Default Seanefc's - Luch Vladivostok Challenge - take the European Cup to Asia!

ok, this is a challenge that ive wanted to do for quite a while, but have never actualy realy got going on it. so i thought if i put it up in here, it may help me stick at it!

Challenge: Win the European Champions League with Luch Vladivostok

What makes Luch Vladivostok so special? - Vladivostok lies on Russias far east coast, it is only a few miles from China & North Korea, and Japan lies just over the water. Yet despite being completly, 100%, in Asia,... Luch play in the Russian league, which of course means that they can (should they qualify) play in European Competition.

Luch are obviously, by far the most eastern team in the Russian top flight...
Geography of Russian Premier Division Teams
Wikipedia Page

Rules
Start a new game as follows...

1. Large Database
2. Real Players
3. Attribute Masking On

4. Leagues Allowed...
Russian Premier Division (first division optional)
England (optional)
Italy (optional)
Spain (optional)

My personal preference is to run the top divisions of the top 3 european leagues (England, Italy & Spain), the only reasoning behind this is that i feel it keeps the game in a better balance as time goes on. I will also be running the english championship, just incase in the future, when i finish the challenge, i want to manage everton, who will no doubt have been relegated

5. Thread Rules
as far as the thread rules go, just be sensible. im going to say that player naming is allowed, and that players should post a seasonal update with screenshots. i will post a table of players and their progress... including highest league positions, and the furthest they have managed to get in each european competition.

6. International management not allowed untill the challenge has been completed.

7. Signing players
In general i would expect people to only sign players whom they could scout, however im going to leave this up to each players discression. i just dont like the idea of coming across a player from say china, with full stats visable, and not being able to sign him, because my scounts can only go 'within this reigion' (eastern europe) despite the fact that china is only a few miles down the road! in short, i would hope people were sensible with this and only signed players who they could either scout, or were already able to see their full (un-masked) attributes.

8. No additional players from nations

thats about it i think, please feel free to ask questions if i havnt covered everything.
just got to hope that some people will be interested.

looking at the wikipedia page i started laughing at this:

Situated in the far east of the country, their location poses a significant problem for away teams. When playing FC Zenit Saint Petersburg at home, a trio of Zenit fans (Evgeny Stepanov, Aleksandr Zaraysky and Veronika Davidova) drove 15,000km across the country only for their 1980's Honda Civic to break down when in Vladivostok, thus unable to get home. These fans thus took the Trans-Siberian Railway back to Saint Petersburg, upon which the club rewarded them with a new car on October 1, 2006.

Might try this challenge in the future after i finish Gundo or Kimmos which ever comes first

This is interesting. Might have a go, simply for the fun of it.

Teams from Portugal (the Western-most European country) would have a hell of a time should we get to Europe.

I just tried this, but halfway through the season I only got three draws to show for my effort, and officially became the worst team in Russian Premier Division history.

Just loading up now. Good challenge Sean

BTW...

Are you allowed to load additional players? Like load Colombia to get Cardenas.

My first match was a 6-1 home loss to Tom Tomsk. Then we struggled through, but then a 7-0 loss to Lokomotiv Moscow resulted in the inevitable...

Got sacked.

I'm at just over a year since I started this yesterday. I was in 2nd at the break but during the summer, Marek Cech turned into an absolute sieve, and I plummeted into 11th. Him and AMC Smirnov want to leave, and I already granted Shyantuk his departing wish.

In the second season, I've played 3, I'm at 1-1-1 but the win was over Spartak which was nice. And I've found a new rock for my defence. If anyone has heard of Kerwing Peixoto, he has blossomed on the Sea of Okhotsk, turning into a star defender and he's only 19! If your searching for him, Alianza Lima cut him loose in Februrary. Shouldn't take much for you to get him.
