Match 10: La Vella vs. Romorantin

It's really Magic Match Number 10 for the Vellans as we get set to take on Romorantin. Can we keep the streak alive?

83' - Like I said, this would be a quick update. Nothing happened until minute number 83 when Ben Chia hoofed the ball upfield for the Maestro from Melbourne, Steve Fisher. Fisher dribbled, turned Stéphane Atcher inside out and blasted a shot past keeper Romuald Ardéois and into the back corner. Game set an match for La Vella. See. Quick.

This is it. The big dogs in the lower division, recently relegated and real-life winners Clermont Foot Auvergine, are playing host to the New Empire. Can La Vella distance themselves from their closest competitiors, and burn them on their own field to boot?

7' - Ummmmm. Well that kinda sucked. Watari's throw-in is taken away by Mouhamadou Diaw who passed it off to Franck Chaussidiére, who struck it over captain Hong Pong Dong to striker Rudy Carlier who hooked it over Gaz Davies. Yeah, not looking good....

17' - Looking better now! Carrington sent it forward to Scala who passed it up to Drewic, who held onto it. Smart move. Drewic's pause put keeper Olivier Enjolas off-guard and the Canuck blasted it past him to knot it back up at one heading into the final half. What will happen?

56' - How about a bit of payback? A deep pass from Julien Cordonnier attempted to find Diaw, but Watari earned redemption for his earlier gaffe by heading it away and kicking it up the pitch for Drewic, who was having a great game. Drewic looked into the area and found Marcus Cook who finally got his first goal for La Vella by knocking it in. The defence clamped down in the final half hour and La Vella got a big win, their 5th in a row. And to celebrate, we're all going to Dairy Queen! Woooooo!
