| Depends on the nation. In Croatia, it's 5 years. In Belgium and Poland, it's 3 years, hence the loads of feeder clubs from those countries used only for work-permit reasons. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Cheers. I shall have to have look round on the net see what Norway's is.

That's not too bad I suppose, it used be 7 years I think. It's just when I get to the Tippeligaen you are only allowed 2 foreign players for domestic league games in your squad, so I imagine it's going get abit difficult for me in terms of signing players with that in mind. Thanks.

Part way through our first season in the top flight now, and I'm happy with how things are going. We're 10th in the league (out of 16) which isn't great but we're 12 points above relegation. The team has been performing well, particularly my two central midfielders, Chris Patterson and Damien Manning.
Our main problem in the first few league games was scoring goals, managing only 6 in the first 11 games, whilst our defence was doing pretty well, conceding just 8. We've improved, scoring 13 in the next 7 games, conceding 9.
We got to the semi-final of the league cup, but then got spanked by Linfield. We're through to the 6th round of the Irish Cup though, and with both Linfield and Portadown already knocked out, I might have a chance of going quite far.
As for the league, I think we can push on and go for a top-half finish, which I'd be more than happy with.
Attendences are up quite a bit on previous seasons, but we're still losing money, with our balance currently standing at -£111k.
Here's the league table so far.

10th is pretty good for your first season at the top .
I finished 6th in the end, but much like your league, there is very little between many of the sides. Linfield are the exception to the rule and I can't seem to compete with them. Surprisingly though, they somehow managed not to win the league last season.
Have they turned pro in your game too?
With regards to your Cups, I would suggest ignoring everything except the Irish Cup, (European spot), The League Cup, (entry into the All Ireland Cup), and the All Ireland Cup (when you get there), (a real money spinner).
I've won loads of trophies now but they are all completely worthless except the 2 League Cups which meant entry into The All Ireland Cup in my first 2 season in the Premiership. The money is amazing and the competition not all that really. It's just a matter of trying to avoid Linfield until the Final.
Good luck .

Strangely, Linfield haven't won the league yet since I started my game. First Glentoran, then Newry (somehow :eek and then Portadown. They look like they'll win it this year though, although Distillery have cut their lead to 4 points.
They haven't won the Irish Cup either, and won't this year.

Speaking of the Irish Cup, I have progressed to the quarter final, beating Bangor 4-1 at home, mostly thanks to a hattrick from 19-year-old striker Neil Corr. We've been drawn away to Glenavon, fortunately avoiding Glentoran.
Jimbo, all clubs are still semi-professional, what date did Linfield change in your game? I imagine when someone does, they are going to have a huge advantage.

| It happened on 19th June, (the day that ne new season starts), and the year must have been 2010 because I had just got into the Premiership.
So they turned pro on 19th June 2010.
How have they done since turning pro......?
2010/11.
League. 2nd.
Champions League. Lost in 1st Round Qual.
N.Irish Cup. Lost in Final.
All Ireland Cup. Winners.
League Cup. Lost in Semi Final.
Antrim Cup. Winners.
2011/12. Current.
League. Top after 8 games. 8 wins from 8.
UEFA Cup. Lost in 1st Rnd Qual.
N.Irish Cup. Not entered yet.
All Ireland Cup. Not entered yet.
League Cup. Lost in Semi Final.
Antrim Cup. Lost in 1st Round. It's a bit of a mixed bag really. They look terriffic in the league at the moment and we are the only team anywhere near them. I've checked my history against them and surprisingly I have a good record against them head to head. I've won 1 and drawn 1 in the league, I've beaten them in a League Cup Semi Fianal and the only game I have lost to them was in the group stages of the League Cup earlier this season when I put out my Reserves. It was the only game we've lost this season. |
