Welcome back to the Weakest Link. Our 20 managers are off managing their teams, and spending their money, but who have they brought in to boost their chances of success? Lets take a look. Raptor has been reasonably busy at Celtic, spending £26.5M which would normally have the Celtic board in a fit of panic. Four players have come in, the star buys being Eidur Gudjohnsen from Chelsea for £17M and Ivica Olic from CSKA Moscow for £5.75M. Spav has been a little bit more frugal at Birmingham, with only £9M so far being spent on three players. Maniche from Porto is their top signing at them moment costing £5.5M.
at Liverpool, Terk has been splashing the cash with a total of £48.5M gone on three players. Star buys are Jorge Andrade from Depor at £23M, and William Gallas from Chelsea at £19.25.
Bolton don't seem to realise they have cash to splash, as Ryno has spent just £1.7M, with £1.6M of that going on star buy Mohamed Zidan. Binny is obviously very happy with the Arsenal squad as it stands, not bringing in any players at all. Will that prove to be a wise move in the end? Brian of Nazareth's top signing for Villa is Wesley Sneijder from Ajax for £7.25M.
Chelsea are the only club to have suffered an actual budget cut back, but even so that hasnt stopped HD splashing out an incredible £84M on four players for his squad, star buy being Fernando Torres from Atletico Madrid at £47.5M. To be fair though, HD has recuperated £36.5M in sales. Bobbev has brought in two players for the same price each, £9.75M, those being Mark van Bommel from PSV and Valerien Ismael from Werder Bremen.
Newcastle have brought in four players at a cost of £26.5M, Tyrone the Mag's top signing being Levan Kobiashvili from Schalke - £10.75M.
Blackburn are another club who have failed to spend any of their windfall, Flipsix3 probably forgetting where he put the cheque book. King Jeff seems to have the same strategy at Charlton, which is surprising. Puedlfor has only brought one new player to Everton, that being Sydney Govou from Lyon for £8.5M
Fulham's top signing is Marek Mintal at £9M from Nurberg, with Faramir bringing on two other players to bring his total spending to £12.25M
In Manchester, Trigz has spent £31.5M at City, key signings being Sanli Tuncay from Fenerbache at £11.75M and Gilberto from Arsenal at £11.25M.
In the other half of Manchester, Bagpuss spent most of his transfer bugdet on a facelift, which sadly didn't work and he still has to wear a paper bag over his head. £19.75M was spent though on Dimitar Berbatov from Leverkusen. Mattie clearly hasnt realised the idea of the game yet, as he has spent nothing. Peacemaker7 has spent £47M on two players for his Rangers side. Ronaldo finally arrives at Ibrox for £29M and Michael Ballack also comes in for £17.75M. OMDave has brought in Raul Tamudo from Espanyol for £17M and Craig Bellamy from Newcastle for £3M.
And finally, Gricehead has brought in three players costing £3.9M in total, the star signing being Wolfsburg's Miroslav Karhan for £3.2M.
So then, the cash has been splashed, but what difference will it make to the hopes and dreams of the teams. We'll be back at the end of the season to find out.
