"van Winkle scored a fluke goal!"

you did a throw in on the left side, ball got headed straight back to you, you crossed it into the box, and the goalie was out of position from the throw in, so it went straight in.
I saw him off his line, fluke indeed

Dec. 14th 2006

Pablo van den Neijster rejects another new contract, wanting a higher appearance bonus.

Dec. 18th 2006

After picking up the MoM award in MVV’s 1-0 home win against Fortuna Sittard, William Bao receives praise from the Sittard manager. Bao takes the praise with a pinch of salt.

Dec. 24th 2006

RBC Roosendaal, currently 12th in the Dutch First Division while the media predicted them to finish 3rd, have sacked their manager. Merry Christmas, Mr. Robert Maaskant.
This could be good news for Salman van Dahash, who was struggling to get into the first team under Mr. Maaskant’s management.
Three days later, 56 year old Han Berger takes charge of RBC. This will be Mr. Berger’s first manager job. He was contracted to J-league team Trinita for the past two years, as… a player? (and yes, I did get his age right)

More importantly, however:

Dec. 27th 2006

Mikel Van Den Butler is the first to receive interest from another team. More so, the team in question, Belgian title contenders Anderlecht, immediately acts on that interest and makes a bid of 135k Euro. (Van Den Butler is valued at 110k.)
Will this be the start of an interesting January transfer window for the 33 supertalents? I think it might be.

Dec. 29th 2006

Antwerp has accepted Anderlecht’s offer for Mikel Van Den Butler.

Dec. 30th 2006

Today, 30 of the 33 players have 6 months remaining on their contract. (Bloodhound, Sakanyi and Van Den Butler have a contract until 2009.)
And out of nowhere, this magic date triggered a massive amount of interest, with even a few offers.

An overview:

Jordan has 15 teams interested in him (Arsenal, Bordeaux, Werder Bremen, Roma, Inter, and others). None have made a bid. Jordan is currently considering a new contract offer from Union SG.

Ruud van Titchen has 12 teams taking an interest (Tottenham, Ajax, Inter, Parma). He’s considering a new contract offer from De Graafschap, but Serie A team Ascoli has also offered him a contract.

[b]Tjebbe-Willem Hermanus is on the radar of teams such as Newcastle, Tottenham, Marseille, PSG, Parma and 11 others. No offers yet, so he’s considering a new contract offer from Cambuur.

Teejay Vizzy: no interest, but Vizzy is considering a new contract offer from La Louvière.

Ulfke Chaocmans: no interest, considering a new offer from Turnhout

Daniele Ruggiero: considering a new offer from Eindhoven, while 19 teams are interested (Arsenal, Lyon, Bayern, Roma and others)

Rip Van Winkle: 15 teams interested, no offers yet, Van Winkle is considering a new offer from Telstar. (Arsenal, Tottenham, Lyon, Inter, Lazio)

Berty Wright: no interest, considering a new offer from Sint Niklaas

In Der Van Dude: considering a new offer from Haarlem, while no less than 28 teams are interested. (Arsenal, Liverpool, ManU, Lyon, Bayern, Milan, Barcelona, and others)

Rafael van Nistelrooy: considering a new offer from AGOVV, but Atletico Madrid have made an offer of 650k Euro (Rafael’s value is 475k). 17 other teams are interested though (Arsenal, Lyon, Bayern, Inter)

Gary Vandertore: considering a new offer from Eindhoven. 19 teams interested (Bayern, PSG, Lyon, Lazio)

Birdstadt: Considering a new offer from VVV, while 13 teams are interested (Anderlecht, Lyon, PSV)

Zalim of Satas: Considering a new offer from Go Ahead. One team interested: Parma.

Jai Wallace: despite still not having made his debut, Jai has 24 teams interested (Liverpool, Many, Bayern, Milan, Inter). Jai feels pressured by the interest.

Jason Van Der Libertine: considering new offer from Zwolle. 13 teams interested (Tottenham, Lyon, Ajax, PSV, Inter)

Mikel Van Den Butler is still considering Anderlecht’s offer, no other interest.

Salman Van Dahash has Lyon, Willem II and Heerenveen interested in him.

Matt Bennett considers a new offer from Tournai, no interest.

William Bao considers a new offer from MVV, while Nice, Lyon, Rennes, Livorno and Willem II are interested.

Sneaky Ninja considering new offer from Ronse, no interest

Josh McLachlan considers a new offer from Visé, also no interest from other teams

Marcus Van Der Cook is considering a new offer from Zwolle. 15 teams interested (Lyon, Tottenham, Bayern, Feyenoord, Inter)

Johann Van Basten has interest from Lyon, PSG, Bayern, Ajax, Inter and 8 other teams

Rhys Howells: no interest, considering new offer from Kapellen.

Freeliovic, despite playing himself in the picture in U19 matches, has no interest. He’s considering a new offer from Sprimont.

Ryan van der Anders has 21 teams interested in him (Liverpool, Bayern, Milan, Inter). Atletico Madrid has also made an offer of 220k Euro for him (he’s valued at 140k).

Those who aren’t mentioned have no interest in them and are also not considering an offer from their new team. It is, however, only December 30th. Looks like several of you might not even finish their first season with the club they start at.

That should be from their current team, obviously. Also messed up some boldness, sorry.

Oh, big teams interested already. Let's hope Tjebbe-Willem has the sense to pick either a good team where he'll also get some first team play and not get stuck in some second rate team without hope for match play. Remember lad, if no good offers are around, patience is a virtue!

Thanks again for the update! Any chance for a "player value" screenie soon (right after the transfer window may be a good time)

(I have the feeling that I’m gonna do a fair bit of typing still before the game moves into 2007 )

Dec. 30th 2006, 2pm:

Lyon, currently 7th in the French Ligue 1 and interested in many of the 33, have decided to act on that interest.
They have offered a contract to: Tjebbe-Willem Hermanus, Gary Vandertore, Jason Van Der Libertine, Johann Van Basten and Marcus Van Der Cook.

Dec. 30th 2006, 3pm:

Livorno (currently 12th in the Italian Serie A) have offered a contract to William Bao

Dec. 30th 2006, 5pm:

Barcelona (currently 1st in the Primera) have offered a contract to In Der Van Dude.

Meanwhile, Gary Vandertore receives another contract offer, this time from Paris-SG (who are currently 5th)

Dec. 30th 2006, 8pm:

Ruud van Titchen, who already had a contract offer from Ascoli, now receives offers from two more Serie A teams, Parma and Palermo. Spanish midtable team Celta de Vigo also offers him a contract, as well as Dutch league leaders Ajax.

Parma also offers a contract to Gary Vandertore and Tjebbe-Willem Hermanus, while Roma offers a contract to Jordan.

With all those high profile teams offering contracts left and right, Daniele Ruggiero might be slightly disappointed that the offer coming in for him is from… Beveren (currently 14th in the Belgian First Division).

I'll put up the player value screenshot now already. Once a few people moves teams, their value should change drastically.

For the same reason, I'll post the monthly stats screenies a few days early:

Holland
Belgium
Luxembourg

And sorting the shortlist by nationality revealed something slightly odd: there is absolutely no interest in any of the Belgian players! (well, there's Van Den Butler's contract offer from Anderlecht, but that's a Belgian team.)
Is this some freaky coincidence, or are AI teams somehow biased against Belgian players? Odd, and something to keep an eye on in the next few game days and weeks.

Dec. 30th 2006, 10pm:

Milan, currently 15th in the Serie A, have decided to join in the snatch-up-young-talent-game. They make offers for: In Der Van Dude (1.3M), Jai Wallace (0) and Ryan van der Anders (0).

Meanwhile, a few French midtable teams feel like they could use some talent to strengthen their squad as well. Auxerre offer a contract to Rafael van Nistelrooy, and Nice offer one to Birdstadt.

Dec. 31st 2006

The sacking of the FC Den Bosch manager may increase Jai Wallace’s chances of making his debut any time soon. Jai, however, has other things on his mind. After Milan yesterday, Inter and FC Bayern are also bidding for him.

Inter and Bayern are keen to secure some more talented youngsters, in fact.
Inter also offers a contract to Jordan, and makes offers for In Der Van Dude (925k), and Rip van Winkle (475k).
Bayern makes an offer for Gary Vandertore, and offers contracts to Johann Van Basten and Marcus Van Der Cook.

Birdstadt, after the contract offer from Nice, now receives two more contract offers: Cagliari and Anderlecht.

William Bao also receives another contract offer, from French relegation battlers Rennes.

And the English teams are starting to wake up as well.
Liverpool makes two transfer offers, for In Der Van Dude and Ryan van der Anders.
Newcastle and Tottenham offer a contract to T-W Hermanus.
Arsenal offers contracts to Jordan and Rip van Winkle. Van Winkle also receives a contract offer from Mouscron, currently last in the Belgian First Division. Tough choice, that.

And, after being the first one to have a team put in a bid for him, Mikel Van Den Butler is now also the first one to accept an offer. He will move to Anderlecht tomorrow for an initial fee of 110k Euro.

Only Freeliovic (11) has scored more than me (7)
I'm leading the way with an impressive 11 assists
I've got some of Europe's biggest clubs after me........can life get any better?

I wonder who will be the first player to change clubs?

CoachFlu i'm sure these updates are taking ages but the detail is very much appreciated, thanks
