Thanks Rosicky, glad it's not just me. I have further tweaked my game with a new training regime.

Key is to have tactical and motivation up to intensive for all players and have attacking at intensive for attacking players and defensive up to intensive for defensive players. I have fitness set to moderate for everyone as I have usually got a large squad.

I just won my third champions league in 4 years with Go Ahead Eagles in Holland despite consistently selling all my best players at the end of each season.

Juts out of interest Rosicky...How many goals did your central midfielder score? I have a guy called Wiljan Pluim who has scored 60+ three years running!!

Top tactic mate... Playing as Spurs and started using it with 4 games of 1st season to play. Was sitting 5th using my own 4-4-2 tactic and think i would have finished there but your tactic has transformed my side. Lost first game away to Bolton but won remaining three. Now unbeaten 5 games into season 2..... Top stuff !

Have some faith, the guy I have ion the position in my Go Ahead Eagles team has these stats:

Crossing 15
Dribbling 20
Heading 2
Passing 20
Shooting 20
Tackling 18
Technique 13
Aggression 15
Creativity 20
Decisions 17
Leadership 8
Movement 20
Positioning 19
Teamwork 13
Pace 7
Stamina 17
Strength 8

Average ratings for 3 seasons since I bought him have been 8.22, 8.33 and 8.44 and he has scored 65, 77 and 54 with 2 world player of the year awards.

If you get a guy in form in this position the tactic is almost perfect.

I bought that Zuniga character, but he was third choice after Rosicky and Inostroza for the attacking central midfielder. Between them they must have got about 60 goals, but on their own Rosicky was top with 27. I scored about 120 goals in the last season, it was ridiculous but fun (unbeaten in the league). I switch my team a bit but I would say my top side is:

Weidenfeller GK

Matthiu Ferreira DC
Metzelder DC
Jahn DC (bit of homegrown talent in there)

Mike Zonneveld ML
Inostroza MC
Rosicky MC
Kehl MC
Joe Cole MR

Kerlon SC
Pazzini SC

Subs
V Degre (GK)
Iaquinta
Cicinho
Zuniga
Kruska
I Akin or E Smolarek

If I get chance I'll have a crack at the training - you had much luck with it Jambo?

As much luck as you can have....I have won 8 Dutch titles in a row with Go Ahead Eagles (start with a crap team and no money in the 1st division) and I have now won 5 champions leagues in a row (6 out of the last 7).

One thing I would say is that after about 6 or 7 years of dominating my tactics stopped working so well for some reason and I had a terrible run. I tried another nfew tactics and eventually went for taking the wide men free roles away and playing more solid defensive players there, didn't score as many goals but have once again won everything!

I'm going to start a new game though after I win 10 league titles in a row hopefully.

Come on lad surely we've got to play the full 30 seasons and see what the best score is?

In fact will we be the first to start the
"what's your best score after the full 30 seasons" thread?

Sounds like a plan. I finished mt ten in a row last night so I have now done 14 seasons in my Go Ahead Eagles game, 6 champions leagues in a row now also.

I reckon we shouls start that thread for sure...

This tactic is very good indeed. I'm playing with Leicester and before I used this tactic I finished 8th, 7th, and 10th in the Premeirship (having got Leicester promoted in my 1st season and finished FA Cup runners up).

I started using this tactic in my 5th season and managed to stay in the top 2 for a few months of the season, before eventually finishing 5th (well ahead of 6th place and not too far behind the top 4). I also won the FA Cup - my first cup win on FM Handheld!

So it's a big thumbs-up from me - although the only slight criticism I have is that I didn't get the 40 goal midfielder (I play Ore in that role but he did get over 20 goals), and that my strikers were pretty rubbish in the number of goals they scored. Also, I found it difficult at times to break down the opposition at home when they simply came to defend - I ending up drawing too many games like this.

Overall though I was very pleased with the results.

The key to getting the massive scoring midfield is to have a guy with great stats like the ones I said in a previous post.

I have also tried Pablo Ore in the role but he didn't work too well for me. Strikers not scoring is also pretty common for me, only once in ten seasons in my Go Ahead Eagles game did I have a striker scoring over 30 goals and I agree that this is pretty strange but I think it's because the midfielders score so many with long shots that the strikers don't get enough chances.

Despite not scoring loadfs of goals they usually still get good average ratings of over 7.50 for me and I think with assists and everything taken into account the strikers do contribute enough without scoring loads of goals.

Marking - Similar to NTFC, all set to man marking except goalkeeper, the middle of the 3 defenders and the middle of the 3 midfielders.

Do you set the midfielder and the defender to zonal or no marking at all?
