Good to have you on board.

Is there anyone else doing/planing to do my challenge?

I will be posting the challenge for FM08 (hopefully over the weekend) which will clarify the points that were suspect when we started this challenge thread up.

If anyone has any suggestions about what needs changing, please let me know

E.B.

hi, havnt posted in ages... the games kinda fallen flat on its face for me...

i decided i was bored with france so quit there.. contiued on with kaiser chiefs, but i struggled with the same problems as previously... despite building easily the best side in the league - we are very average, mid table side :S

i had to admit defeat, after two attempts, i just could not crack the south african league... and sadly, i was just not enjoying it enough to keep trying... so i quit, sure i would pick up a better job soon....

but nothing came... for 1 and a half years i was on the dole... i was turned down for a few good jobs, such as fiorentina and juventus... barcelona litteraly(!) laughed off my interest when i declaired that i would like the job. all this for a world class reputation manager ?
what at one time was good enough for Inter, Boca Juniors, Valencia etc, was now useless?

the one possitive was getting an unusual international job, with Uzbekistan

after all that time in the wilderness, wanting a european job, but only with a top team... i decided to commit the ultimate sin and CHEAT...

so i withdraw from this challenge at this point...

with FM2008 coming out soon, i want to have a stab at the Everton job (but they are in no mood for sacking their manager after just winning the PL and making the CL semi finals) so ive added a manager, took over everton, and then retired him.... just applyed for the job with my original manager.

my game isnt running quickly enough to wait for the job to come up naturaly... and a want to get in to FM2008 as soon as its out.

but i'll post my final record, as it was before i 'engineered' my way in to the Everton job...

Europe
Champions Cup - Inter (22.5.2013)
Euro Cup - Valencia (17.5.2017)
Euro Super Cup - Valencia (25.8.2017)

South America
Copa Libertadores - Boca Juniors (23.7.2014)

Africa
African Challange - Kaizer Chiefs (01.8.2010)

Asia
Champions League - Seoul (28.10.2009)
East Asian Championship - Seoul (26.7.2008)

World-Wide Club
Club World Championship - Boca Juniors (14.12.2014)

doesnt look many when put like that, but it was pretty tough, and great fun on the whole. shame about the lack of international trophys! but i think all the major club ones are there, didnt make much of an effort to win the likes of the super cup, or the recopa, i couldnt bring myself to stay at a team for 6 months or a year, just to play one match!

to evertonbloke: congratulations for a great challenge.
will you be starting this one up with the new game right away? or waiting for the initial patch?
whichever way you do it, i shall be one of the first to sign up (maybe after i start a game with efc to get a feel for it)

I will be starting it up as soon as FM2008 comes out, however I will be allowing people to play with any official patch they want so you can wait for the first patch if you want or not.

As I understand it the patches will fix any problems even if you dont start a new game. The only difference would be if player data is changed in a patch and as I will be managing in a league I have no clue about that players I dont think it matters!!!

Hopefully this weekend I will go though the whole thread to clarify some issues (ie. starting experience) and make a summary of who has won the most.
