(Hey all, I know I ain't been around much, but at the expense of sleeping, I plan to be around a lot more for the rest of the summer, so I decided to start a sign-up of my own. I've run one before, but never created one, we'll see how it goes.)
The story so far.....
Once upon a time, there was a very rich man, named William Gates. Mr. Gates was, as a man who barely works often is, bored. So on a whim, he decided to start up his very own soccer team. He knew he wanted to put it in France, to please the man he modeled his looks after, the legend that is Jerry Lewis. So off he flew to try and find a team to purchase.
When word got out that Mr. Gates was looking to purchase one of France's revered clubs, a lot of French people, as they usually do when they hear the word "American", got angry. They didn't want Bill to live in France, and splash about his American cash. In particular, Raymond Domenech threatened to leave his post as French manager if Gates got one of their clubs. Fearing the loss of their manager, the French FA ruled that Mr. Gates could not own a club on French soil. But of course, being the "clever" businessman that he is, Mr. Gates hatched a plan (thought up by his wife).
He went to the tiny nation of Andorra and purchased it. Then he bribed the owners of National side Yzeure, offering them 10 million Euros to drop down to the CFA for the year. They accepted and Bill now had a slot to put a team into the French leagues. When the French FA found out, they tried to have him arrested for breaking their ruling. But Bill pointed out that he was not in France, and since Monaco was allowed to have a team in the French leagues, there was no reason Andorra couldn't either. So Bill got his team.
Using the same effort he used when naming his previous Windows programs, he called his new club La Vella FC, since they played in Andorra La Vella. He built a massive stadium in the Andorran capital, capable of holding 30,000 people and able to be expanded to hold 100,000. When he was informed Andorra had only had 70,000 people in the country, he shrugged it off. He also immediately signed the only soccer player he could think of, Sebastian Deisler, to a long-term contract, even though he had a career-threatening injury at the time.
Soon La Vella FC was gearing up for their first season. However on June 1st, Deisler walked into Gates' office and said, "Bill, you realize you need to have more than one player on a team, as well as an actual staff, right?"
Gates stared blankly at Deisler for 5 seconds before saying "Oh....... oops!"
Deisler then quietly walked out the door and screamed untranslatable German expletives for 10 minutes then walked back in the office. "All right Bill, here's what we're going to do. You've got lots of money, right? We'll fly around the world and find as many recruits as we can get. We're not going to be able to get anyone from Europe because Europe pretty much hates you and America. But they should be lots of great young undiscovered stars out there. Just need to find them. And we won't have to worry about that limit on foreign players, because since you own the country, you can just give them all Andorran passports. Also, I'm willing to be the assistant manager to whoever you hire, because if I'm eventually going to be playing, I won't be able to do the full gig. It won't be easy but hopefully we can't find enough people to make up a team."
Gates continued staring blankly at Deisler before finally saying "Uh........OK."
Deisler walked out of the office muttering, "What have I gotten myself into?"
Setup
OK, now that that's out of the way, there's 23 slots in this sign-up. I'll be checking in both before and after work Friday to see how many signed up, and I'll probably end up doing most of the editing Saturday night. Screenshots will likely be few and far between besides the player ones, seeing as dial-up sucks horribly. but I'll update as regularly as I can.
Rules
1. You post more, you get played more. Simple as that.
2. When picking a nationality, it cannot be from Europe. Also, I'd like to try and get as many different ones as possible to see if we can have a little side thing on who's trying to get to the World Cup.
3. CA will be 80 to start and PA will be set to -10. Also, 2 Mental, 2 Technical and 1 Physical stat will be set at 20. One of each will also be set at 15. The rest will be at zero.
