us needing a point from the 4 remaining games to secure automatic promotion.

Stevenage away was next up. A goal from Elliott midway through the first half saw us go in 1-0 up. Stevenage had chances to equalise in the second half but we managed to hold on for the 3 points that secure promotion to the Championship. This was a stunning achievement for a side tipped to struggle to stay up. It means that we only needed 2 points from the last 3 games to win the title. Millwall were our next visitors. A stunning goal from 18 year old Moffatt on his debut put us 1-0 up after 13 minutes. Moussa missed a penalty shortly into the second half before putting us 2-0 up after 57 minutes. Moussa then wrapped up the game, and the title, in the 90th minute to make it 3-0.

Our first game as champions was away to Peterborough. We rested a few players and played some fringe players. We played poorly and lost 1-0. The last game of the season was away to Huddersfield. Another poor performance saw us draw 0-0. This was a fantastic season with the players performing above themselves to secure back to back titles. If I can bring in a few quality players, keep hold of our current squad and our promising youngsters continue to develop we should have a chance of staying up.

After a 2 week break Mondays session started with us in the 17th position just out side of the relegation places, but with a very poor start we soon where in the bottom 3 but with 4 points in the last 2 games we finished 18th at the end of the session on goal difference with 8 games left.

At the start of Thursdays session I had a look at the next 8 fixtures and they where not easy the 1st was against Aston Villa who where in the top 4 at the time followed by Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd who where all there or there about at the top of the league but the last 3 games where against Norwich, Watford and Bristol Rovers who where 3 of the bottom 4 teams with me being the other, so I felt that if we where to stay up we needed to at least win them last 3 games, 9 points would give us 37 points and I felt that would be enough to keep us up or so I hoped, as expected we lost the 1st five games to the top teams, we where unlucky in a few but rubbish in the others but during this time we did manage to to get a work permit for my Brazilian right winger so I brought him back off loan and straight in to the team, anyway with 3 games left we where bottom of the table but still in touch so the next few games where must win games the 1st against Norwich was away we started well and scored early straight away they went more aggressive so we went to a more counter attacking system, they pressured us most of the game but we did have so good chances to extend the lead on the break but didn't manage to find the net, it was a tense end to the game but we managed to hang on for the win which moved us up to 18th place. The next game was at home against Watford and after the last game I felt more confident of a win but we went 1 down early on so for the rest of the game we where pushing for the equalizer and in the 80th min. it came but a draw wasn't really enough so we kept going for it and just 7 mins. later we got a somewhat dubious pen but I was not complaining and Sturridge tucked it away for a very important win that moved us up to 16th in the table but only 1 point off relegation with a pretty bad goal difference. The last game was against Bristol Rovers away from home but this was going to be difficult as they had moved well up the table in recent matches and where in great form, we started well creating a few chance put they countered us and scored against the run of play and 10 mins. later Adriano got sent off after this it was 1 way traffic and shortly they went 2 nil up after that I just concentrated on the other results and I was still out of the bottom 3, Portsmouth where losing to Fulham but in the 60th min. they equalized but when I looked at the table it still said I was safe so I looked back at the scores and Fulham had scored just a few mins. after and it stayed that way until the end of the game, we lost our game 4nil but we where safe.

As we finished in 17th place the squad was obviously not good enough for the Premiership so when June the 1st came I transfer listed about 6 players, the likes of Sturridge and Junior are good players and by transfer listing them the chances are we will not get near the value I would want but we have a big squad with a lot of strikers and a few need to go. By the time we finished the session I had signed a top young goalkeeper, a left back, a centre back, a defensive centre midfielder all young players with great potential but also at least as good if not better than what we already have, also another Brazilian player a centre back I had on loan managed to get a work permit. So to next season if we manage to get rid of all the players that I want and add 1 or 2 more to the ones I have already signed we should do a lot better next time around.

We started Thursday night's session with a good chance of making the play-offs.

However a winless run of 4 games rules the play-offs out and we finished in 10th.

A number of signings need to be made if we are to gain promotion next year!

Mondays session started at the end of the season so transfers where the name of the game. As posted in my previous post I needed to sell allot of players and that is what happened, by the start of the next season we managed to sell around about 10 to 15 players most of which I wanted but there where 1 or 2 big offers for my younger players that where to good to turn down, we also signed a few good players one of which is real quality. Before the 1st game I looked at my squad at it looked allot more balanced still with decent depth and good youngster waiting in the wings so even though my media prediction is 20th I feel we should be looking for a mid table finish. By the end of the session we had played 3 games the 1st against Bolton away which we lost but they had already had a few competitive games as they where in the intertoto cup and we came back well from 3 nil down to 3-2 so that was a plus point, our next match was at home but after 13 mins. we had a players sent off and even with a man less the game was even if anything we where still the better team but it finished 1-1, I came off then as it was meant to be the last match of the night but when Al moved it forward to the next set of game he had a glitch and the computer played my next game against Liverpool and we lost 3-2. So after 3 games we only have 1 point but I have still been encourage by the performances.

We kicked off the new season, at home to Hull. We struggled to match Hull for long periods of the game. That didn't matter when Scott fired home from 20 yards in stoppage time to give us a 1-0 win. Wolves away followed. We made a great start as goals from Pekhart & Elliott put us 2-0 up inside 10 minutes. Wolves pulled one back midway through the half and we went in 2-1 up. Pekhart scored from the spot with 10 minutes remaining before Wolves pulled one back in stoppage time to make the final score 3-2.

It was Bradford at home next. Williams gave us an early lead before Bradford levelled before half time. Bradford were reduced to 10 men before they took the lead. Elliott rescued a point when he scored with 13 minutes remaining. We had a tough game next as we travelled to Middlesbrough. Pekhart gave us the lead after 9 minutes. From there to the end of 90 minutes both sides had chances to score in a very even game but we managed to hold on and win 1-0.

It was League Cup duty next as we visited Cardiff. First half goals from Brown, on debut, and Moussa put us 2-0 up at half time. Pekhart added a 3rd in the second half as we ran out comfortable 3-0 winners. We finished the session at home to Swansea. We destroyed Swansea in this game. 2 first half goals from Pekhart saw us go in 2-0 up. In the second half Saunders added a 3rd before Pekhart completed the scoring and his hat trick when he fired home a stunning free kick to make the final score 4-0. We have made a stunning start to the season and sit top of the table after 5 games.
