With regards to the challenge being near impossible with N.Ireland, I have decided that it is definately NOT impossible.
There is a thread in GQ, (here), where I ask if anyone has ever won a single European game, with a team from N.Ireland without cheating. As yet, It has not received a single response, despite being viewed on 62 occasions. Obviously I am not in a position to keep upping it myself, but I would appreciate it if a couple of you would post at oppertune moments when it drops a long way down the page, just to keep it in view for a while.
The reasons why I think it is possible is because I have absolutely no doubt that I am capable of winning certain first round games against poor opposition. From then on it evens itself out and pre-season fitness will be less of an issue and overall quality will be the underlying factor.
Part of the reason that I have come to this conclusion, is the ease with which I have just signed
5 top U21 stars on free transfers.
I am also buoyed by the announcement of my first affiliation with an
English Premiership Club.
To top the whole week off, the board even decided that the club should
turn professional. To be honest, I wasn't aware that any of the N.Irish clubs were professional and had assumed that I would be remaining semi-pro.
I'll do the pics for the new players and the Premiership link in a bit, once the N.Irish clubs have been kicked out of Europe. I think you will be amazed by the players. I know I was.
The only problem that I have with this game at the moment is that it has taken over from my Bromley game. I keep trying t save and exit but I keep getting drawn back.
