Default A Wright Ol' Challenge

A Wright Ol' Challenge

The Isle of Wight is a small island south of Hampshire. It is not renowned for being a hotbed of football, with their most famous side Newport (IW) F.C only reaching the heights of the Southern League.

Oh how times can change...

The Arsenal Legend Ian Wright, a regular holidayer on the island, was busy arguing with himself as usual over why his son Shaun was not Engand's number one right winger, when he had a brainwave! "Wight sounds like Wright" he announced triumphantly and he then made a vow to buy the Island and rename it the Isle of Wright!

But not only that! He would create a new football club where his two sons could be the stars and lead the side to glory! With the financial backing of Russian steel magnate and close family friend Ivan Molanski, his new side Isle of Wright FC was born and managed to bribe their way into the Conference South for the upcoming season.

The first order of business for chairman Wright was the signings of sons Shaun and Bradley to this new club. Now he is looking for a new manager to take control of his dream team. Is that person going to be you?

Rules and conditions in next post

The Challenge

To take Isle of Wright FC to glory in all trophies which Ian Wright managed to win!

That is: FA Cup, League Cup, Premiership and European Super Cup (As Cup Winner's Cup doesn't exist anymore!)

BUT you must complete this objective before Shaun and Bradley retire from football

Rules for Challenge

You must not EVERsell either Shaun or Bradley Wright-Phillips.

Shaun and Bradley must both play AT LEAST 10 LEAGUE MATCHES EVERY SEASON

You cannot sign ANYONE from a club in the Premiership nor any European club until you reach League 1.

You cannot leave the club at any point

You can only manage England at international level, where you MUST pick both Shaun and Bradley in EVERY SQUAD

No 3rd party applications like FMScout are allowed.

Screenshots must be posted at end of each season to prove that transfers are legal and that both sons have played the adequate number of games required.

Rules for Thread

Player naming is allowed. (This is a warning for those of you who do not wish to see this)

Discussion on tactics is allowed. (This is another warning for those of you who do not wish to see this)

Screenshots for anything are encouraged.

Progress of your club should be documented using this thread. Please keep us updated, even if you are doing really badly.

I hope you will want to do this challenge - if there is enough interest, I shall post the save game tonight hopefully!

Have fun!

Sounds like a challenge! I'm in. Are you going to do this as well? Am eagerly awaiting the game now so i can crack on with it.

Going to be a few problems for as i a like the Prem players, but i will have to degrade to the championship with quality players like Shefki Kuqi (I am a Palace Fan, think he rubbish BTW) :p But i can manage.

@ jbrookes - yes I will be doing this challenge aswell.

I am now uploading the much trialed save game to mega upload now and hopefully I shall soon be able to give you a link to that game! I have tested it and I have some tips I must tell you:

1) Ask for more transfer funds straight away otherwise you may struggle big time!

2) I have given them a healthy reputation, but I must tell you that you will struggle to get championship quality players just yet (as it should be really, as it is a Conference South Club!)

3) Not a tip really - more a new rule - You must set your manager reputation to Semi-Pro or Automatic

I have trialled this game quite a bit to try and get this just about right, but if you see some problems early doors, let me know and I will endeavour to fix it!
