i had the same problems but just got it to work. First you need to release some united players. I used the editor to do Tim Howard to Everton and a couple of youth players on a free. I then made a couple of adjustments on the data base. My lines are as follows:

most likely because you've only just bought the game, hence only just joining the forum and probably dont know to use it..

try explaining why it isnt working and you may get assistance
