In the traditional opening season game, the Community Shield. Chelsea defeated Liverpool 7-6 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. After a thoroughly exciting Premiership season, both the title and all three relegation spots were still to be decided going into the last game. Manchester United, having led for most of the season deservedly won the title, with Arsenal just one point behind. The normal top-four weren’t broken up, and Reading were the main overachievers in 5th. At the other end of the table, Middlesbrough survived despite being in the bottom three nearly all year, consigning Fulham, Sheff Utd, and, as normal in the first season, Bolton, to relegation.

England top their EURO 2008 qualification group by 3 points to Russia.

Arsenal won the Champions League and the FA Cup, whilst Everton took the League Cup on penalties to West Brom and CSKA Moscow won the UEFA Cup

Season Summary

Although it was disappointing for The Enchants not to reach the playoffs, the team performed above expected and will look to push on next year. Just how they managed to finish so high with that set of player ratings is beyond me. There was very little transfer activity both incoming and outgoing, and despite the 30000 stadium, The Enchants lost £100000 over the course of the year, partly due to never selling more than 1000 tickets, something they will need to sort out to secure their future. Their reputation increased from 1000 to 1047. The older players were the main players through the course of the year, but most young players tasted some sort of action. The three injury prone players only received four injuries between them all year, the longest being Injury-Prone Defender being forced out for three weeks through a virus.

Points of Discussion/Things being noticed

Why was Craig Williams sold for so little when they could so easily have been promoted with him?

Craig Williams’s CA hasn’t improved over the season.

The two players with the lowest CA are the only two which have been loaned out over the season.

The young players CA’s are rising quickly, and will soon be higher than the older players.

The CA of the players seems to be linked to the games they played. As they all started on 1, I think this shows that games help develop kids better.

The club averaged 1.3 yellow cards per game, which is more than I normally see. Do you think this is linked with having too many younger players?

loving the quick update!! thought it wouldnt be long before williams was out the door, but they seem to have coped pretty well, lets see if they strengthen good in the summer and maybe make the playoffs in double-quick time!! :thup:

Craig Williams was sold for so little becuase he was only 16 and thus on a youth contract, therefore he was free to move as he pleased.

He was sold for 30% of the next sale.

That's odd. Maybe instead of poaching they put in a bid of 0 + 30% next sale and the manager thought he had to accept otherwise the youngster could just get poached and that would of meant that there would be no potential money coming in from the t'fer at all.
