It is Continental competition .

I've signed 8 players, improvinging the first team greatly. Had a brief look at those you mentioned, Hanna and Mullan don't seem to be very good, and I can't find Anto or McDaid.
There's a couple of players who were at the club to start with who seem alright, striker David Sinton and keeper Alistar McGarvey.
Best player I've brought in (on paper) is probably Aaron Horner (CM).
One friendly left against H&W Welders before the IL cup.

I never said any of them were any good. They just suited my tactics .

Mullan in particular looks poo, but how do you argue with a centre-half outscoring your strikers?

Hanna is so average that he has never been 1st choice, even when 2 and 3 strikers have been injured.

McDaid, (who is 36 and still in my team in the All Ireland Cup), was mainly signed because I have a mate with the same surname. Again, I can't complain with 70 assists in 3.5 years.

Anto is and always has been a useless big lump, but that's how I like my target men. He's now 32 and really only used when I'm desperate.

I think that says more about your strikers
Only joking, with stats like those, they have obviously worked excellently for you.
I just beat H&W 4-0 Yes, it was only a friendly, but I'm happy, they're in the first division!

5 of my players got called for the U19 squad...

The future looks bright.

It will have to be, because in Croatia, teams cannot count on more than 4 foreign players... Go homegrown talent...!

PVSK - Hungarian Div II East - 2010 review

Third time lucky
Finally got there after relegating two previous teams in this division. Safety was achieved with a game in hand as we were already 4 points clear in 14th place.
The 19yo AML I signed in January gave me the extra dimension I needed, with an average rating of 7.08 from 12 appearances.
The fans player of the year was my 34yo ST with 2 caps. He finished with 6 goals, and 2 assists from 24 league appearances. Not great, but enough to become the clubs leading goalscorer.

Financially, we had major success. The club had 18k when I took over in July, and now has 179k. I also have a transfer budget of 23k, and now just need my useless scout to find someone decent that wants to play part-time.
Unfortunately my best scout and best coach wont sign a new contract, and I am resigned to losing them.

One of the things that makes promotion from Hungary difficult is that only 1 team gets promoted. This team is usually a decent professional team that has just been relegated from the top flight. Unfortunately from previous experience, I've found you don't become professional until you get promotion, so it is a 'Catch22'.
Difficult for progress.
I once got promoted with Szentes (previously unplayable), although this was after 6 seasons with Karcag, and then it took another 6 seasons before promotion was acheived, but this was a very lucky season. I found it extremely difficult to make any impression in the 1st division, but I will keep trying with PVSK for now.

Fastbasher:

Jest because your team is part time, it doesn't mean that your players have to be part time as well.

I've managed to sign a few players who wouldn't come on a part time contract after I offered them a full time deal.

Its also a good idea to sign the good players in your squad to full time deals, they'll get more out of training and be better players.

I started off part-time and am still part-time.

The up side is that I have won loads of Cups and been promoted twice, (well everyone I'm playing against is only training half as often).

The down-side is that without selling players, I would have amade a loss of about £375,000 in over that period.

I obviously meant to say that all my players were signed onto full-time contracts from the start.

Sorry .
