The Great Escape - Part II

I'm knackered!
What a season, have a look at the final league positions! That goal difference was purely down to my on loan ST who scored a hattrick in the final game of the season
Ofere(although you can't see it in this screenie) came on loan from my parent club Rosenborg and managed to bag 9 goals in 10 games. No surprise he was my top scorer , next highest was Joachim Thomassen with 6!
So, bottom line, we live to fight again in 2009 in the Norwegian First Division

Note to self: Recruit some better players
Well done Cookie. That season looked like really hard work.

Rosenborg are my parent club too, after canceling our link with SK Brann after one season. How many players did they send you? </BLOCKQUOTE>

Hard work, i was in the relegation zone for 4 months and only got out the last day of the season

Rosenborg sent me 3 players in all. Ofere ant 2 wingers! </BLOCKQUOTE>

Was one of the wingers this guy: Abdoulrazak Traoré? I believe he is duplicated in the database so Rosenborg has 2 of him, only one has quite poor attributes and the other one quite good ones. They sent me the good one , but that's the only player they've sent me so far.

I get it now. I had missed that Ofere was the name of a player. Sorry.

Looks like a good challenge Gundo
I might start it sometime but I'm currently busy with a northern irish game of my own at the moment (but with other leagues selected so it's not elligible for this).
Nice work Jimbokav with lisburn, i'm playing with demesne and am in my first season in the top flight.
my bank balance currently reads -£91k, could be worse, Ballyclare have -£4.7 million!

Birkerod - Denmark - Division 2 East - Season 07/08 - Sept 07

Time for a little update. Things are going generally well and so far we have lost just one competitive game, and that wasnt even in the Danish Cup.

Anyway, firstly my players brought in

and my squad.

No amazing players as yet although some of the players I brought in have gone straight to the reserves and under 18s as they are not quite ready yet. My top scorer was already there when I arrived and has surprised me.

As you can see from the squad screen, we are in 2nd place. We were in first but lost the last league game before I took the screenie, for our first defeat of the season.

Our danish Cup exploits have amazed me, having got through a potential banana skin in non-league oppo in the 1st round, we were then drawn at home to Premiership mid-table team AC Horsens. A surprisingly even game finally had the deadlock broken in the 89th minute when their DC put through his own net. That still left us time to win and miss a penalty for a 1-0 win. 3rd round and again we have Premiership oppo in Randers also at home. This time we concede early but equalize within a couple of minutes to go in at half time 1-1. Then in stoppage time at the end of the game we break and score the winner to beat our second Premiership team of the competition. Now as the last team left in from outside the Prem & 1st Divisions we again are home to Prem team Esbjerg.

Fixtures & Results so far

Annoyingly our only defeat (4-3) doubled the number of goals we had conceded in the league (only 4 in the first 6 games). Hopefully we can bounce back in the league and get back to our winning ways.

Next update to come at the big winter break.

Johnnyquest.

Stroll on .

This thread in GQ which asks if anybody has won a European game with a N.Irish team.

Or this one in LLM which discuss the N.Ireland leagues.

If you post in the LLM one, be careful what you say if you are not used to posting in there. It has VERY different rules to elsewhere on the forum.

With regards to the challenge as a whole, I've recently found this old thread, (in which Johnnyquest was a leading light). It was a FM06 challenge inspired by dafuge once again, and involved taking only clubs from N.Ireland to European success. It's 7 pages long but i'm slowly getting through it and some of you may enjoy it.

have you got to the bit where I somehow slaughtered Everton and Barcelona?
the good old days with Tandragee Rovers. had quite a lot of success with them, with the league became too easy. managed to get some brilliant players through my youth system too.

in my game this time, my board don't seem to be able to find a suitable feeder club for me, so no youth system until I can get some money, which could be a while.

Nope never heard of him!
I've managed to keep one of them for another season and the other i cancelled his loan after he broke his leg in training
My two on loan players are Brandtzaeg and Jamtfall for the second time!
I've recruited loads of players for this coming season, but i'll wait to post any screenies until the season is under way , don't want to tempt fate after last time
