Yeah baby!!
It looks like I might finally turn out decent in a sign-up.

August 26th 2006

Azarias Sakanyi signs a new three year contract at Dessel.

Sept. 1st 2006

Player stats screenshots:

Holland
Belgium
Luxembourg

Still early in the season, obviously, but some of you are making an impressive start.

An update on the ones who are injured:
- Jordan: 1 day - 3 weeks (pulled hamstring)
- Ruud van Titchen: 2-3 months (torn hamstring)
- Steven Kemp: 1-2 months (hip injury)
- Jai Wallace: 4 weeks - 2 months (strained knee ligaments)
- Jason Van Der Libertine: 1 day - 2 weeks (damaged elbow)
- Rhys Howells: 2-3 months (slipped disc)
- Bennett and Van Dahash, after their recent injuries, are just about reaching 90% condition again, so they could make their debuts soon. Tomaldinho only just recovered and is still very unfit.

One more screenshot: the shortlist sorted by player value.
Those who aren't in the screenshot are worth less than 22k Euro, at the moment.
Player values are changing on an almost daily basis at this stage though, so it's a bit too soon to draw big conclusions about that.
One thing that does stand out: lots of Dutch players at the top of the player value list. This probably has to do with the Dutch First Division having a higher reputation than the Belgian 2nd and 3rd Division.

Still haven't played a game? I see myself becoming the Belgian Deisler before too long.

Great updates so far Coach, really good to see how everyone else is getting along too.

Metric stuff is fine, don't understand Euros though but we are in Europe so why not

Sept. 2nd 2006

Russia U21 – Belgium U21 (Euro U21 Ch’Ship Qual)
1 – 1

Luxembourg – Holland (Euro Ch’Ship Qual)
0 – 3

A Lux-Hol face-off already, but unfortunately without any of us.
The replay in Holland, however, is more than a year away (Nov. 2007). Perhaps some of the Luxembourgians will have made it into the main national squad by then and can attempt to take revenge.

Euro U19 Qualifying matches have been scheduled as well.
Belgium is in a group with Czech Rep., Armenia and Georgia.
Luxembourg is in a group with Albania, Israel and… Holland.
All the matches in the groups will be played in quick succession, between Oct. 10 and 15. (This’ll be the first Qual stage, there’s a similar week of Qual Group play in May.)

So mid October will be an interesting period to watch out for, because some of you might make their international debuts then, if only on a U19 level.
At the moment, Birdstadt and McLachlan are listed in the Luxembourg U19 squad (with the others in the U21 squad).
And it’s still more than a month to go. Perhaps some of the Belgians and Dutch will be able to impress their way into the U19 squad by then? We’ll see.

Cool. Looks like Tjebbe-Willem is becoming the regular rightback for Cambuur! And fast becoming the scourge of the opposition with 4.5 tackles per game.

And not even the lowest valued player either. Gooooo Tjebbe!

Sept. 6th 2006

Teejay Vizzy rejects La Louvière’s new contract offer, wanting a higher appearance bonus.

International results:

Armenia U21 – Russia U21 (Euro U21 Ch’Ship Qual)
0 – 4

This is relevant because it means Russia qualified for the playoff matches ahead of Belgium on goal difference. That means only the Holland U21s will be playing the Euro U21 tournament next summer.

Armenia – Belgium (Euro Ch’Ship Qual)
0 – 1

Holland – Belarus (Euro Ch’Ship Qual)
1 – 0
