Default Makng DNA...

I'm trying to make a picture of DNA in photoshop -- just a simple gif showing the two helixes and the bases aonnecing them.

Can anyone tell me the best way to make two eaqual, mirrored, smoothly curved lines (probably about 10-20 pixels in diameter) ?

Thanks

I'm pretty new to PS, but why not create ONE side of the helix. Curves and all.

Then duplicate the layer, and on the duplicated layer, go to Edit > Transform > Flip Vertical.

Now you should just be able to move to layers with the move tool and form the double helix.

That's as much as I know, heh.

I'm sure some of the gurus can give you better advice.

Thanks for your reply. [righton]

But how do I get the curved line in the first place? How can I make the individual "curves" in the line eaqual in angle, size, and spacing?

To distort a line into a curve with similar segments, use distort>wave, and make sure to use similar minimal and max values for amplitude and wavelenght.

Nah, me neither. [bustagut]

Actually I came to PS rather later in life and while I'm constantly learning how to do more within the tools of PS, I had at it to orignally to create images. I'm always been willing to experiment with any tools which will advance that goal.

Now for cheat #2, AV Bros. Page Curl plugin made this one easy.
