The Challenge
Step 1. Crystal Palace – After starting as Crystal Palace you are to establish yourself as a manager by winning promotion to the English Premier League (EPL). Once promoted you must achieve an EPL position of 10th or above before moving on.
Step 2. Queens Park Rangers – You must then take the Q.P.R job (through application or declaring interest only). Then you must win promotion to the EPL and finish an EPL season in 5th place or higher before moving to step 3. During your time at Q.P.R you must also go one further than Venebles and win the FA Cup.
Step 3. Barcelona – This is where it could get a bit tricky. You must then apply for the Barcelona job. During your time at Barcelona you must win the Spanish League Title, Spanish Cup and again go one further than Venebles and win an European Cup (either Euro Cup or Champions Cup). This doesn’t have to be achieved all in the one season.
Step 4. Tottenham – You must then return to your native England and apply for the Tottenham job. Here you must win the FA Cup and finish 2nd or above in the Premier League.
Step 5. Leeds United – In your final club duty you must become manager of Leeds United where you must leave them in a better state than Venebles did in 2003. You are to ensure they earn promotion to the EPL and finish a Premier League season in 10th place or higher.
If you find that Q.P.R or Leeds are already in EPL when you are up to managing them, then you can ignore the “win promotion to the EPL” goal. Consider yourself lucky. You must however still complete the other goals attached with those clubs.
At any time during the challenge you may apply for the English or Australian nation team job.
As England Manager you are to deliver international success to trophy-starved English fans by winning either the European Championships or the World Cup.
As Australian Manager you must restore pride among Australians by successfully qualifying for the World Cup and get past the group stages.
Rules
1.You must complete each step before moving on to the next. (the two international goals can be done at anytime)
2.If you are sacked you must take a job one division lower. E.g. if you are sacked in the EPL you must take a job in the Championship and try and win back your old job. (moral of the story is try to avoid the axe at all costs)
3.No external utilities like FM Scout should be used.
4.Winner will be the person who can complete this challenge in the least amount of time.
Thread Rules
1.Tactics and Player Buys may be discussed.
2.Screenshots and progress reports are encouraged.
If you are unclear on anything please don’t hesitate to ask.
Suggestions and feedback on how this challenge could be improved are encouraged.
Havent had the best start to this challenge!! I've just passed the August transfer deadline and are currently sitting in 22nd place. After a dominate win on the opening day i am yet to win in 6 attempts.
As for transfers, i managed to bring in Salif Diao and Didier Digard aswell as Dong Fangzhuo on loan from man yoo (who promptly got injured for a month in his first match)
I'm also facing a mini injury crisis at present with no less than 5 1st team players out. Thinning out the wage bill is another problem as Palace have a number of older players on high wages who are difficult to get rid of.
Surely things can only get better after this horrific start to the season!!!
I agree with the other comments - great challenge, so why isn't anyone doing it?? I'm willing to give it a go.
Could be a long one, I anticipate a MINIMUM of 3 years for step 1, 4 years for step 2, 2 years for step 3, 2 years for step 4 and 3 years for step 5. 14 years, phew, and that's if everything goes like clockwork! That doesn't include the international challenges either!
I'm a QPR fan and Spurs are my second team so I have a vested interest here, I'm gonna see how it goes.
How u gettin on manyoo? (if you're still doing it?)
