Albion Rovers
Season 2018/19
Division: Scottish Premier League
Title:: Champions
Media Prediction: 5th
Actual Place: 1st
EURO CUP: Quarter Final lost 5-4 to Blackburn Rovers
Scottish Cup: 4th Round Replay lost 1-0 to Rangers
League Cup: 3rd Round lost 2-1 to Inverness CT
Average League Attendance: 14440
Top League Scorer: Sam McAree (13)
Top League Assists: Stuart Holdsworth (9)
Top 3 players: Emmanuele Smith, Declan Holbem, Jacob White

7 players were brought in and 6 were sold. Transfers In Transfers Out

A sold start for us this season been 2nd at the end of December managing 39 points from 22 games. January saw us pick up 4 points from 3 games to remain 2nd. We improved a bit in February to gain 6 points from the 3 games to still stay in 2nd. March saw us get 9 points from the 4 games to still stay in 2nd. We had 6 games to finish the season and managed 16 points which was enough to win the league from Rangers. League Chart

I’m sure Celtic tried there best to stop us winning. :p Match

A marvellous season with a shock winning the league. After the takeover was confirmed the players seemed to really pick up and went on a great winning run. The new chairman has said my job is safe and gave me a new 2 year contract. I have already spent £12.2m on 3 new players (including add ons)so hopefully we can make an assault on the Champions League at the first time of asking. I’ll post the 11 players that made the biggest contribution to winning the league shortly.

Mitten Played in the final important games. Solid goalkeeper but is prone to the odd mistake. Has been here for 8 seasons playing 212 league games. We will leave at the end of the season after refusing to sign a contract.

Mainwaring A solid right back who is very consistent and rarely messes up. Could have played more games but decided to leave in February so was dropped. Has played 38 times in 2 seasons.

Holdsworth Finally got his chance after the departure of Woodhall and took it. A key player and was our most creative player. Has made 45 appearances scoring on one occasion in 3 seasons.

Holbem Has been a real gem from the day I signed him. Has never let me down and has been key to our success over the 3 seasons he has been here. In those seasons he has played 104 times scoring once.

Smith Similar to Holbem in that he has never let me down. His excellent jumping has made him the key man in our corners scoring the most important goal of the season. Has been here for 3 seasons playing 89 times scoring 11 goals.

Sloan The only player that has really made it from our youth system. A sound player who can knock in some important goals and make them as well. In the 7 seasons he has been here he has played 116 games scoring 10 goals.

Taylor A real good performer who missed the crucial last months through a serious injury. Always plays well and often causes problems. Has been here for 3 seasons playing 92 games scoring 8 goals.

White A bit of a battler that has a bit of creativity. Should score more goals than he does but a good performer. 3 seasons with the club playing 72 games scoring 4 goals.

Johnson A real battler who forced himself into my first team plans. Strong player who breaks up the play for us and helps us to keep possession. 3 seasons with us playing 68 times scoring once.

Robertson After been here a while as a youngster he finally got his chance due to Dan Reed breaking his leg. A good target man who improved throughout the season hitting good goal scoring form towards the latter stages. Has been here for 3 seasons playing 47 times scoring 11 goals.

McAree Forced himself to be a regular by starting well with the goals. Good pace and finished as our top scorer this season. Sadly will be leaving after refusing a contract. Another player that has been here for 3 seasons playing 79 games scoring 27 goals.

Albion Rovers
Season 2019/20
Division: Scottish Premier League
Title:: All over, sacked
Media Prediction: 1st
Actual Place: 4th halfway through
Champions Cup: 4th in Group Stages
Scottish Cup:N/A
League Cup: 3rd Round lost 2-1 to St Mirren
Average League Attendance: 14413
Top League Scorer: Barry Moffat (7)
Top League Assists: Jimmy Sloan (5)
Top 3 players: Lee Foster, Barry Moffat, Declan Holbem

We brought 4 players in and 6 left. Transfers In Transfers Out

We nearly got to the end of Decmber where we had 33 points from 19 games. League Chart

Champions Cup

We qualified for the group stages with an easy 7-0 on aggregate victory over Wisla. Barry Moffat was particularly good and scored the only goal in the return leg.

The group stages brought us against Real Madrid, PSV and Marseille

A real struggle for us. We could have qualified but through away our lead in 3 games. The only real highlight for us was a 5-0 home win against PSV. It was really disappointing not to get 3rd spot and be in the EURO. Champions Cup

Well that is the end of it with myself been sacked halfway through despite no warnings or indication of a dismissal. The season appeared to be going well with although the Champions Cup was disappointing we were leading the league for a while. I accept the last 3 results were poor (all defeats) I thought I would be allowed to continue to the end of the season. Spending so much money may have been my downfall. Thanks for the challenge Davie but that is that now for me with challenges on FM 07 I eagerly await FM 08.

I’ll post my manager history and how Albion finished the season tomorrow. I’m off to cry down the pub.
