Albion Rovers
Season 2015/16
Division: Scottish Premier League
Title:: Stayed up again
Media Prediction: 11th
Actual Place: 9th
EURO Cup: 1st Round lost 2-0 to Valencia
Scottish Cup: 4th Round lost 2-1 to Kilmarnock
League Cup: Quarter Final lost 4-0 to Celtic
Average League Attendance: 14522
Top League Scorer: Doug Shearer (9)
Top League Assists: Stephen Wynee (12)
Top 3 players: Mark Clark, Jamie Thomas, Paul Davies

We expanded the stadium again, this time by 8069 seats.

6 players were brought in, and 7 left. Losing Douthwaite was a blow but he wanted to leave. Transfers In Transfers Out

At the end of December we were 7th having got 20 points from 17 games. January saw us only get 3 points from the 4 games and saw us slip to 10th. In February we collected 3 points from the 3 games to remain 10th. We improved a lot in March getting 8 points from 5 games and moving to 9th. We saw out the season getting 8 points from the 8 games and finishing in 9th. League Chart

A decent season where we managed to stay up again. Next season could be a big problem with 6 first team regulars set to leave due to wanting to move to a bigger club and been out of contract. I’m planning to move back to a 4-4-2 as we let quite a few in with the current formation. Here is to hoping I can get in good replacements.

Albion Rovers
Season 2016/17
Division: Scottish Premier League
Title:: A fine season and into Europe
Media Prediction: 11th
Actual Place: 4th
Scottish Cup: Quarter Final lost 1-0 to Motherwell
League Cup: 2nd Round lost 2-0 to Queen of the South
Average League Attendance: 14401
Top League Scorer: Dan Reed (14)
Top League Assists: Sam McAree (7)
Top 3 players: Emmanuele Smith, Declan Holbem, Nick Taylor

Improvements were made to both training and youth facilities.

We were extremely busy in the transfer market bringing in all most a brand new squad. 17 players were signed at a cost of £2.3m to replace those who have left. This was offset by getting £2.6m from 19 players leaving, 11 of which were import to the main 18 match day squad. Transfers In Transfers Out

At the end of December things are going very well. We sit in 5th place after 20 games having picked up 32 points. January saw is climb to 3rd getting 7 points from the 4 games played. We won all 3 games in February to move up to 2nd. March saw us struggle for the first time by only getting 1 point from 4 games. We fell to 3rd. The season finished with us getting 10 points from the remaining games to finish 4th getting 59 points. League Chart

A fantastic season where we established ourselves as a force in the SPL. A high turn around in players enabled me to sign the right type of players to fit our 4-4-2 and we had a real balance in the side. I expect it to be a much quieter transfer window with only 2 or 3 players to be brought in.

Albion Rovers
Season 2017/18
Division: Scottish Premier League
Title:: A strong season
Media Prediction: 8th
Actual Place:3rd
EURO CUP: 2nd Knockout Round lost 3-2 to Aberdeen
Scottish Cup: 3rd Round replay lost 2-1 to Hibs
League Cup: Quarter Final lost 2-0 to Motherwell
Average League Attendance: 14465
Top League Scorer: Dan Reed (14)
Top League Assists: Scott Pearce (8)
Top 3 players: Emmanuele Smith, Declan Holbem, Ashley Kelly

Further improvements were made to improve both training and youth facilities.

We were quite quiet in the transfer market bringing in 3 players. We let go of 18 players including a big loss in losing Eddie O’Brien. Transfers In Transfers Out

We made another strong start to the season been placed second at the end of December having picked up 39 points from the 21 games played. We had a dry spell in January which saw us draw all 3 games and drop one place to 3rd. 5 points from 4 games in February saw us maintain 3rd place. March saw us pick up 6 points from 4 games and remain 3rd. We finished the season y getting 9 points from the 6 games to finish 3rd. League Chart

Another strong season where we have shown improvement. We had a very successful run in Europe which sadly hindered us domestically so a better rotation system is required. I plan to change the training schedule around to make it a bit lighter to help improve fitness throughout the season. I will try to bring a few youngsters in and the only major signings will be to replace any player that may leave, otherwise we will be the same 22 as this season.

One bit of news that is slightly concerning is the chairman is willing to listen to offers so a takeover could happen within the next season.
