Irish forward Socky moves to English champions Chelsea from Newcastle for a fee of £9 million
Both In Der Van Dude and Ben Chia move to Italian club Juventus for inital fees of £5.75 million and £8.5 million respectively
Danny Anderson moves to Lyon for £11.5 million after turning down a host of other clubs
Gary McNeil returns to the north east, as Newcastle buy him back for £6 million
Stuart Holiday moves to Real Madrid for £15.25 million from Rangers.
Chelsea sign Cristiano Ronaldo for £33.5 million and Barcelona sign Rooney for £44.5 million, after Man Utd finished in a disapointing league place
